![]() Oh, what's the worst that can happen? Oh, all right. If the statue doesn't approach the beach, He will begin to cast Summon Monster 3 to summon a later archon. If I have enough time, it should (hopefully) be able to fly to you and pick you up before you go over... ![]()

![]() Arcana Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 Balls! It's a glass golem! It's immune to most everything! That includes death effects, disease, mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects), necromancy effects, paralysis, poison, sleep, and stun. Don't bother with nonlethal damage, ability damage, ability drain, fatigue, exhaustion, or energy drain. Now we know what killed those two grey maidens! If you can't make it to the beach, try to get it to follow you over the falls. If it follows, it should get trapped down there. If the golem moves off the island, especially if it moves toward the beach, Naxolel will double move back through the door. If it doesn't he'll cast bless. does Naxolel know how deep the water is? ![]() Freak Out Roll, low is bad: 1d20 ⇒ 2 Naxolel begins shaking violently, pointing at the statue! I freakin told you statues are evil and are out to freakin kill us! Naxolel won't run, but no way in hell is he ever going to set foot on that island with that statue intact! Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Done ![]()

![]() Sorry - a bit busy yesterday. Checked email when I got home, but didn't get to the message board before crashing. *sigh* Flynras, you never know when the maidens could catch up if they haven't already passed us downstairs. But point taken. We definitely need to re equip. I've got a long list now. Hmmm. I wonder if I could possibly prepare some scrolls during our return trip... Sure, let's regroup in Magnimar and come back soonest. We need to remember to take the chest back with us. I wonder if we can trap the portal to the basement before we go, though... ![]()

![]() Brighten, thanks for the heads up that the next encounter will be very difficult. I agree that if it has the potential for turning out very bad for us it's probably best to do it in person and with everyone present. I've got no problem with also prepping a replacement character should it get that bad. Assuming it might not be a TPK and we'd still need a healer, I'll go with the Aasimar cleric we were talking about... ![]()

![]() Naxolel was originally standing in the NE square of the pool room (I had said I was standing in the poolroom outside the door when I was detecting magic). You reaffirmed that in a subsequent post, which jives with my intent. Of course, maybe this is a better place for Drav... lol Instead of nothing, though, I'll cast Mage Armor on myself. Belle, I suggested you cast the spell while in the pool room to avoid risking *you bodily* triggering a potential symbol spell - let the summoned creature do so if necessary! But hopefully the bat will fly over the symbol without triggering it! Make sense? Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 Done. ![]()

![]() Sorry, then - I completely forgot about the "done" tag. But it's a great idea - probably a good idea for all of us... I also didn't realize I could do both an Arcana check and a spellcraft check if the first roll failed.. Flynras, there's no need to enter the room. This could become important in case there's some kind of blast affect. If touching the circle triggers a summoning, you probably don't want to get caught in the room either. Belle should be able to conjure the dire bat from the central room, so she doesn't need to go in either. Done. ![]()
Male Elf Cleric 5/Wizard1 | 34/34 HP | xx Arrows
![]() Brighten, thanks for the option, but your post describing the spellcraft options hadn't posted yet when I posted my message. When I posted, it looked like you described the room without responding to my detect magic invocation... I'm not really that effing dense, though it may seem like I'm trying hard. Though, I do take the point about how you add "done" at the end of your posts - I never considered how that may be used to signal whether our post was completed/final. Maybe we should all do that? Knowledge Arcana Check on the Circle: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14. Naxolel squints hard at the circle... I don't know Flynras, I can't make anything out and the book is too far away to identify. Both the circle and book have strong magical auras, though - as strong as your and Drav's shards! For that reason, I don't trust the circle. Perhaps Belle should give it a shot? Hmmm. Perhaps an alternative might be to summon a creature to walk through the circle. If it's a trap, it would get caught in it instead of us? Done. ![]()

![]() Sorry Flynras, I don't usually prepare message. But I'm sure Belle has it at the ready... let me cast detect magic from outside the doorway to see if there's any magic in this room. That pentagram definitely looks like it could be some sort of magic circle or perhaps an arcane spell. Remember we just found that scroll of symbol of sleep, though if I remember correctly most symbol spell traps trigger once you get within 60'... hmmmm. I invoke Nethys to reveal magic fields and magical items in the room. I'll focus for several rounds to get the fullest benefit. Brighten, are you giving me the stats for mage hand as the spellcraft knowledge that's available to us? In which square is the book again? Is there anything else on the bench in the back left corner? ![]()

