Appearance
Nanette is a willowy young woman of average height, dark hair, and deep blue eyes. At first glimpse, she seems every bit the refined and proper lady she was raised to be, but close observers will note that this is a facade that hides her sharp wit and independent spirit. While her family is relatively wealthy, she refuses to flaunt it in the way she dresses. Her clothing is always of good quality, but she prefers comfort to fashion, and she avoids unnecessary ornamentation.
Background
Nanette is the youngest daughter of Luc Delacroix, the scion of a long line of merchants and industrialists. Presently her family is involved in several business ventures, but it was the orphanage where Nanette spent the majority of her time. Her empathy for the orphans was profound, and caused no shortage of conflict within her family. Largely due to her insistance, conditions for the children have improved greatly over the last decade. She counts the children as friends... especially Simon. As children, he was more like a brother to her - but in recent years, that relationship has blossomed into something deeper.
Current Life
Perhaps because of her exposure to the orphans, or maybe due to a heightened sense of noblesse oblige, Nanette has developed an idealogical view that sometimes puts her at odds with the class-conscious society of her family. Seeing the great need of so many, she realized that there was a real shortage of medical care for those who lacked financial resources. She gained admission into the Academy to study medicine, and believes that she can make a difference.
