Mokrim wrote: "It could be," Mokrim answered, peering at the food in surprise. "Some of my father's men wear metal shirts like that. It's not unlikely that he sent someone this way, either." Yes, it would seem normal for him to have someone check on the pylon as well from time to time. I know he's very secret about how he runs things, you wouldn't know, would you?"

Once Oscus is safely behind, Nial chimes in. "Well if there's someone else mounted going that way, he may not be alone. With such an armor and alone, he's likely not one of LLewelyn's rangers. Do you think it's one of yours, Mokrim?" "Oh, by the way, someone has seen we won't did of starvation tonight,", he adds, pointing to the bread and cheese.

Nial looks quizzically at the height where the bag is hung. Either this man is very tall or he's afraid bears will grab his things. Bending down, he checks the man's tracks to see if they could indicate he is far heavier/taller than a normal man. Survival check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Nial shoulders his pack easily and follow the group out of the farm house. There, he takes out a sling and a pouch containing stone bullets and tie them to his waist. In his left hand, he carries a steel headed hammer with a worn wooden handle. In his hands, the tool seem to weight close to nothing as he balances it on the shoulder. As Bolt joins the group, he greet him with a friendly nod.

Nial observes with scepticism the intensive library research going on. As they discover useful data, he comes closer, listening to the discoveries and taking close note of the information on the sigils. My grand-father told me once that his grand father spoke of people able to write down magical symbols and sort of transform weapons so that they could keep their edge forever or burn their targets. Maybe these symbols do something like that.

Nial makes his way to Kearan's farm. Once there, he settles and proposes his skills if there is anything he can repair. As every one eventually arrives, he looks to every one. "I suppose we need to organize ourselves if we want to start as soon as possible." Turning to the elven scout and the towering farmer, he askes. "Kearan and Caelreth, both of you seem to know most about the local situation. If we want to work together, we need to design someone to lead this expedition. I propose it be one of you." For a pure metagaming point of view and specially with that many players, we need to have a "player representative". I've seen PbP that stall because no decision can swiftly be made, especially if we wait for every one to chime in once or twice. The best way to avoid that is to have a designed player that can decide of the party course when necessary and when the GM asks for it. It's also easier if the player's character is also a leader.

This weird man is definitely not from here. I haven't heard anyone speaking about someone like him. I'll have to keep him in my sight, together with Mokrim... When the sheriff tells about the mission, Nial tears himself from his thoughts. These men were the first ones he sent to investigate something I guess. And we're the second team he wants to send. This must be pretty serious. "You have my word.", he replies clearly to the sheriff question.

And another one. That's a lot of muscle. It must be pretty dire if that many people are gathered. Enjoying the banter, Nial tries to remember all the names and to recall what he knows of them. Okay. Brine and Mokrim I know from Oakenhaven. Merle is often in Oakhaven, selling his junk. This prime and next the tall guy Kearan must be from around here. And then there is this Bolt fellow who does not seem to like Mokrim. He reminds me of someone... "Damn!" says Nial suddenly, dropping his glass in the process. Now I remember the story about his father. He'll recognize me as well if he has not, So I can as well come out first. "Sorry about that. For the last to come, I'm Niall, one of the smiths of Oakenhaven. And I'm as eager as you to know why he has gathered so many of us."

Damn, swears Niall recognising the Oakhaven uniform then the bearer. One of Dashiel crownies. What is he doing here? I better make sure he's not up to something. "Have a seat, Mokrim", says Niall casually. "I did not realize you were invited there. We could have traveled together."

Weary from this long trip, Nial climbs up the ladder and sits down on a bench, helping himself on the food without waiting anyone. Nial has the massive built common in his family and even sitting, he looks too tall for the surrounding furniture. In the dim light, his brown eyes sometime seem to lit with a fiery golden light. His leather armor is heavily singed by his work at the forge and resting at his feet lies a large smith hammer.
Hi SdF, Here is my submission for your Serpent Skull AP. The full Character sheet with background is in the Alias as requested. I'm currently playing in two other PbP, Chris Mortika Sumbering Tsar as Alia Wolfsdottir and Nightflyer Mignight game as Gilian. My idea for your game was to play someone of Mwangi descendance that had never seen the Expanse itself so as to keep the discovery factor intact. I've named his parent's tribe in the background but that's just a radom name that could be easily modified o tie it more to the adventure path. One last point, I will be on holiday without computer access for a week from the 6th of august to the 13th then for another week from the 21st to the 29th of August. I understand this could be a blocking point for you as tis will interfere with the start of the game. That's why I wanted to tell you beforehand. Llaelian |
