Appearance: A tall, lithe humanoid, Mohk moves with a grace and assurance someone who can’t see probably shouldn’t have. Although his eyes are actually peffectly normal - whatever the problem with them is, the eyes are intact - Mohk prefers to cover them more to get people to make assumptions about him, and usually wears a simple white linen blindfold.
As a Tiefling, Mohk has a deep crimson skin tone with black nails on his fingers and toes. His horns are dark, sweeping back over his black hair and tinted red when the light hits them right. His legs are human, and he typically keeps his feet bare when possible, as it’s one more source of information on the environment. His skin is thick and unusual strong, meaning that he’s in no danger from doing so. Mohk prefers to keep his hair longer and tied back, although occasionally he gets fed up of such hair maintenance and cuts it shorter. Mohk prefers to wear well tailored outfits and light armour, and is often seen carrying a black liquid glass scimitar. He uses Prestidigitation to keep himself looking neat and clean, but will gladly bathe the more traditional way when he gets the chance. Personality: Cheerful and charming, Mohk is friendly with most people he meets and generally well thought of. He is unfailingly polite unless someone has really upset him, in which case he often slips into infernal - the curse words are quite creative, if nothing else. Still, it’s rare for someone or something to make him that upset.
One of the few ways to annoy Mohk, other than cruelty and abuse to others, is to try and baby him. While he is in no way too proud to ask for help, and will happily do so, he doesn’t like feeling like people think he needs constant aid and attention. He gets that it’s many people’s natural inclination to help the blind guy, and will explain that he doesn’t generally need it, but eventually gets frustrated if ignored too often. Backstory: Born to a well off merchant family, Mohk did not experience the typical Tiefling life of familial abandonment. His family, while moderately confused by his clearly otherworld origin, was liberal enough to accept that it was clearly a quirk of ancestry, a throwback to the blood of yesteryear. If there was ever any doubt about who sired him his father never let it affect him, and the only reason Mohk was treated different from his family was never his skin or horns, but his total blindness. Still, without his family it’s unlikely a blind Tiefling would have been generally accepted.
Despite his lack of sight, Mohk never seemed to have any real issue getting around. While blind he was born able to sense the life essence of others, giving him a rough idea of where people were, and as he grew older he learned to refine his location. A cantrip so he always knew which way north was, the ability to sense magic to further enhance his ability to sense things, and exceptional hearing quickly made it so it was debatable how big an issue being unable to see really was. It was enough that along with a certain level of magic he was able to learn a surprising amount of skill with a scimitar. Still, he felt…constrained by his family. While they knew he was able to handle himself, they also knew he was blind, and tended to coddle and baby him. When he proposed that he become an adventurer they were…less than excited about the idea. A compromise was therefore reached. Mohk could be an adventurer…if he could pass the University at Chiaggio’s courses, proving he was capable. Bar the scimitar he’d been gifted he’d have limited help from his family, as it was meant to prove he could be independent. Mohk relished the challenge.
