Mithralline dies, for a second time, almost as ignominiously as the first, her tiny body crumpled on the ground.

She glances back, wondering where her minions are and if they've been eviscerated. They'd better hope they have considering how little they're helping her!

She grins knowing the fool Pharasmin will likely be raised as the undead she hated in life. A fitting fate for someone who would dare to attack her! If she didn't already have to deal with Aggravation, she might consider claiming the woman as a minion, but one such thrall to keep track of is more than she really has energy for.

She brings her attention back to the cleric. "You are most welcome, of course. If you do not have the ash, we shall do without. Has this Nathnelma made any other requests of you?"

Mithralline's torn for a rare moment, caught between pleasure that this Blood Lord realized that she is clearly the group's leader and deserves to be given things, and fury that he thinks she appreciates whimsy like some sort of common fey, or -- worse -- might be patronizing her!

As they depart, she hands the rod to Telvir. "Here, you may hold this for me." I think this probably makes sense for Telvir or Caraid, so feel free to swap it around if you want.

"Yes, let us go to the temple and see what we can learn," Mithralline agrees.

Mithralline scowls as he sees Zthni hand something to her servant. Trying to steal Apatheta? If you think I will allow anyone to take anything of mine, you will learn, Blood Lord or no!

Still, the sun is about to rise, and finding a nice coffin to rest in is a better way to spend the day. "Armadillo! It's time to rest!"

hp 97; AC 26 or 27; Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +12 LE sprite vampire tyrant 7

Mithralline's intrigued by the blood, since it's delicious, but turns up her nose at the various drugs. She's no longer a simpering, sybaritic fey, gallivanting around looking like a fool. She mocks Ceceka and Addicty as they engage in the debauchery (or pretend to), but holds herself above it, uncaring how she might look to others. Zthni may not care, but she knows that a blood lord must act above her lessers.

Mithralline nods at the blood lords. "You say you've heard reports of us?" she asks, politely. There's no reason to antagonize these two as long as they continue being respectful. While she's more involved with the Builders League, it can't hurt to have more factions behind her.

hp 97; AC 26 or 27; Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +12 LE sprite vampire tyrant 7

Mithralline looks around, surprised slightly at Berline's -- coincidental? -- appearance in the city. Still, she doesn't let it show as she approaches the halfling. Never let your potential enemies see a hint of weakness, after all.

"Yes, you may introduce us," she agrees, glancing at Annoying to make sure she doesn't make a social faux pas by demanding to be the one to introduce her. Yes, it's her job, but in this case, Mithralline expects she'll realize it's more important to let the Blood Lord handle the task.

Perhaps when I take my rightful place, if she does a good job here, I will give her that task and let Altiloquious handle something else where I don't have to hear her voice.

Sorry, I meant Ceceka for the poisons (and the invisibility potion).

Confession: I think I get confused between the two of you because of your avatars (Telvir looks more like a fighter to me!). :)

But we can just assume that's Mithralline not bothering to tell one of you from the other.

OK, turns out I had some time today, so here's the loot list since the last time we compiled, starting in Pagked and ending in Sallowshore (so up to this post).

Also including my thoughts of what to do with them:
bag of holding type II Give to Telvir/Caraid to hold; whoever didn't take the type I bag of holding, above
two vials of giant scorpion venom Telvir?
greater leaper’s elixir Aily?
invisibility potion Telvir? Who has the worst Stealth
salve of antiparalysis party loot
shark tooth charm Aily? Need to be an expert in Acrobatics. It's a pretty nice talisman though
traveler’s any-tool party loot? Or just sell?
stony hag eye Caraid already claimed
lesser winter wolf elixir party loot? Unless someone wants to claim it
lesser elixir of life party loot? Unless someone wants to claim it
moderate antidote party loot, just need to determine who's holding it
necklace of fireballs type I Mithralline? Probably should use it pretty soon, since that save DC is pretty low. No strong feelings. We could also sell it

To sell/coins
250 gp
ring of wizardry type I that resembles a skeletal snake eating its tail none of us can use, so sell for 180 gp
230 gp in assorted jewelry
150 gp
various gems worth 80 gp.
extraction cauldron (worth 85 gp, so we don't have to lug it around)
60 gp of alchemical materials
1,035 gold, so that's 207 gp each

Mithralline bathes in the adoration of the townsfolk, quite pleased that they acknowledge her supremacy. Once she's finished her business in town, she prepares to move on to Yled. She has business there, to finish dealing with this Graveclaw threat!

