I've worked in corrections for 14 years. Over the course of my career, I've work every custody level from minimum to super-max and I've held a wide variety of security and administrative positions. Anyone who stated, "The only thing that separates some people from those in prison was one bad day." would definitely be watched closely. Another phrase bandied about by inmate advocates is, "The only difference between the inmates and us is that they got caught." Most people are not capable of murder. Every inmate in prison is there because of a decision that they made. They chose to steal, they chose to rape, they chose to murder, they chose to hurt children. We humans have control over our actions and most of us are not in danger of losing control and committing these monstrous acts. Those people that are unable to control themselves belong in prison. Those people would consider it a bad day if they were caught, but not if a crime was committed. You might argue that drugs or alcohol caused them to lose control. I will argue that was a choice as well. And I make that argument while I teach substance abuse awareness class. Anyone who feels they are only one bad day away from kicking in a door and raping/murdering/molesting/or stealing from the unfortunate family on the other side needs to seek psychiatric help immediately. Prisons are horrible places, because of the horrible people that are locked away there. That being said, nobody deserves to be raped.
That 4e version of Obama has way too much experience. In my game at least, you have to participate to get xp. You can't just say "Present" and expect to get anywhere. Otherwise, it looks ok. I don't know if you could pull off having a Barack Paladin in 3.5 though. 4e has no alignment restriction on paladins. 3.5 prohibits paladins from associating with evil characters like Bill Ayers.
before you go, please have some high praise for your efforts and your excellent work... We're not worthy! We're not worthy! We're not worthy! Lord Alarik The Fool wrote:
I think my group found a design flaw yesterday. When a card declares that a saving throw negates an effect, what is the DC for the saving throw? The rules cards included with the deck don't say. The critical hit deck stated that the confirmation roll would be the DC for the saving throw. With the fumble deck, where the confirmation roll will be a low number, that doesn't make sense.

The thread looks like it's in the right place. That picture is great. Exactly as I pictured her. Great idea for developing diamondback. In my own campaign, she is beyond redemption. A hired assassin in the employ of the Kellani family. I am adding a few more encounters with diamondback. She's too great a villain to use only once. :) My group has just finished TINH and one of my players discovered that his adopted father's ship was scheduled to be "holed." The session ended with that character heading to check on his father. When he gets there, he will will encounter diamondback and the bodies of several slain crew members. I am also buffing her up by giving her the lucky coin from the Tome of Artifacts. This will increase her survivability dramatically.

The badge of passage is a relic from an early draft of the adventure. The designers originally intended teleportation to be impossible without a badge of passage. They later decided that this would be a bad idea and scrapped the idea. I think that someone figured out that 4 war ape brutes with Ulu-Thurg would make a EL22 encounter.

To create a drop down list in excel, click the "Data" menu, then Validation. on the settings tab select "List" then highlight which cells contain the names you want to list. The list is hidden at the top of the A column. The monster's data is hidden lower down on the page. Tracerbullet42 is, I think, going to upload the spreadsheet to therpgenius.com soon. Thanks, dude.

I'm going to be wrapping up part 5 in a couple of weeks, and they have been handy. I have compiled an Excel spreadsheet with stat blocks for every adventure in the STAP. It's great if you have a computer handy when you play. It's pretty big though (1.6mb).

The article in Dragon 355 assumes that you check out the "iDragon" iMix on iTunes. All of the suggested songs are there. Click "Music" in the first box under itunes store, then click iMixes, then search for iDragon. The writers of the article were nice enough to list all of the songs there for easy download. "Main Theme" is from 1942-Conquest of Paradise. The album is "Cinema Choral Classics" I plan on using all of these songs and more. A great resource for music is the "Galbadia Hotel" website. The soundtracks from hundreds of video games are there for free download. For example, I am going to use the Diablo Hellfire Cinematic intro for the savage tide sound effect. Weird unearthly chanting followed by an explosion noise and then the shrieks and gibbering of demons. Perfect. :) htt p://gh.ffshrine.org/song/2729/4 Your Welcome, Christian |
