So I suspect the answer is "No, alchemists do not cast spells and as such these racial traits would not apply to their extracts." but out of a desire to be thorough I wanted to bring it up just in case.

What I'm talking about is stuff like the Mordant Envoy racial trait for half-elves which says "Half-elves from mountainous regions add +1 to the caster level of any transmutation spells they cast." So if I prepared a transmutation extract would I treat it as +1 caster level?

Thanks in advance.

I would personally rule that no, you could not, simply because by and large Spell-like abilities do not use material components and reagents are used as material components to a spell.

I agree, I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't an existing ruling on it that I wasn't aware of.

So I'm putting together a character who I think it makes sense for him to be a light drug user, and Bloodbrush Extract is exactly something he would use. I was wondering though, because in the PDF it says Bloodbrush Extract is a mild addiction, but on the SRD the section for severity of addictions is only Minor, Moderate, and Severe, and I was wondering where mild fits into that. Any answer at all is appreciated.

Well depending on your race you might get it from that, as any character with a fly speed treats fly as a class skill. Which off the top of my head is Strix, Wyvaran, and Syrinx.

In addition a large number of races can pick up the fey thoughts alternate racial trait, which lets you add two skills from the list as class skills, among which is fly.

In addition it looks like Falconine picks up a fly speed at level 12, which would grant you fly as a class skill.

I'm sure there's other things that would help you out but this is just off the top of my head, hope it helped! Good luck!
