About Omari of Sothis

*Introduction and History*

Omari of Sothis was born to a low rung family in the great Garundi community inside Sothis. He learned not only of his culture, but of his nation's culture as a child, and of their entwined and glorious histories. His mother was very protective of him, but Omari loved learning. He'd often escape her sight in the markets to run to different curio stalls, seeing new antiques from across the desert sands. His passion for relics led him on his life path of being a scholar of Ancient Osirion.

Fate however would choose another, although parallel, path for him to walk. At the age of ten, both his mother and father died in a fire, caused by a drunken neighbor, as they slept. Omari was out at night, having snuck away to view the city lights from the roof of the Temple of Sarenrae that night. He saw the fire rage from that distance and somehow knew the truth. He wept openly, as any child would.

His cries however woke not his parents, but the Priestess of the Temple he was trespassing upon. She brought him down and eased his pain. She took him as her own, and raised him in the Temple, but at the age of manhood he was given the option to stay or to set out on his own. Sarenrae had given him all she could, and in exchange, Omari devoted his life to her call. The orphan turned Priest stayed, helping his adopted Mother with the day to day operations of the Temple. In his spare time, he spent much of it learning about the subjects that fascinated him as a child. He became a rather well known Osiriontologist, even getting funding from the church to do expeditions into nearby ruins, but never enough to stay for more than a day or so.

As the Temple grew in congregation and size, more clergy entered the fold, giving Omari time to devote to exploration and discovery. Finally, he approached the local Pathfinder Lodge in Sothis and joined the Pathfinders. With his right hand clutching his Goddess's holy symbol, and his left hand holding a note of introduction to a notable member of the Pathfinders, Omari is set to become the world's foremost historian on Osirion History.

*Appearance*

Standing five and a half feet tall, Omari is of average height and build. His skin is a light brown, with a tinge of red. With uninteresting brown eyes and no truly remarkable scars, he seems to blend into the crowds of Sothis quite easily.

He always seems to wear very bright clothing, usually colored gold or yellow, spiced with oranges, purples, and reds. He wears his garb loosely, as the desert demands. His favorite outfit is a light vest and a billowing sleeved undershirt, yellow as the afternoon sun, along with a kilt with sun rays falling to his knees. They are fat near his belt, and so very thin near his knees, matching his shirt's color. Underlayed from that pattern is a matching color and fabric to his vestment. He wears boots based on his activities, like exploring with leather knee-highs or studying with silk slippers. His cloak is always bleached white, with many pockets to hold archaeologist tools.
