While we have not played Wild Shape or Beast Shape in our playtests I see a couple of issues that hopefully someone can address:
1) The Animal Type only grants low light vision, "Darkvision 60'" should be redacted from the spell and replaced with "Blindsense 30'".
2) There is no description or discussion about what happens with items do they meld? What happens to any enhancement bonuses? Is the base creature Natural AC used? The spell as several unanswered questions...
I would suggest trying the following changes:
A) Aside from removing Darkvision (see above) the Beast Shape spells would be amended to include the following rules:
B) All the items meld and lose power, but bonuses granted by spells still remain. But magic items lose meld and cease to function.
C) The Druid also gets a natural attack (The natural attack would be a bite, claw, or slam as appropriate) that increases with each version of the Beast Shape spell... e.g. Beast Shape I grants a natural attack. At first level and the natural attack would do 1d6 damage for a medium creature or 1d4 for a small. Subsequent versions of the spell would increase these bonuses: Beast Shape II grants natural Attack that does 1d8 damage for medium and 1d6 for small (modified according for other sized shapes), etc.
D) The Natural Armor bonuses seem a little low (increase by 1 across the board?) but I will try them as written. :)
Thanks for the venue,
Jeff
