sorry for not posting for a while.
Thomas and Ronin did you make your resistance rolls for being hit by the SMG spray? (-5 to defence because it was a full-auto shot) Ronin's second shot misses Grace needs to post her second for second INIT pass. The biker thrown over his handle bars by neonspiders 'jinx' painfully gets to his feet a pistol and fires in graces direction but misses. the other two bikers screech to a stop and unload the SMGs into the cutter crew pulling the Med-capsule back towards the ship. One of the crew goes down under the onslaught but the other survives by ducking down behind the med-capsule which starts emitting an alarm as bullets strike it. A gout of green flame flashes out of the cutters hold lighting up the dock. Anyone with a third INIT pass post your actions.

Initiative:
Graces second shots fly wide or harmlessly impact on the bikers armor. the two mounted bikers fire a burst at Ronin, Thomas and the two crewmen as they drive by, but don't fire at the captain. Both Thomas and Ronin take one hit (-5 to defensive pools because of full auto). One of the crewmen is also hit but dosn't fall. The two crewman pull out hand guns (Ares Predator 2's) point them at Thomas and Ronin and start to pull the med-capsule back towards the cutter. Thomas is up.

Ronin: You hit the your target forcing himn to lay down his bike to take cover. The cutter Capt. starts yelling orders, stops mid-sentance turns points at Ronin and Thomas and in a monotone voice orders the near by crewmen to kill them. Grace is up.

The impact of Grace's shot knocks the Ancient off his bike sending her and the bike skidding in different directions. Neonspider finds some cover with a vantage point overlooking the meet. All hell breaks loose on the pier at the sound of gunfire, the crew helping load the body stop what they are doing and draw weapons. The captain starts shouting orders as an aqua-green energy flows around his body.
Neonspider: Spoiler:
If you are assisting the sprite it would be a complex action. If you are just giving the sprite a comand it is a free action. Initiative:
Neonspider is up.

You manage to catch sight of the thing that you’ve been seeing in the corner of your eye. You as sense a water spirit flowing around the pier. The spirit slithers past you and up the gang plank and into the cutter. Grace: Spoiler: You hear the sound of bikes (4) approaching from both side of the pier.

The ships mate looks looks over Ronin, Thomas and Tweeker with half open eyes for about half a minute before turning turning to his crew on deck and shouts out orders in Javanese. Looking back at Thomas and Ronin says "Codes check out, we bring out package".

The team pulls up to the pier and finds their hiding positions. At the appointed time you send the coded signal and get the correct response. A few minutes later you hear the faint sounds of engines and the sound of a boat traveling through the water. The jet-black cutter pulls up to the pier and two of the crew lowers a gangplank. A short Javanese man looks over the surrounding area before walking over to Thomas and Ronin, “you no look like Evo, van no match Evo are you Evo”? Thomas or Ronin your response.

NeonSpider wrote: Ok guys I am gonna be honest I am really lost on whats going on here. Can I get a rundown on just whats going on? After getting the job and stopping the van, you haul it to Crisno's shop to fix/examine it. The van turned out to be a mobile ICU in disguise with a S.I. (satisfactory intelligence, a high-level semi autonomous skill-soft) running it.The Ancients were going to send a plant on the mission to betray Mr. Johnson and take the delivery for themselves but Ronin’s contact stole the meeting info and gave it to Ronin, this is how Ronin got into the mission. The Ancients still want the package and began to harass and threaten Ronin’s contact to get it.
The team called a few of their contacts and found out that Evo Inc. is going to deliver the ‘weapon’ to the Three Tigers triad, an enemy of both the Ancients and the Yakuza.
Grace contracted a street doc w/ambulance to replace the Evo pick-up van. The team is now setting up at the pier and waiting for the delivery ship to arrive. You have about four hours back-time to prep programs and check for info or whatever, also tell me where you are going to on the pier map.

Thomas Chance: Spoiler: The Yakuza and the Mafia would never use bio-weapons; they want their victims and everybody around them to know who is attacking them. The meta-human gangs like the Ancients and Mama Grobi's boys would be violently opposed to anyone using bio-weapons. The Triads, Humanis and Alamos 20k would use bio-weapons without hesitation.
Lone Star is 'required' to turn any materials that can endanger the public health over to UCAS homeland security but rumors say that Lone Star would probably keep it for themselves if the UCAS Feds don't know about it. Lone Star does have a haz-mat unit for dealing with toxic materials.

