Constructed (Ex): For the purposes of effects targeting creatures by type (such as bane weapons and a ranger’s favored enemy ability), androids count as both humanoids and constructs. Androids gain a +4 racial bonus on all saving throws against mind-affecting effects, paralysis, poison, and stun effects; are not subject to fatigue or exhaustion; and are immune to disease and sleep effects. Androids can never gain morale bonuses, and are immune to fear effects and all emotion-based effects.
Nanite Surge (Ex): An android’s body is infused with nanites. Once per day as an immediate action, an android can cause his nanites to surge, granting him a bonus equal to 3 + the android’s character level on any one d20 roll; this ability must be activated before the roll is made. When an android uses this power, his circuitry-tattoos glow with light equivalent to that of a torch for 1 round.

Physical Description: To the untrained eye, Nariya appears to be an attractive female human with fair skin and violet hair. Upon closer look, however, her true nature can be seen. Her eyes are a vibrant violet in color that possess a soft metallic sheen to them in the right light. She wears simple clothing common among adventurers, to include sturdy boots and leather breeches, combined with a vest of studded leather worn beneath her jacket. The only weaponry visible on her is the light crossbow kept at her left hip and a bandoleer across her torso loaded with a few crossbow bolts. Hanging from her right hip is a slightly burned book, its title rather difficult to make out.

Personality: Nariya is a very curious and inquisitive individual. She tends to look at everything as though it were a puzzle needing to be solved. She befriends those she spends time around rather quickly and thoroughly enjoying their presence. She will fight fiercely to defend those she calls friends, even if it isn’t the best course of action. Her greatest passion is to expand the powers her mind has over the nanites in her body, intent on pushing herself to new levels of what she considers perfection of mind and body.

Background:

Nariya remembers nothing of her body’s former lives. She awoke in a small workshop in Numeria that doubled as a shrine dedicated to the Goddess of Invention, Brigh. She spent the first few years after her awakening learning about the teachings of Brigh, even dabbling in the engineering and mechanical craftsmanship a little. She found herself becoming close to the non-androids that cared for her and protected her from the ever watchful eye of Technic League, even feeling sorrow when her friends left the settlement and joy when old friends returned. It was after one such occasion that she realized that she was different from other androids and she became curious about her origins and the microscopic nanites coursing through her body.
During many long hours, she meditated and focused on her nanites, wondering if she could exert more control over them than others of her kind. Her meticulous work and diligence paid off, for eventually she discovered that she could indeed control her nanites to a much greater degree and use them to perform extraordinary feats. She learned to manipulate them into small objects, such as hand tools, as well as use them to manipulate the world around her. Excitedly, she showed her friends at the workshop her newfound abilities.
Unfortunately, Nariya was a little careless in her exuberance. A visitor, secretly an agent of the Technic League, was visiting the settlement when he heard of her unique abilities and sent word back to his superiors. Days later, a force of Technic League agents arrived in town intent on finding and capturing the android. They ordered the townsfolk to surrender Nariya to them, but they refused. In response, the Technic League attacked the town. Using their technological superiority, they quickly overwhelmed the townsfolk and razed many buildings in the settlement.
Nariya was furious. Where others used simple magic or weapons, Nariya’s greatest weapon was her Mind. In her anger she focused her nanites into a weapon and shield of powerful force to protect herself from attacks. As she was preparing to defend herself and her friends, a blast from some technological weapon ripped through the workshop, destabilizing the structure and ultimately collapsing it on top of her.
The blast and the collapsed building nearly killed her, but her nanites had revived her and helped her heal. When she emerged from the rubble, the town was in ruins. No living soul remained, the Technic League long gone after failing to find her. Picking through the rubble for supplies, she found a slightly copy of Brigh’s holy text, Logic of Design, with only minor burns and decided to keep it close as a memento of her time in the workshop. As there was nothing left for her in her former home, she decided to leave and get as far away from Numeria and the Technic League as she possibly could.
Eventually, Nariya found herself at an inn somewhere between Riddleport and Magnimar. Low on funds, she has decided to try and find work using her knowledge and skills.
