About Ojan the War Witch of Irrisen

The Hope of Summer’s Return

The Blackravens have long protected Trollheim from the plundering raids of ice trolls from Irrisen. These warriors protect their lands and families from the icy thieving grip of the White Witches. One commander of note was a man named Orne Hammerdas, who vehemently fought and spoke against the Witch Queen’s rule. His actions did not escape the notice of his enemies and his own family became the target of their ire.

The minions of the evil witches crept into the Linnorm town through the cover of unnatural fog and darkness and kidnapped his daughters and pregnant wife. His daughters were taken to Whitethrone where their souls were to be imprisoned in eerie porcelain dolls for the queen’s amusement. His wife, Majan, was to be taken to Hope Lost and be the “guest of honor” at one of the queen’s sister’s sick suppers.

However, the fiery Ulfen woman managed to escape her captors even though she was full term with her child. Through the frozen darkness of Irrisen she made her way into the Kodar Mountains pushed by her desire to save her child and also drawn by a green distant light on the horizon. Exhausted and weak from her ordeal she found her way to the light’s source, a druidic stone circle at the mountain’s top. She laid in the glow of the rocks and entered into a painless labor.

To her aid came many green hooded figures as she delivered a beautiful baby girl who entered the world without a cry. These impromptu midwives shared that they were the Heralds of Summer’s Return and that her child was a special child. With her labor successful, the new mother now surrendered as she felt her life fading. Her only words were, “Call her Ojan” and, “Tell her to save her sisters”. With that she passed from this life to the next.

Ojan was raised in the mountains by the druids. She was taught of the evil of the eternal winter and of its source. Her life’s mission from her youth would be to bring good back to Irrisen and deliver her people from their frozen fear. To aid her in her quest, the Ulfen spirits of battle bestowed upon her great prowess with the sword and with divine magic to combat the witchcraft of her oppressors. The fury of this power also manifests itself with her speaking in Celestial tongues so that her opponents will know the source of their defeat. Ojan would become known by friend and foe alike as the War Witch of Irrisen. She is the blooming flower that provides hope of summer’s return.

Ojan joined the Pathfinder Society in an effort to recruit for the revolution and to gain knowledge that will help in their efforts against the White Witches. She has allied herself with the Silver Crusade and strives to do good in all endeavors. Her willingness to resolve situations through “trial by combat” has upset her faction’s leaders from time to time. She is greatly protective of children and continues to try to liberate those bound by dark magic (including her sisters).

Ojan is an Aasimar. She presents herself as an Ulfen warrior complete with blue war paint. However, she is shorter than the normal Ulfen woman. She also has flowing golden hair and skin without blemish. She is armored is full-plate with that motif of a tree in full bloom on her chest. She carries a greatsword that appears to have a bouquet of living flowers as its hilt.
