same as you make a character for another. the medium makes a large difference in playstyle and experience (player, not character). every game is gonna be different (unless pfs is online capable, which i dont know)

simple answer, jump in to one you find interesting and dont be afraid to ask questions of the recruiting DM.

Where I'm inclined to agree, there's things that I cannot simply jump into. One of the threads for example says Gold: "Average starting gold +15GP"

I don't know what the "average starting gold" for a level 1 would be. I could assume, 150GP simply because that's what hero lab gives characters that are immediately made, but then when I look on the thread for other people's characters I see +3 Greataxes, with Ring of protection +5s, and more obvious gear that exceeds that amount.

That's simply just one example of possible knowledge that I may not understand, and I feel its probably basic.

I've played a good amount of Pathfinder, but never in an online enviornment. I'm quite interested because I have no readily available area to obtain my D&D fix that's near by.

I've browsed the forums and sub forums a bit and to be honest I'm a bit intimidated, from both the volume of people interested in each campaign and because I've always had an onslaught of different house rules that affected gold, exp, items, etc. So I wouldn't want to become a burden to a DM.

My activity wouldn't be in question, but I just am not sure what I should do or how to go about making a structured character for these enviornments.

I'm interested in the campaign as I've never done one over the net before but it seems like there's already several people who not only have posted, but many who are much more experienced.
