About Nusku the Ashen

Origin:

Like most of his kind, Nusku avoids most of so-called civilized society. Unlike most of his kind, it's more due to the fact that
he refuses to disguise himself which usually leads to some at best prejudice and at worst impromptu violence. Honestly this suites
him just fine as he tends to hate almost everyone else. He also tends to hate most animals also but the animals at least have
the sense to stay away. He doesn't remember a whole lot about his family as they were killed while on the road by some "adventurers"
when he was very small. He has been on his own ever since, stealing, hunting, or foraging for food. For a short time, he even worked
for a sect of the goddess Mel Nach. While he was completely on board with the deity's teachings as far as taking what you what as
long as you can get away with it, he found the acolytes a little too intense for his liking. He was just trying to survive which
meant occasionally being cruel, but he never found joy in it. Survival of the fittest or even most clever was the way of the world
and Nusku embraced it.

But even that didn't last forever, so like many Nusku hesitantly joined the Adventurer's guild. His main specialty was often as a guide for hapless commoners through the wilderness or occasionally bringing back a bounty, often dead if that was an option. The pay was horrendous but steady so he put up with it. Hopefully one day he can earn enough money so he can quit and then shut the guildmaster's
loud mouth, permanently. But for now, he bides his time and saves his coppers.

Climb: Nusku have a racial Climb speed of 20 ft., and has a racial +8 bonus to Climb checks.
Gliding Wings: Owing to being born with wings, Nusku takes no damage from falling as though under a constant non-magical Feather fall-effect. In midair, he can move up to 5 ft. in a horizontal direction for every 1 foot they fall, at a speed of 60 ft. per round. He can not gain height with his wings alone, he can only glide. If subjected to a sufficiently strong wind or other effect that causes him to rise, him can avail themselves of the updraft to increase the distance he can glide.
Dark Magic: Once a day, Nusku can use the Detect thoughts and Mindlink spells as spell-like abilities. His caster level for both is equal to his caster level; the save DC is based on their Charisma modifier.
Bite: Nusku is born with sharp, lengthened canines that allows him to make bite attacks equal to 1d6 + Str. modifier. The Bite is a primary attack, or a secondary attack if he is wielding manufactured weapons.
Darkvision: Nusku can see 60 feet even in total darkness. Darkvision is black and white only but otherwise like normal sight.
Prehensile Tail: Nusku is born with a long, flexible tail that can be used to carry objects. He cannot wield weapons with his tails, but he can retrieve small, stowed objects carried upon his person as a swift action.
Light blindness: Abrupt exposure to bright light blinds Nusku for 1 round. On subsequent rounds, he is dazzled so long as he remains in the affected area.
Track: Nusku adds half his level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks.
Animal Focus: At 1st level, as a swift action Nusku can take on the aspect of an animal, gaining a bonus or special ability based on the type of animal emulated. This functions as the hunter’s animal focus class feature, though this only applies to the wild hunter and not an animal companion (see shared focus, below). He can use this ability for 1 minute per day per ranger level. This duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be spent in 1-minute increments. He can only emulate one animal at a time.
This ability replaces all instances of the favored enemy class ability.
Favored Weapon At 1st level, Nusku becomes proficient with the favored weapon of his deity. If his deity’s favored weapon is unarmed strike, he instead gains Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat.
This ability replaces wild empathy.
