About Mortifice

Background:
As a young child, Mortifice witnessed his orc father brutally slay his mother, a human slave. Enraged, Mortifice -- though a boy of merely 5 years at the time -- took revenge by slaying his father while he slept. He fled the orc encampment under cover of night and never looked back.

Tired and alone, Mortifice ultimately wound up on the doorstep of the Church of Pelor. He heard rumblings that Pelor's churches had orphanages for people his age, and sure enough they took him in without a second thought.

Mortifice grew up in the church and took kindly to its benevolent teachings. Then one day when he was a teenager, he saw a vision from Pelor's right-hand woman, Mayaheine, that convinced him to join her ranks amongst the protectors of the weak and innocent.

Mortifice has vowed to serve Mayaheine and become a champion of good and justice. To himself, he has vowed to stop the terrible orcs from ever harming another human life. To others, he has vowed to help put an end to the growing threat of giants in the valley.

Appearance:
Mortifice stands 6'2" and weighs about 260 pounds. Though orcish in appearance, he has removed his own tusks as a sign of his hatred for that part of his heritage.

Mortifice is clean-cut and his armor always polished, and he willingly and openly bears the holy symbols of both his patron deity, Mayaheine, and her own patron Pelor.
