Map shows 13 squares away, so running got you there.
Miles, already shaken and wounded is completely thrown off guard as Kristophe charges in at him and clubs him in the side sending him staggering back a couple feet from the mighty blow, but yet the mutant still stands.
New initiative I KID YOU NOT:
Kristophe - Joker
Everyone else - Better than a two
Miles - Two of frickin clubs, worst initiative possible
The mutant seems utterly overpowered by the attack, and his reactions are slowed by the wounds and the suprise.
"Most worthy of the lot. At least I fall...to a real warrior. Ave. True to your purpose, warrior."

Miles, totally out of bennies, takes the blast clear in the chest, burning a hole through his armor and leaving a horrible baseball sized burn in his pectoral. He shakes his head, and then looks at Aeryicka with suprise, finally understanding just how powerful of a kick these things hit with and the fact the small girl took one that seemed even more deadly.
New initiative - Badger has a Joker, and the rest of you beat the protectrons

I'll kill some time by doing Miles's action.
Miles rears back for another wild haymaker at the robot (P4).
Used the wrong dice last round. Oh well. Too late now.
Wild Attack: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Wild Die: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Damage: 1d12 + 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (10) + (4) + 2 = 16
The punch shatters through the chest of the metal automaton, and he swiftly kicks it to to remove his fist from inside the machine.
He looks back at the girl who took a laser beam square in the chest, smelling the burnt flesh, and seeing her continue to fight on, nods silently in acknowledgement.
3 robots, P1, P3, and P8, remain

"I...am new to this far east and south. This particular area is unknown to me. It is a long trip by foot to Tampa. Food would be needed if they walk. Still hours if they drive - not needed, but useful. Where they are depends on how much you scared them."
Badger notes again the tracks seem to split up, with some heading to the truck servicing, some to the food and supplies.

Miles can he seen eating one of the radroaches that had dared intruded upon his sleep, apparently raw, as he leaves his room. He stops short as the young girl approaches him and leaves the peace offering at his feet.
What does it say that all their women go out of their way to placate me? Does it speak to their wisdom? Their perception of their men's weakness? Both? He muses to himself, but not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Miles dons the protective gear. He makes sure his chain fist is tight and moves down to meet the others.
Upon Badger's declaration that their prey has split, he nods. "The ones going through Dome will be harder to track, but slower to reach their destination. Your choice...is wise."

A bemused smile appears on the the mutant's face. It looks out of place, unlike the smile of sadism he presented the slaver. Seeing none else around the area, he looks her over.
"Prove yourself in battle tomorrow. Show me your will matches your spirit. If I was right about you, then I will explain. If I was wrong, no wasted words."
He then shuts the door in her face. She can hear furniture moving behind there.

This whole mess probably started around 4pm or so, so, yeah, it's probably near sundown.
"I told you I would. Do not question my word." He starts to move towards the staircase. "I will find a room." He pauses, and looks at Aeryicka, stares at her for a minute. "Your spirit is stronger than your body presents. I would petition your dip."
He walks away solemnly, not saying a word of what he just said means, heading to the principal's quarters upstairs, shutting the door behind him, provided none stop him.

I was wondering if anyone would do something like that. The easy path is not always the good one.
Soak: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Miles takes the beanbag to the chest and shakes his head at Badger.
"Now, we are even. I keep my word. Including this."
He presses the button on the remote and the slaver'e neck explodes in a burst of gore.

The mutant stares at the remote, and the Kristophe, and then Thomas.
"There is dissent in your group, Esquire. You have no unity. No shape or purpose. You do. You, Esquire, but your people...they are like fractured tribes without a banner. I could press this button. No promises you make would mean anything to him. Your warrior defies you. A group decision has been handed to me alone. Your people lack discipline. You are weak. To lead takes strength. Your warrior lead a charge against numbers greater, and I saw a child rain fire on men." He doesnt know you incinerated two because he didn't see that from outside
His left hand clinches the remote, massive thumb over the kill switch, his right, the chain. "I think I will take the former holder of my chain and leave. I think you will not stop me, because in either case he dies, but I you watch me go, you live. Oh, the lot of you may kill me if you try to stop me, but if I take the life from one or two along the way, is it worth a man who will still die, albeit faster, if you try and stop me?"
"I meant what I said. If you will destroy his people, I would help. This doesn't change that, but until then..." He starts to walk towards the slaver.

Miles nods at the offer of a sledgehammer. "It will be adequate for now, though I am better with my hands."
Miles narrows his eyes at Thomas and crosses his arms over his broad chest. "I will not remain if you count him as one of your own in any way. I offer no forgiveness for what was done to me. I am no Christ. I am the cross."
As if for added emphasis he clenches the chain wrapped around his fist until it clinks from the pressure and stares at the slaver.

Estelle Beaumont wrote: As the group goes back inside and begins to loot through things, Estelle pulls one of the medkits out of her backpack. "Anyone hurt?" She looks around at each person to see how they're faring. Ensuring that everyone is still healthy, she looks pleased for a second, and then gets to Miles.
The degree to which she has become relaxed around the group dissipates in an instant, and her heart beats out of her chest to be near the large creature. "And you, sir? Any pains" She eyes the area where his shackles were with a sigh. "You've hurt yourself. Come now, let me see it."
Miles stops and stares at Estelle quietly. He seems to be studying her. "Interesting..." he mutters to himself, under his breath. He doesn't stop her from patching him up, but is brief about it, immediately, backing up when she is complete. He gives no thanks, but looks over the bandaging, and nods slightly.

Aeryicka Hill wrote: "You're a predator, aren't you?" she asked, her voice low. "Judging by how many people were left to guard you when the fighting started, you are hard to take down." Miles quietly looks at the young woman-child, sizing her up. He tilts his head at her question. As always, there is a long pause before the reply as if he is processing, and carefully considering his response.
"Yes...and no. I am a..." he pauses and thinks about his resonse. "I am a soldier. I fight for a hunger beyond food. I..." he stops again, shakes his head. "...Have said enough."
He grits his teeth and grows silent again.

Miles looks over at Badger and nods. "You. Badger. I will repay my freedom once for you." He doesn't seem to give any explanation to this statement, but afterwards turns and heads into the building.
The mutant is bare-chested and wearing rags of pants and no shoes... He looks around at the dead bodies and just starts pulling items of clothing off the bodies that isn't armor and starts covering his body with it, looking for shoes that appropriately fit among the bodies. He seems to paying little to no heed to the rest at this point, seemingly all business.