![]() I am trained in healing. Can I make a heal check to treat everyone for their disease, giving folks a competency bonus of +4 if I make the DC? Ghoul Fever: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 if I understand this correct, then my FORT save means I avoided the damage, right? If that is so, would I know I need to cast remove disease on myself? Before I cast remove disease, would I know whether Flynras needed healing? I presume the damage from the fever would be apparent, right? ![]()
Male Elf Cleric 5/Wizard1 | 34/34 HP | xx Arrows
![]() Ah, just commented on that. I contracted ghoul fever from the bats. I don't know about Belle, though. I thought I had made a heal check to know whether I was diseased. If so, Nax would make damn sure he healed himself, hence the reason to prepare as many remove disease and lesser restoration as possible... ![]()

![]() We can hold until next week or perhaps at least until Jerry is back. To address your other points, the order you mention them: 1. Sounds good, though it might be good to report back to the folks in the sunburst room what happened in the second room before moving on to the third room. In fact, I'd encourage those in the sunburst room to get within support range before we bother with the third room. 2. Sure thing! 3. Is this a subtle suggestion that the third room is going to kill us ;) Regardless, sounds like a good idea. My most fl shed out idea was for an Aasimar cleric, which I think we discussed once (I figured we would need a replacement healer if Naxolel got shwacked). I was also playing with a concept for a boondocks saints style Paladin (still trying to figure out the build - straight Paladin seems insufficient...hmm...a couple ranks of gunslinger? What god, though? Iomede?) and was interested in trying out an oracle or an alchemist at some point. "No one seemed to care." I'm genuinely not trying to be argumentative, but I think it's more accurate to say that no one objects enough with your inclination to the point of making it an issue/arguing about it. I'm good with whatever you prefer. As I've said before, i kinda enjoy the more gritty feel of Pathfinder because it goes almost completely the other way when I play 5e - it balances out. ![]()

![]() Naxolel slowly eases up to the room with the stone slabs and casts detect magic across the room, making special note of how the stone slabs, manacles, and bookcase register. If he doesn't detect potential danger, he'll step up to the book stand and take the book. If he detects a potential magic threat, he'll relay the news to the others and hold position. ![]()
Male Elf Cleric 5/Wizard1 | 34/34 HP | xx Arrows
![]() Sorry, I don't have message prepared. Might I suggest I cast spdetect magic in the room first? perhaps the stone platforms or floor design serve some magical or religious purpose? It recalls to mind the starburst mosaic... Also, if there was an alchemy lab perhaps one of these is some sort of magic library (bookshelves)? I definitely want to see those books, too. ![]()

![]() Surveying the burns covering his and Drav's exposed skin, Naxolel shakes his head curtly and begins chanting... Channel Energy: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6) = 13 I feel GREAT! Ah, but my barbarian friend needs more healing. Nethys will tend to your wounds! Cure Light Wounds x 4: 1d8 + 5 + 1d8 + 5 + 1d8 + 5 + 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 + (5) + 5 + (4) + 5 + (2) + 5 = 33 hp of divine healing to Drav Whew! That really took the gas out of me. Friends, I have only two more prayers of healing left. But I still have some arcane spells. I'm sure that should be enough to clear the last two rooms so we can rest in safety. Let's do this! ![]()
Male Elf Cleric 5/Wizard1 | 34/34 HP | xx Arrows
![]() Oh well, it was a thought... I just know it's going to be awhile before we'll be able to buy more children's sized arrows. I'm I correct, you cast 1 cure mod wounds on my behalf (And I healed 19 hp since I heal 2d8+5 since I'm a level 5 cleric)? Is that all you cast? If so, let's finish these rooms after I channel energy once and than cast cure light wounds to finish up the damage on Drav... ![]()
Male Elf Cleric 5/Wizard1 | 34/34 HP | xx Arrows
![]() I gotta go all. Again, my intent is to go to the south part of the sunburst room. I will probably then burn a second level spell slot to cast cure mod wounds on myself. If the oozes aren't yet in sight, then I'd do it again. If they are in sight, I'd probably cast spiritual weapon using the wand. Good luck! Naxolel would warn everyone to watch whether they slide into the pool. They would probably be near invisible in the pool...
