Numair, meanwhile simply tries cajoling them. "Just because you have literally gone to Hell, does not mean you have to give up. Remember who you were, and whom you want to be!" Diplomacy, Hell Headache(TM): 1d20 + 23 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 23 - 2 = 35.

Numair raises an eyebrow. "As you are well aware, his soul is held in thrall by Leventi. Any evidence you can provide of laxness on that devil's part will help our case. As for names... True Names hold power. You may simply call me the Grandidierite Sage."
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair arches an eyebrow as he regards the imp. "Well met, Tholvinus. What we want with you is information about your mortal master, Gellius Thrune, and the devil who is keeping his soul in thrall. Ideally, we want to secure his release. As you rightly noted, we did just slay several far more powerful devils than you, so annoying us too much would be a terminal error." Intimidate, Hell Headache (TM): 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 2 = 25.

Numair moves so that he can just see Orange, and fires another volley of force missiles. Magic Missile: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 3, 1) + 5 = 19 Force damage.

Numair moves until he can see a bit of Red, and then peppers her with force missiles. Magic Missile: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 3, 2) + 5 = 19 Force damage.

Numair unleashes another staccato volley of force missiles at Blue. Magic Missile: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 2, 2) + 5 = 20 Force damage.

Not happening :-P If the skull blocks LOS, then I would have to move out of the safety of the group to see her. In which case, the attacks can go into the Blue one.

Numair casts Magic Missile twice at Red, seeking to thin the herd as quickly as possible. Magic Missile: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 4, 4) + 5 = 20 Force damage.
Quickened Magic Missile: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 1, 3) + 5 = 16 Force damage.
I would have cast Fly on Grog, but seeing as he is a 5' step away from an opponent on the ground, I figured it wasn't needed right now ;-)
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
I mean, I figure there is no point going to see Vetrivides until we have evidence to present to them? I am happy to move around within a location, but I don't want to split the party across multiple geographical locations (since we now have, I think, two other places to visit), so I figure waiting for Khellek is our best bet for the moment.
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
I thought I *had* already spoken with the curator. Oh well! Numair ambles off, officiously using Vetrivides' writ to grease the wheels of bureaucracy as much as possible, to try and convince the Curator to furnish them with the relevant contracts (such as Gellius')... Diplomacy, Doodle Aid, Hell Headache(TM): 1d20 + 23 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 23 + 2 - 2 = 43. ...and apparently, continues to be absurdly persuasive! That's it. After two 20s in a row, the rest of the scenario is bound to be garbage for me :-P

Suddenly realising that Khellek is nowhere to be found, Numair attempts to cajole the devil into lending a hand. Diplomacy, Doodle Aid, Hell Headache(TM): 1d20 + 23 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 23 + 2 - 2 = 43.
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
With Doodle and Khellek's assistance, Numair politely asks for access to Gellius Thrune's contract with Leventi, making liberal use of Vetrivides' writ to prove that he has a legal right to do so. Diplomacy, Aidx2, Hell Headache(TM): 1d20 + 23 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 23 + 4 - 2 = 35.
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair grimaces. "From what I understand, publishing 'more accurate' historical accounts is a never-ending process in Cheliax, where 'incorrect' information needs to be constantly excised from the record. Such flagrant disregard for the past is truly distressing!"
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair sighs. "Devils, is it? Well, I suppose it will make a nice change of pace from all of the demons I have been encountering recently... makes me almost nostalgic for the days when I was delving forgotten ruins!" In terms of the talisman, if it is a matter of Bluff or Diplomacy, Numair is probably the best bet.
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
A wiry, weather-beaten mad clad in a simple robe, with a glittering jewel set in the centre of his forehead, strides into the room supported by a darkwood staff, the top of which is shrouded in a nimbus of fire that never consumes the wood, and inclines his head to Khellek in greeting. "Well met again, Khellek. Looking as phlegmatic as ever, I see." He then addresses the room at large. "For those that do not know me, I am Numair Salmalin, the Grandidierite Sage."
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Khellek the historian wrote: What is Wraithsoul recovery? I'd love to be able to use a knowledge skill for my day job. Sorry, I just noticed this - it isn't actually a Day Job; it is a chronicle sheet boon that you make Knowledge checks for, instead of a Day Job.
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair adds, helpfully: "At the sacrifice area (dedicated to the Abyssal Lord Sifkesh), we found the body of a Pathfinder we think is Eiastor Wyrn, based on the Wayfinder we found with the body. There was also something like a tonne of abyssal-infused stones, which made anyone in contact with them susceptible to self-harm magic. Not being able to bring them back with us, we sealed off the chamber in which they were kept, to try and prevent them being used and abused."
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair nods gravely. "Agreed. However, there is just *so much* stone, that it probably isn't feasible to take it all with us." A thought then occurs to him. "Perhaps we could just seal them in? The tube we passed through wasn't exactly a Taldan Imperial Highway..." Perhaps Khellek could use Loremaster on Knowledge(Engineering) to detect rock faults, that Kyra could accentuate with Stone Shape, and then Numair could use repeated Fireball to initiate a catastrophic cave-in?
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair nods in satisfaction and grins at Khellek. "Ah, to be young again!" He then pummels Mogla-Tor with a volley of force missiles. Magic Missile: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 1, 1) + 5 = 14.
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Figuring Grog has Mogla-Tor sorted, Numair tries to free Khellek from Yellow's grasp, with a powerful rejoinder. Magic Missile: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 2, 2) + 5 = 15 Force damage.
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
"I don't need to see you to roast you!" Numair air-blasts another Fireball, catching Red and Mogla-Tor. Fireball: 9d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 1, 5, 2, 2, 4, 1) = 28 Fire damage. DC 24 Reflex for half.
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair is not so foolish as to land, but stays comfortably up in the air. "Well then, there you have it. How would you like your end to go? 'Original recipe' skewers (crossbow bolt)... or 'Extra crispy' (Fireball)?"
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair nods to Cenae. "Hmm... Better decapitate her, just to be safe." Re: The Optional Encounter, I do not mind either way :-) He then taps Grog a few times, to show willing. Wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7.
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair breathes a sigh of relief. "Now, the world is a slightly better place..." Ever-practical, he then checks the bodies for clues / loot. If she was Summoned, sure, but is she was Gated in, the body wouldn't disappear...?
'The Grandidierite Sage' Male Half-Elf Sorceror 10 (HP 82/82) (AC 17/10/17) (CMD 13) (Fort +8, Ref +5, Will +9) (Init +6) (Perception +23)
Numair concentrates, and sends a brace of force missiles cascading into the mermaid succubus. Spell Resistance: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 2 = 27.
