Backstory:
Olil was born and raised in a small coastal village in southeastern Rahadoum. When he was a child, playing in the water, he was attacked by a shark. He managed to escape with help, but lost lower left leg in the process. While the young child quickly adapted to life with a wooden prosthesis, he fostered a deep hatred of aquatic animals, particularly sharks. When he became an adult he enlisted in the Pure Legion, and there he learned to fight and honed his natural talent with a crossbow. One day, while out on a patrol near the border of the Sodden Lands, his group was captured by a large group of lizardfolk from the Sodden Lands. They were taken deep into the swamps, but eventually escaped, although they lost some of their member. Lost in a dense and dangerous swampland and surrounded by hostile forces, the odds were heavily stacked against the soldiers. However the resilience and teamwork of the Pure Legion was not to be underestimated, and they set out toward what they hoped was Rahadoum. After months of wandering and considerable luck, Olil and two others (of the original twenty) emerged from the flooded swamps. But they came out not in Rahadoum, but in the Shackles. Going back was near certain death, as their three options were back through the Sodden Lands, around the Eye of Abendego and Mediogalti Island, and through the Mwangi Expanse, followed by the range of mountains known as the Barrier Wall. The three survivors went their separate ways, and Olil eventually made his way to the capital city of Port Peril, and the tavern known as the Formidably Maid.
