Maybe I, Nicaros, would benefit greatly from this new form of rogue. I'll definitely will have to look into it

The Exchange

I heard there were changes to the minor and major magic and something called signature skill feat?

The Exchange

I was wondering if with the counterfeit mage archetype would be good with the new unchained rogue setup? I don't want to by the book yet unless this would work.

Crystal chakram anyone ?

They're a thrown weapon, function as ammunition (concerning enchants, and being destroyed after hitting, 50% if miss), and they crit on 18...

What are those in? I never seen those before

The Exchange

Thank you all for your input I'll talk to my GM's to see what they say

You can make them out of regular Stone instead. I don't think it has the weapon type limitation.

And hey... isn't obsidian a type of stone? Well, glass I suppose...

Sadly stone has the limitation of bludgeoning weapons and arrow tips and it doesn't help lower the cost of the said weapon like obsidian.

1 gold = 1 normal chakram or
1 gold = 2 obsidian chakram

It makes it a lil easier if you want a character that specialize in range and cant afford returning weapons yet.

Yeah, went to check it out later. The parsing is arguable, but still doesn't help with thrown.

"(Light) and (one-handed bludgeoning) weapons" or "(light and one-handed) (bludgeoning) weapons.

True but a chakram is able to be used in Melee and is consider to be a one-handed weapon

For what it's worth, Herolab considers a Chakram to be a one-handed weapon when used in Melee. Not a definitive source, but just wanted to throw that out there.

Thank you for your input

It's not going to get you a spell list for using magical devices without UMD skill, for example.

This is why I was asking the question. I wanted to know that if it was possible to use wands and scrolls that are in the rogues spellbook without a UMD

I, the great Nicaros, was curious about the said feat bookish rogue. I am a performer at best and was wondering if this would technically give me a spell list of 0/1st level wizard/sorcerer spells

Quote:
Bookish Rogue: By studying a spellbook for 10 minutes, you can change one spell you are able to case using your minor magic or major magic rogue talent to one sorcerer/wizard spell of the same level contained in the spellbook. This change is permanent until you take the time to change it via this feat again.

I would like other opinions on this so I may have a valid point toward my GM.

The Exchange

So was that a confirmation or not that itll be allowed

There's a reason they didn't make the "blind" Oracle curse actual blindness. It's really rough unless you have blindsight or something.

Idea: Fungal eyes. Gross, unless you fluff them as something like super-hearing or tremorsense.

If you just want to be blind, it really is a "talk to the GM" category for ideas of how to mitigate the penalties. The blind condition does state that creatures blinded for a long time learn to overcome some penalties, but how is up to the GM.

Fungal eyes would be an awesome idea tho it cost way to much

I don't remember the profiencies, so apologies if this isn't valid due to proficieines. but.

you could carry chakram and a rope dart to use until yo uget called shakram (called imo is better than returning. Because you can move and have it return. only problem is it returns via swift action. But. you can only catch 2 returning chakram anyway due to not having an action to put the caught chakram away. So really not a big difference except called has way more utility saftey.
both are a stop gap until blinkback belt

Well im using my tiefling that has a tail so if needed i got that seeing as far as I can see 3 will be the limit I can throw

Seriously consider being a Spirit Guide Life Oracle with the Blind Curse instead. It literally does everything you want (multiple channel pools, paragon surge, being blind) better.

I thought about this but it kinda defeat the purpose cause your not actually blind your just basically near-sighted

The Exchange

Thanks for all your insight and I was actually planning on making a slayer that throws multiple chakram in one turn and until I can get two with returning making them out of a obsidian would be cheaper to by in bulk... But I guess I can always do the percentage roll to see if I had lost them

The Exchange

Is it possible to make chakram out of obsidian? Im just curious

The Exchange

I already have most of it plan out... Him being a healing face type character and taking traits towards it.. Even took blind fight so I dont take as many penalty. I was even thinking about doing a single dip into maybe a feral hunter so to use the wolf aspect if I have to... As I said before tho this is mainly a concept character I wanted to build and to be honest if he makes it past lvl 3 ill be surprise

As for this i thought about it but it still allows him too see which kinda defeats the idea I was going for

Okay thank you I was curious about this too

The Exchange

Im building this built as a blind shaman half elf boy and I was curious how this would work exactly
