Appearance:
Omsare stands 6'3" tall and seems to be all sinewy muscle. His dusky skin and brown eyes seem normal for his race, but his hair is shockingly white. While not uncommon for his race to grey early, his began to whiten in his early teens. His hair is hangs about six inches past his shoulders, and is kept neatly tied back.
Background:
Omsare was born near the port city of Manaket in Rahadoum. His family were shepherds controlling large tracks of land outside the city. Over the years, it had become more and more difficult to maintain the herds as the land dried up. They turned to the god Gozreh in secret, praying for a change in weather. They had kept many of their old religious texts in a secret compartment under a floorboard in their home. During one of their morning rituals 4 years ago, agents of the Pure Legion arrived and arrested the entire family except for Osmare and his younger brother, Astilan. Osmare was in the fields tending the animals when they arrived, and was able to escape into hiding.
That night, Omsare returned to the family home, and discovered his brother there. His brother had been attending the wizard academy in the city for the last two years. While there, he had decided the anti-religion sentiments of the nation were for the best, and had recently joined the Pure Legion. His first act had been to betray his family's secret worship of Gozreh. Upon hearing this, Osmare attacked his brother, knocking him unconcious. Even though he had sentenced his family to prison or possibly death, Osmare could not kill his brother. Instead, he tied him up, took as much family money as he could find, and made his way to Maneket. There, he bought passage on the first ship that would take him. His description had already gotten out, so a ship of some disrepute was the only he could find. The ship took him to the port of Ilizmagorti.
Two months later he reached his destination. His found employment rather quickly. He began tending the stables at an inn nearby. There were not many horses on the island, but he was tipped well because the horses that were there tended to belong to high ranking assassins, or so he believed. He knew he didn't want to stay long, as he longed to see the world, and began studying the many geography books in the inn's library. He quickly began focusing on the Mwangi Expanse. The innkeeper, an elderly man named Shinzo, who happened to be from Sargava, noticing his curiosity, taught him polyglot. He also began teaching him the use of curious sword called the sawtooth sabre, and how to use it with both hands.
Omsare had been on the island for nearly 4 years, when they came for him. The mantis assassins wanted to recruit him into their fold. Apparently, Shinzo was a retired assassin and had marked him for recruitment based on his ease with the swords. He agreed to joing the guild, as he felt he had no choice. They told him, that they would be back the next day to escort him to the compund. That night as Shinzo slept, he snuck out of the inn with as much equipment as he could gather, and a map of the Mwangi Expanse. He hid near the docks, and boarded the Jenivere just before it left port in the morning, hoping the assassins would hear too late of his departure to interfere.