The only Doc I know that doesn’t file paperwork is a guy named Tweeker. He runs a "free clinic" for BLT addicts in Puyallup; He lost his license a few years ago for performing unethical medical treatments. Lone Star looks the other way because he helps us out very once in a while and the clinic is the only help the SINless get. After a harrowing hour of playing hide and please don't find me with Lone Star you get the van tucked away in Crisno's shop and then Crisno and his buddy Happy start working on the van’s front end. Neon Spider: Spoiler:
Your search bot finally managed turned up information about the cutter that is bringing in the package. The Makiko has been flagged by the FBI as a known smuggler working for the Three Tigers triad. Three Tigers are a new gang that managed to carve a small territory from the ancients and the mafia. They are known to be very violent and reckless with collateral damage they cause. Six months before they blew up a restaurant during the dinner rush because the owner informed on them. Ronin: Spoiler:
On your way to the shop you listen to a frantic message from mouse. You can barely understand her through her tears. Grace you remember swapping stories over drinks with Detective Jarillmo (your contact.) one night, She mentioned a case involving some bad BTL chips she worked on once where she had to use an DocWagon med tech with a PhD to help unravel the users brains. Thomas Chance: Spoiler:
a spoiler just for you so you don't feel left out Background information for all: Evo is a Japanese company based out of Vladivostok Russia, they specialize in bio-engineering. Formally known as Yamatetsu Corp. they changed their name after the outbreak of VIATS IV and the crash of ‘64. Rumors in the shadows say that the outbreak started in the Yamatetsu facilities in Denver and they waited on providing the anti-viral cure until near world wide panic started so they could maximize their profits and become a triple a megacorp and take a seat on the corporate council. A third of all bioware and nanotech comes from Evo’s labs in Russia.

Introducing Con-Current 2021 We welcome gamers of all types to join us (virtually, of course) for three days of “Bee”ing yourself while we play Pathfinder and Starfinder together. We may not be able to gather in person this summer, that only means there will be no lines for food, the bathroom is always clean and well-stocked, and the “hotel” room is close by. We still have plenty of gaming and socializing opportunities. There will be no cost to attend but we encourage you to donate to our sponsor charities for 2021, Jasper's Game Day and Planned Parenthood. We have three fun-filled days planned for you of games, author tables, charity events, and daily/nightly activities. Several events will request donations to participate — we appreciate your support of our partner charities. Considering putting in a order for these with my FLGS. Do we know if the set will be similar to the Pathfinder battles? Eg: 3 minis per booster, 8 boosters per brick, 4 bricks per case giving a total of 96 minis per case, with a very high probability of getting at least one of each of the 32 different figure?
I went to purchase the new PF2 Gamemastery Guide PDF yesterday and noticed that at some point I lost the ability to put items in my shopping cart. Please help, I want to give you $$$. :) Behavior: When I tap the “Add to Cart” or “ Add PDF” button/text for an item, it returns a message of “Your request produced an error” in the location where the link/button was. This happens with any product I have attempted to put in my cart.
I don’t see a list anywhere for which Skill is required to Recall Knowledge for specific creatures. If the PCs encounter a Ghoul, is that Religion or Occultism? What constitutes a “creature of Occult significance” anyway? What about Dragons? Humanoids? Otyughs? The creature types used to be listed with the Knowledge skill description, but I can’t find any sort of similar list for the Playtest. What am I missing?
In the spirit of trying to run as written for PFS, I have a plot question on this one. What are the consequences if the PCs don't spend the time running around the island to disable the Orrey? Given the likely party composition, none of them may feel motivated to free the villagers because it's "the right thing to do," so I was to be prepared with the potential consequences. As far as I can tell the only consequence is that the villagers stay under mind control. No change to gp or pp earned. What happens at the end fight then? I feel like the Big Bad would force not only PCs who fail the save but also any available villager to finish digging through the last wall as quickly as possible, then send villagers and skum in waves to fight the PCs similar to what would happen for interfering at the exterior excavation site. This could get lethal pretty fast with the Big Bad, a level 8 sorcerer and waves of murderous villagers and skum. Advice appreciated...
Could someone have a look at what is holding up order # 3996185? It's been a bit over a month now that it has been "pending." Is the order being held up by the currently out of stock Grand Lodge Pin? If that is the issue, is it possible to push the pin into a separate order so that the modules and other things can be shipped now? I am scheduled to run one of the modules next month and am getting worried that they won't be here in time. Thanks
I've been GMing for a while, but have only ever done PFS which has some specific and very open rules around purchasing/upgrading equipment. I'm planning to run a module in the near future as a home game / "campaign mode" game. However, I am unsure what modules assume about PC equipment access. I'm looking for some common guidelines on how purchases are usually handled, with the goals of 1) Being realistic on what might be available in a rural area, 2) Not ending up with PCs who posess significantly more equipment than the module assumes, and 3) Not unnecessarily hampering players characters. It seems clear that pretty much any mundane gear is available. According to the stat block for the town, there is an x% chance of any requested wondrous item being available for purchase in a given week. How does this work out in practice for the "must-have" items like belts and headbands? Do PCs just not have the opportunity to purchase them? How do you typically handle requests for specific items? My thought was to roll the availability to see if it happens to be onhand somewhere, or else to have one of the shopkeepers offer make it to order (available in X days), assuming the item is of a level the shopkeeper could craft. Under this scheme, many high level items will not be available at all because of the required caster levels. Dragon's Demand spoiler:
Spoiler:
Normally, I might expect that PCs would just travel to the nearest city to get the item they want, but that would be contrary to the plot. All the action takes place in and around the Small Town of Belhaim and there is really only one opportunity to leave the town to purchase equipment elsewhere. And that opportunity doesn't happen until about 2/3 of the way through the module. Current casters in the town are an Alchemist(5), a Cleric(4), and IIRC, a Druid(3).
Also a related question: I assume that all XP and gold rewards listed in the module are the party total, not the awards for each PC, right? |
