About Nailah Abusir

Nailah has long, straight black hair, dark brown eyes, and olive skin. She wears a white dress with a fiery red sash from Jalmaray, and a pair of leather sandals. Black tattoos spiral across her fingers, intricately displaying the phrase "disciple of the ancestors" in Ancient Osiriani, and a well-tended curved blade often hangs at her waist. In combat, she wears a resplendent set of fullplate armor and carries a heavy shield, as well as a wide assortment of weapons.

Nailah is haunted by the spirits of ancient warriors from all over the world, who have taught her how to fight.

Nailah grew up as a part of a family of Osirian traders based in Eto. A little over six years ago, her family's cart was attacked by gnolls. As the gnolls charged to attack, Nailah saw the spectral form of an ancient Osirian warrior demonstrating how to swing a sword. Without thought or hesitation, she dove into the trade cart, pulled out the ancient khopesh that they were taking to the markets of Sothis, and with a well placed blow, chopped one of the gnolls in two. The others scattered to search for easier targets.
After the attack, warrior spirits started to congregate around her. These spirits started moving her things around whenever she left them unattended. She attributed the misplaced items to absentmindedness until other people started noticing objects moving of their own accord any time she set them down. Soon, she began to notice these spirits too, which no one else could see or hear.
Intrigued and baffled by these strange occurences, Nailah and her family sought answers from the church of Pharasma, and from the sages of Sothis. It was this inquiry that brought her to the attention of agents of the Sapphire Sage, who explained that her power was a great gift from that ancestors, and that it would be only right for her to use it to help discover and rebuild Osirion's rich traditions. They directed her to the Pathfinder Society. Between her wanderlust, her nationalistic pride, and her desire to explore battle inspired by the ancient spirits, Nailah decided that the Pathfinder society would be a perfect fit. She took the khopesh as her own weapon and set off for Absalom. This khopesh feels more natural in her hand than any other weapon.

After leaving Osirion, Nailah's visions expanded to include warriors from nations all over Golarion. She almost constantly sees and hears spectral forms fighting around her, sometimes stopping to give her advice, or to berate her current choice of weapon. As a result, she is frequently distracted and has trouble noticing what is going on around her, and is somewhat out of touch with reality.

Nailah respects the warriors of many nations, and therefore respects most of her fellow Pathfinders. However, she believes in the greatness of old (and now new) Osirion with an almost Taldan fervor, which in her case breeds an inherent suspicion and distrust of all Kelishite people. This often translates into a low opinion of Qadirans, who she satirizes as greedy idiots with no respect for culture or tradition, a view which one of her frequent traveling companions, a Taldan noble, has reinforced.
