Oh, and, dude, if you are looking for some folks to tag along with, them dwarves over there have been to the Palace a couple of times in the past couple of days. Benny told me so himself.

A Kobold, Mortie, the Hall Monitor, and Door Guardian, sees Grinley looking about nervously and as he approaches a young Kobold female who is cleaning away soup bowls, Mortie approaches and greats the dwarf.

Hey, Ground Pounder, glad to see you found your way back to the hall, man, I told you, wandering around the outskirts of the hollow is dull and dangerous, but hey, sure, no worries, man. Sit over here in the corner and I'll make sure you get some soup and whatever you like to drink.

Nah, heard about them, but they didn't pass here the last time. See, they come from the west, patching up the towers as they go, and then when they reach this part of the range, usually, they come in for a drink or two, and a night's stay in Copper Hole, then they set back out for home by way of the southern route, sort of a big circle they make, but you know, they didn't come by this way. Last time they were due through here was over a month ago.

Mortie shifts the locks a few times, saying

Top, middle bottom, no, wait, middle, bottom, then, wait, ouch, ow, wait. Bottom, yeah, middle top. Got it!

When the door is opened the party enters the basement of the ruin. There are no other here now, but Mortie says, Let me get the door closed and I’ll get Lorelei.

The door guard closes and locks the small, heavy door then runs off to fetch the guild master.

We've got little ale left here, and the brewers have been making small beer for the past two weeks. I keep telling 'em to make more ale, but they've ruined all but two of the casks and now they're worried about ruining the last two. Mortie says over his shoulder to the dwarf, as he goes about shutting and locking the door.

Oh, right, dudes, hold on, um, let me *umph* just got to undo these, *hrmph*, uh, wait, no left and then right twice. Um, *urg* uh, no, wait. Okay, this one first, *ouch*, no, wait. Okay! got it!
