Scarab Sages

Ok nice thank you avr

Scarab Sages

Hello i was reading up on the alchemist, it's a lot more interesting class then i remember. So browsing through archetypes i encounter the Trap Breaker's Land Mine ability.

Land Mine (Ex)

At 6th level, a trap breaker can turn his bombs into land mines. Setting a land mine is a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity. The land mine fills a single 5-foot square, and can’t be placed in the same space as another trap, land mine, or magic trap. The trap breaker can arm the land mine with any bomb he is eligible to use, and the effects of this bomb are immediately transferred to the land mine. Creating a land mine uses up two of the alchemist’s bombs per day. The DCs for Perception checks to notice the land mine, Disable Device checks to disable it, and saving throws to avoid its effects are equal to 10 + 1/2 the alchemist’s level + his Intelligence modifier. All alchemist land mines are mechanical traps with the qualities Trigger: location and Reset: none. Land mines last for 1 day per alchemist level or until they are triggered, whichever comes first.

So its pretty straight forward, until i read the last part.
Land mines last for 1 day per alchemist level or until they are triggered, whichever comes first.

My question is this, If a 7th level character makes 7 land mines, they would last for 7 days or until triggered. Can you make another 7 land mines the next day and create your own minefield?

Ok so i understand i have worded the question wrong. So what im trying to understand.

Is there any way to Wield a Large 1-Handed Weapon in 1 Hand Without Increasing Your Size.

Can a Bloodrager Wield a Large Bastard Sword in 1 Hand?

I think the others have covered the options pretty well. There are a few ways but none are very exciting and generally inferior to other options. Do you mind if I ask why you're trying to do this? What are you attempting to gain? Is it a bigger damage dice? If we know this, it might be possible to give options that could work without using oversized weapons.

So the reason i was trying to find a way to make this work is my gm plays his games with soceity only rules, and there is a Huge Bastard Sword that my guy needs to fight with to defeat the giant king, cause i had challenged him to a duel to the death, my diplomacy roll was insanely awful so now i have a day in character and 1 week out of character to find a Legal way to wield this Huge Bastard Sword or my guy will die.

I can't back out cause my companions are captured and if i run they die i lose they die so basically its sick or swim.

Forgot to mention i don't have my spells yet and no one can cast enlarge person

So Polearms are possible, i know of a Earth Breaker, Scimitar, and Bastard Sword, but is it possible with other Weapons?

Scarab Sages

Hello I've been searching through a large amount of Threads/Posts, and they mostly talking about specific Weapons, Titan Mauler, or Strongarm Bracers.

My question is there any Feat, Trait, or Magic Item Legal in Society, that will let you use any Weapon Size, 1 size larger, such as this.

Orcgash is a medium sized creature, he is trying to wield a Large Cutlass, the size difference Means that the Large Cutlass is now wielded as Two-Handed Weapon rather than One-Handed Weapon, so he takes a -2 to attack rolls. He wishes to Use the Large Cutlass as One-Handed Weapon.

How can he do that? Cause the only ways i found is Enlarge Person or Titan Mauler Barbarian. Is there any way that this can be Legal in Society Games?

Besides the Tiefling Method.

Hey im building a Drow Noble Cleric.
I encountered a interesting subdomain ability that might work out well with the Special abilities a Drow Noble.

More for Me (Su) (Trickery Domain)
When another character within 30 feet casts a spell with a range greater than touch, you can attempt a caster level check as an immediate action (DC = 15 + the spell’s level). If you succeed at the check, you receive the spell’s benefit instead of one of the spell’s intended targets (chosen by you). If you are already a target of the spell, you are affected as though you were targeted by the same spell twice (which may or may not benefit you; remember that bonuses from the same source do not stack). This ability does not grant you knowledge of the spell being cast. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Drow nobles can cast dancing lights, deeper darkness, faerie fire, feather fall, and levitate each at will, and have detect magic as a constant spell-like ability.

so could i see the spell school a spell belongs to before i use the domain ability or is it still i wont know till it hits me?

Can I use Craft Magic Arms and Armor to increase my blade's enhancement bonus?

No, nor can you use that feat to add other properties (such as flaming) to the black blade. You can use your arcane pool to temporarily add abilities to your black blade.

You can't add properties to the blade via feats, you can only give it properties using the arcane pool effects. My question is with Permanency can you give a black blade these magic spell permanently?

-Banishing Blade
-Dazzling Blade
-Disguise Weapon
-Unerring Weapon
-Caustic Safeguard
-Returning Weapon
-Fiery Runes
-Brow Gasher
-Splinter Spell Resistance
-Heart of the Metal

some of these i could see an answer of no but more the question is generally would these spells made permanent on a black blade still function or would work anymore?

Scarab Sages

Ya thank you everyone for helping me figure that out.

Scarab Sages

Ya but i'm playing a bladebound magus so its not insanely important, but glad that magus basically have pearl of power at will.

Scarab Sages

So as long as i have Arcane Points i could cast spell's forever?

Scarab Sages

This seemingly normal pearl of average size and luster is a potent aid to all spellcasters who prepare spells (clerics, druids, rangers, paladins, and wizards). Once per day on command, a pearl of power enables the possessor to recall any one spell that she had prepared and then cast that day. The spell is then prepared again, just as if it had not been cast. The spell must be of a particular level, depending on the pearl.

At 4th level, the magus learns to use his arcane pool to recall spells he has already cast. With a swift action he can recall any single magus spell that he has already prepared and cast that day by expending a number of points from his arcane pool equal to the spell’s level (minimum 1). The spell is prepared again, just as if it had not been cast.

So does this mean the Magus Spell Recall acts in the same way as a Pearl of Power, and let you regain a spell per day at the cost of arcane point?

Example: A 4th level magus casts the spell Mirror Image. He had only Prepared it once and used the Spell Recall ability to prepare it once again. Would that mean he could cast the Second level spell again?

Scarab Sages

Hey so was building a magus and found the Spell-Scars Arcana. The Arcana costs the same as a scroll, you don't even need to see or touch it to use it. Its basically the same as Spell Tattoos that you can make from the Inscribe Magical Tattoo item creation feat. but the feat costs you 4 times more and you need to touch it to cast it.

There are a few other things you can make from the feat that actually pretty good. Back to the point say i want a Reservoir Tattoo on my left Ring Magic Item slot, and i decided to try and put Spell-Scar of say Enlarge Person. I realize that they are both Tattoo's and would probably cancel out or wouldn't work, but could it work?

Scarab Sages

At the 1st level a wizard may pick a familiar or a bonded object. the object can be a ring, amulet, weapon, wand, or a staff.

say i come across a amulet of spell mastery: This platinum locket only has power when used as a wizard’s bonded object. It allows the wizard to prepare an additional 6 levels of spells per day.

i can bond with it after a week and spending the right amount of gold and the 8 hour ritual assuming i had given up my previous bonded object.

so my question is this can i add additional magic abilities to this amulet even though it already has a magic ability?

for an example could i have a bonded ring of spell storing that i can upgrade later with the right amount of gold and also give it say the function of a ring of evasion.

so the ring would be able to store up to 5 lvl of spells and also give me the evasion ability?