Quick stats:

HP 27/84
AC 23 (25 with shield raised)
Fort +12, Ref +10, Will +11; poison resistance 3
Hero points: 2
Focus Points: 1/1
Effects:

Mithralline shrieks as the giant hits her -- and then worse ignores her! "No one makes me bleed my own blood! Nobody!" she screeches. If he weren't quite so big, she would give him a little of his own medicine. Since that's not an option, she decides she'll make him bleed with her scythe sadly, I assume he's Large, so can't grapple him.

Strike x2, Raise Shield
+1 striking Lion scythe (agile, finesse, trip, divine ally: fearsome): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
Damage (slashing): 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3) + 4 = 8

+1 striking Lion scythe (agile, iterative): 1d20 + 15 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 15 - 4 = 27
Damage (slashing): 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 6) + 4 = 15

Persistent bleed: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) = 14 oof!
Flat check: 1d20 ⇒ 16 well, that helps

And if I'm harmed: Iron Command (reaction):

Trigger: An enemy within 15 feet damages you.You put an impertinent foe who dared harm you in their proper place. You command your enemy to kneel before you in obedience. If they dare to refuse, they must pay the price in pain and anguish. The foe must choose one of the following options.
* The enemy kneels, dropping prone as a free action.
* The enemy refuses, and you deal 2d6 persistent mental damage to it. This damage increases to 3d6 at 9th level, 4d6 at 12th level, 5d6 at 16th level, and 6d6 at 19th level.
In addition, your Strikes against the triggering creature deal 1 extra damage until the end of your next turn. You choose whether the damage type is evil or negative each time you use this reaction. This extra damage increases to 2 at 9th level and 3 at 16th level.

Mithralline considers draining the giant's blood, but is pretty sure it's far too salty, and could destroy her kidneys. She settles for slashing him more with her scythe.

I really want to bite him, but I suspect he's got a very good Fort, so not likely to succeed. So Strike x2, Raise Shield

+1 striking Lion scythe (agile, finesse, trip, divine ally: fearsome): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Damage (slashing): 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 6) + 4 = 11

hp 97; AC 26 or 27; Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +12 LE sprite vampire tyrant 7

Mithralline smiles at the two obsequious golems. Finally something besides Abli that recognizes how she should be treated.

"The Bride-of-the-Sea dared? She's already been punished for such impertinence with death -- and not unlife! -- but this will not stand."

She turns to lead her companions back out to where the giant waited for them. "If it gives us any trouble, we will kill it, then destroy the shrine," she orders.

hp 97; AC 26 or 27; Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +12 LE sprite vampire tyrant 7

Yeah, I think that makes sense.

Mithralline smiles toothily, showing her fangs as Sahni falls. "Serves you right, sea cow," she gloats, not noticing Cariad taking the ring.

"You did well. Now let us see if there's anything here of use, since this ... thing ... certainly was not. We still need to find out why they were trying to murder my people."

Our original mission, just as a reminder.

It's not nice to call Annoyance an Annoyance when you're also sleeping with her! (Unless you're married.) Also, how is that you used that as a name for Avocado before me? (Unless I have and I've forgotten.)

"Fine. Go try to talk to it. Don't come crying to me, though, if it attacks you," Mithralline gracefully assents to her servant's request.

Does she want to sleep with that one too?

hp 97; AC 26 or 27; Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +12 LE sprite vampire tyrant 7

Religion (trained): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Finally, something that has enough sense to stay out of my way!

Mithralline gives the giant a hard stare, to make sure it knows it should continue to do nothing, then raises her shield and leads the way forward.

hp 97; AC 26 or 27; Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +12 LE sprite vampire tyrant 7

Earlier
Impudents! Kill them all! Mithralline thinks for a moment as the mob confronts them. But as Caraid talks, and they deliver their tribute, she thinks again. These people simply need a gentler -- if still iron -- hand. She will take them under her wings after they've defeated Sahni. Clearly they have been properly cowed already, and they understand how they should treat with their betters, with offers of gold and potions.

She nods to Caraid. He's done well. She'll have to remember to permit him some time with Amorous later.

Now
The fairy vampire tyrant genuflects for a moment at the temple of her goddess, before heading in, gesturing for Ambushina to go first and look for any traps that might await them.

hp 97; AC 26 or 27; Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +12 LE sprite vampire tyrant 7

I'm fine with that. Let's rest and head down after Sahni tomorrow?

Mithralline ponders the offer. "We shall think on it," she replies, keeping her plans for now to herself.

hp 97; AC 26 or 27; Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +12 LE sprite vampire tyrant 7

"Yes, I'm fine," Mithralline replies, in exasperation. As if she could be anything else. The stupid eel barely hurt her.
