Milos’ childhood was a mixture of extremes. He was born the first child of an alcoholic and angry father who beat his wife to death for bearing a child with the ‘Mark of Evil’(a birthmark of a dark cloud, located over his heart) and then exposed the boy on a hilltop. Milos was saved by a local midwife who arrived late the next day to check on the pregnant woman and found the baby cradled by her corpse, having survived a storm that would become a local legend. His father’s explanation that his mother died in childbirth was believed, so Milos was raised by a man who both hated and feared him. When Father finally drank himself to death, a savior arrived in the form of Aunt Marta, who gave him a new home in nearby Varno.
After that, Milos’ life reached a period of smooth sailing. Marta and her husband Bela run a well-respected training camp for young acrobats. They’re paid to take in promising young people and prepare them for a career as agile entertainers. Although Milos didn’t have the talent to join their number, the students became the playmates he had never known. He even met the true parent of his soul when the training camp’s healer was introduced to him. Gale was a lay deacon of Gozreh. Milos was inspired by his beliefs to understand that the path of his life was a lesson sent by the god to show him that every up and down is an opportunity to grow and learn. Taking that belief to heart made Milos realize that the yearning for more he had always felt was a Calling to the priesthood. Combining Gale’s love of growing plants with his own love for storms, and mixing in the physical lessons learned at the camp, Milos is ready to make a life for himself and has returned to the town of his birth, Carrion Hill.
