Full Character Sheet

Description:

Mirela (Miri) is a young Varisian of considerable physical beauty. She has a lighter skin tone complexion than most Varisians, a result of her mixed Chelish and Varisian heritage. Miri has deep blue eyes, and long strait raven colored hair that reaches her mid back in length. She often ties back in a pony tail for practical reasons, particularly when performing acrobatics. She is in excellent physical condition, her body lean and athletic given her daily acrobatic exercise. She also moves gracefully and lightly on her feet, a product of her training in dance.

Mirela can almost always found smiling and in good spirits, though there is a great deal of mischief behind her grin. When drawn to anger though, her eyes burn with great intensity and her fair complexion quickly turns red.

Her traveling clothes are fairly common and nondescript, though she accentuates her appearance by wearing an elaborate but tasteful Varisian scarf. Mirela also packs more fashionable outfits which she likes to wear when dancing, socializing, or trying to impress those of higher social standing than herself.

Personality:
Mirela is extremely extroverted, personable and charming, and speaks freely and easily with all manner of folks. She loves to entertain, and seems to draw great energy from the praise and cheer of the crowds.

Like many Varisians, Mirela is passionate and more than a little hot blooded. She loses her temper easily, a trait that gets her into trouble often. When Mirela feels though she has been slighted, she can harbor grudges and will look for opportunities for revenge if apologies or restitution is not forthcoming.

While outwardly Mirela appears very confident in herself, inwardly she suffers from a great deal of self doubt and insecurity. Whether dancing or attempting acrobatic feets, performing for crowds seems to bolster her confidence.

Traits
Mirela is quite witty and intelligent, and seems very comfortable in public. Her friends would say she possesses a kind heart, and is always very helpful and non-judgmental.

Lastly, Miri is quite energetic, athletic and fashionable.

Flaws
Mirela's flaws include vanity, a bad temper, insecurity, a short attention span, and a vengeful streak when she perceives to have been wronged by others.

Background:
Mirela Malvo was born to a wandering Varisian performer named Anica Malvo, a woman of considerable beauty and renown talent as a singer and dancer. Like so many Varisians, Anica traveled the world with a small caravan of her kinsmen, entertaining locals to make a living, or hustling and stealing from folks when their performances alone didn't allow them to make ends meet. Eventually Anica's caravan landed in Korvosa, where it made a considerable amount of money as the Korvosians seemed to enjoy performance art, even though they looked down on Varisians.

Eventually word spread to the local nobility, and Anica's caravan was contracted to provide song and dance to a local function in the Chelish loyalist court. There, Anica caught the eye of Lord Petronicus Arasti, a wealthy chelish merchant lord of some influence throughout Varisia. The chelish Lord amazed the young Anica with his wealth and power, eventually seducing her and counting her among his mistresses. In short order, Anica became pregnant and gave birth to Petronicus' child, a girl she named Mirela. Having no desire to have anything to do with a bastard Varisian daughter, Lord Petronicus reluctantly distanced himself from Anica Malvo, and eventually expelled her and her caravan from Korvosa at the behest of his brothers to avoid any potential embarrassment for the family.

Anica was welcomed back into the caravan, though some of her kinsmen blamed her for their expulsion from Korvosa. Anica raised Mirela with the help of her kinsmen, who taught her to dance. Unlike her mother though, Mirela had showed little desire to sing, and took instead to acrobatics. She quickly showed promise as a tumbler, so the troop incorporated her into their acrobatic acts at a young age. As the years rolled on, Mirela grew into a great beauty with considerable talent, surpassing even her mother in what little fame Anica had. Sadly, Anica grew ill and eventually passed when Mirela was only fourteen, but not before telling Mirela the story of her true parentage.

After Anica's death and sure that they had been forgotten, the caravan decided to try returning to Korvosa. Knowing the tale of her true father, Mirela saw the return to Korvosa as an opportunity to meet her father and his family at last. Her fellow performers wanted nothing to do with the Chelish Royal Court, having been burned before by contemptuous noblemen, so Mirela was forced to devise a plan of her own. After a time in Korvosa, Mirela managed to steal and scrounge enough gold together to buy herself some fancy Courtier's clothing and jewlery, and managed to charm and bluff her way into high society under the fake alias of Maid Imperia Anticus.

In time, Mirela managed to finally gain access to the social circles of her biological father Lord Petronicus Arasti, a man now in his early fifties and ailing from various diseases. What Mirela's plan was at this point, even she can't say, as she never thought she would get this far into Chelish Royal Court on the pretext of a lie. When she approached her father, her desire was for some recognition or acknowledgement. Instead, the Arasti family saw only the potential for embarrassment, or worse yet, a claimant; Petronicus had no legitimate heirs. The younger brothers and nephews of Lord Arasti moved quickly against the young Mirela once her true identity became known to them, much to her shock and dismay. Realizing that her life and liberty might be in danger, Mirela decided it best to flee Korvosa without a word.

Her travels took her far and wide, and eventually landed her at Sandpoint after a great deal of time on the road as a traveling performer. Having heard of the Swallowtail Festival, Mirela has arrived with the intent of performing at the various busker pavilions setup for the festivities in town.
