I hadn't played a RPG for almost 20 years but recently started playing Pathfinder with my kids (ages 10 & 12) and they are having a blast. I've been looking for some adult gamers to run a game with but haven't been able to find anyone.
The landscape is quite different then when I played before. Back in the day you could go into a game store and look on the wall and find open games or post a game you want to run and players would come out of the woodwork. These days the groups that I run into at the local gaming store all play right there in the store and tend to be a group of people who already know each other (closed groups).
Posting on various Internet directories has produced no results.
I've played in one PFS game but have a lot more interest in running a homebrew game. PFS is a but too limited for my taste. Also, I'd rather not play in a game store. I find such environments to be too noisy.
AnyHOO...Have any of you come back to the hobby after being away for a long time and having lost all contacts with others who play? How did you get your groups together.
BTW...I'm in Atlanta.
