I'll add scrolls of burning hands, scorching ray, color spray crafter's fortune and two mage armor. When/If we make Continual Flame torches, I'll probably do them from scroll for the extra area.

Otherwise I think I am ready.

Using the proper feat those are all half price as well, since etherium doesn't require the component spell.

If you want to get creative designing the item that would be welcome as well. Given etherium's nature to change material shape and the ability to craft items or parts of different slots. Otherwise I would be happy to describe the final item for the sake of flavor.

As to what the scrolls affected by etherium do I will have to puzzle that out myself. I didn't come up with what every spell does when it has etherium applied the the magical item. There are... a lot of them.

Wait... oh, I am misunderstanding how you used the etherium. I thought you were making scrolls and adding etherium for a sperate effect. Not adding them to your spellbook using etherium!

Those are two very different things. If you want to use etherium to make ink to scribe spells with that is doable. It doesn't give you a permanently altered spell. That comes from making a scroll or potion and then adding etherium to the consumable.

Sorry for the delay. You had it right the first time I was using etherium to make scrolls of those spells to see what it did. I have the very minimum of spells for a character oh his intelligence and level. 3+Int mod at first and two at each level. Those are all "free" spells. I has hoping to see the effect of those spells to see if I wanted to craft more scrolls to have on hand. Other than that I think I am good to go. I didn't expect you to have results for all spells planned out, but figured you would come up with them as I tried them out. If you don't want to do all those at once I understand maybe just: *Ray of Frost, *Burning Hands, *Color Spray, *Crafter's Fortune, *Mage Armor, *Magic Missile, *Continual Flame, and *Scorching Ray.

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Milton is ready other than scrolls. I'd like to know what those ones written with etherium do before finalizing them.

Grumbaki: what do you want made? With craft wondrous item I can make a number of things. Amulet, cloak, clothes...

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

I have finished my wizard Milton Mcurray He is heavy into crafting and making magic items. He would have used a bit of the etherium making scrolls and using them to see the effects. He would have used scrolls of: *Detect Magic, *Light, *Mending, *Ray of Frost, *Read Magic, *Burning Hands, *Color Spray, *Crafter's Fortune, *Expeditious Excavation, *Floating Disk, *Mage Armor, *Magic Missile, *Summon Monster 1, *Unseen Servant, *Continual Flame, *Make Whole, *Mirror Image, and *Scorching Ray.

The utility spells would have been done in the peaceful times the combat ones when the ants showed up. He has an identify scroll made that way but hasn't used it as there is no magic items to identify. I will decide what other scrolls he may have on him once I know the effects of the etherium.

Sounds good

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

There is still a chance Lathliss could kill them all, not much of one but a chance.

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

I could do Miles again just from a different shard though a wizard could work as well. Sounds like healing would be useful as well.

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles lays on the ground oozing out blood from his burned shoulder.

Con DC 10: 1d20 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (1) + 1 - 3 = -1

No need to apologize. PCs should die occasionally. Fear of dying should be a part of any RPG.

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

I've known for a bit a TPK was likely. If Lathliss dropped before me I was going to run. We probably should have backed out when we set off the alarm. Four against that group probably wasn't enough, we needed I'd say at least 3 round of ranged before any melee broke out. There are still "humans" back at the little village and we may have done enough damage to the goblins for them to win.

I would be interested in playing in Shards again as well. If you don't want to try a second table again I'd be happy to join the first. I have read some of their gameplay already.

Miles considers and says "I think we should make them come to us. We stand on top of the hill and used ranged fire and make them come to us. Ulthak can be a little ahead when they approach. I can make things more difficult by casting grease as well. The more we take down before they get to us the better. We would need to take out their range if they have any as well."

Mile looks to the rest of the group and says "Does anyone know what it looks like at the spring? I think the best approach would be up one of the hills, preferably with the creek and spring between us and their camp. If no one knows for sure, I say we go up the hill on the opposite side of the creek. I doubt they cross the creek to get to their camp, but who knows. Any path we take from here out will need to be carefully checked for traps."

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles shrugs and just says "Let's go."

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles says "It's not the risk of you carrying it. It's the risk of us all dying and the goblins picking it up off your dead body. I don't want to risk them winning and having Ruby. How long did it take to get here and how much further to go? If we go all the way back we lose that time."

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles tilts his head to the side for a moment thinking. He then says "While I don't think we should leave you here Ruby, I don't think we should take you with us either. We should leave and hide Ruby somewhere in case something happens to us."

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles looks unsure for a moment and then asks "Does someone need to have dominance in the other shard? Will we have to regain dominance after the merger to merge again?"

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles shakes his head and says "Ok, so let's try this. You said you could join this shard with another. How do you do that? I understand someone must hold dominance in the shard but other than that. What do we or you do?"

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles looks thoughtful for a moment and then says "So the world we knew was shattered like a mirror and we are in one of the pieces. They can be put back together? Is there another gem like you in each piece? What happens to the gems? Do we need to find a shard that was next to us, like down the road? Is it a giant puzzle? Do all the pieces exist? Do we have to gain dominance over the next shard? Do... I'll stop there. I have so many questions."

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles makes sure he is between Timothy and the entrance. He then says "And what do you mean by joining the shards together? What is a shard?"

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles smiles his biggest pleased to meet you smile and whispers "Why don't we take this outside and let her sleep." He then carefully tries to pick up the gem and walk outside.

I hope your week is better than your weekend then.

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles looks at the gem suspiciously and then casts Detect magic. He says "What kind of trickery is this? These seems beyond the realm of goblins typical pranks."

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

As Miles hears about the strange bodies of the dead goblins he says "Maybe we did and the males are turning into females." He then shrugs.

Miles travels along with the others on the alert. As Ulthak points out other trails he asks "Do you think any of these other trails are goblins we haven't encountered yet?"

Then at the big gathering he asks "Which way to the big tracks head? I don't want them behind us attacking the inn while we are out here trying to root them out."

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles sighs and shakes his head, "I think we may have to try and take care of these goblins once and for all if possible. Track them back to their camp and get rid of them if they can't live in peace."

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Miles looks around to make sure there are no more hiding and then says "Is that all of them? None went upstairs?" After being assured it was done inside he says "We need to get that fire out and heal up!"

Male Human Bard 1| AC 16 T 12 FF 14 | HP -4/9 | F +2 R +4 W +2| Init +2| Perc +4

Seeing only two goblins left Miles moves into the room and stops his rousing tale. He takes aim at the goblin near Milana and fires at it. The arrow runs true and straight into it's heart. He looks at the last goblin with a grin on his face as says in goblin "You are next!"

When Lathliss hurries in and makes his pronouncement he says "You have my aid. We should probably try to approach the goblins from the side or better yet behind if we can so they have less of a chance of getting away." He then looks to Tel Beys and Milana to see what they have to say.
