Physical Description:
Age: 28, Height: 3’ 3”, Weight: 37lbs - Pak has dirty blonde hair with dark blue eyes. His skin is ruddy from long hours of guard duty and regular patrols. His body is lean and muscular beneath his armor from years of his youth spent training with hammers and crossbows. He wears an insignia of the church of Abadar proudly on his Korvosan Guard uniform.

Backstory:
Pak Miniweathers was born free in Korvosa. His mother, Marra, was smuggled into the city while pregnant to escape slavery in Cheliax with the help of the Bellflower Network and House Leroung’s halfling ships. Marra named her son Pak because he just got heavier and heavier as they neared their destination. She also adopted the surname Miniweathers because it rained throughout the whole journey and she was fearful of her old name being hunted by vengeful slavers, or worse.

What little memories Pak has of his early childhood were quite pleasant despite being raised in abject poverty. That all changed the night his mother was found murdered and her precious ring stolen. He was still a young adolescent when he lost the only family he had ever known. Once the victim’s identity had been confirmed, the investigation was dismissed as a random act of violence against an “Empty”. In the aftermath, a kindly officer of the Korvasan Guard took pity on the small, frightened child and sent Pak off to live in the largest orphanage up on Pillar Hill in Midland.

Finding enough food to satisfy the appetites of a teenage halfling was challenging for Pak’s caretakers to say the least. He spent many nights sneaking out, picking through garbage for the least unsavory midnight snacks he could find and considered himself quite clever for never getting caught. Until he did. By the very same officer who had “saved” him years ago no less. Pak could feel the crushing weight of disappointment in his benefactor’s eyes and immediately promised to pay restitution for his crime in the form of service.

True to his word, as soon as Pak turned eighteen and became eligible to enlist in the Korvosan Guard, he did just that. He trained hard and was even befriended by several other halfling recruits. They taught him that to earn respect among the tall humans of the Guard, he’d be wise to hone his speed over the strength of his arm if he wanted to climb the ranks. After ten years in the Guard, Pak earned more than just the respect of his peers. He discovered his true worth as a faithful servant of the god of cities and wealth, Abadar. His skills and devotion had awarded him the blessings of a paladin.

As a Knight of Coins, Pak enjoyed a modest lifestyle well above the station of his birth and while he felt confident that he had earned every bit of it, he still craved more. He found great satisfaction when his patrols took him through the crowded stalls of Gold Market, where he could passively peruse the fanciful foodstuffs and trinkets on display. On one such occasion, a particular piece of jewelry caught his discerning eye. It was unmistakably his mother’s ring! While he was unable to convince the merchant to part with it for any less than five hundred gold sails, he did manage to get a name for its origin, Gaedren Lamm. Pak knew this had to be more than just coincidence and that he had been divinely quested to bring his mother’s killer to justice.
