Background:

Orthos was the 1st of 4 kits born to Ferran parents. He was a bit quicker than his siblings, and his father knew he'd be trouble. Orthos fancied himself a fencer, and took up the thin blade early, practicing whenever his mother would allow it. What lack of skill he has he more than makes up with natural grace. He learned to appreciate the edge of the dueling blade, and often play dueled with his brothers and sisters, make believing they were pirates and such. He had a relatively happy life. Then the dreams started.
He had visions of little thing at first. Things that he wrote off as deja vu. Then he knew where a kit had gotten stuck in a ravine, where the fish would be...people wrote him off at first, then others began to ostracize him, including his siblings. He began to jump at shadows, and was suspicious of every stranger he saw. His visions became more and more difficult to ignore...
His village elders laughed when he predicted the village would be attacked. He saw the visions of the shadows attacking, coming after him and his family. He could not bear the thought of harm coming to his loved ones becasue of him. So, he left. He packed his bags and headed to Carraway.
He had heard the tales of old orders of prophets. He knew what he was. He was going to need help, though, fighting the dark ones. If anyone knew how to fight these things, they would in Carraway.
