Background

I noticed you staring at me. Don’t try to be coy with me—I know when someone’s gawking. You’re at least polite enough to not say anything about it, I’ll give you that. You know who I am?

How the hell have you not heard of me? Huh? Come on, have you turned on the radio lately? Been checking Twitter? You know what the Chain-Breakers are, right? God, you really need to get out from underneath your rock. Name’s Michael—Michael Starr. I’m the lead guitarist & singer for the Chain-Breakers, and the ultimate product of a f&+!ed-up school system and even more b~&#+@! insane foster care racket.

See, I’m used to people making fun of me. That’s what happens when you’re a kid even their mother didn’t want and fobbed off on foster care. Had a childhood spent bouncing between families, settling in for a bit, doing something to piss them off and getting thrown back into the system again. Believe it or not, school was worse. You think foster parents have no idea how to handle an angry, hurt kid? Try a few dozen teachers who can’t be bothered to care about even their usual students. Add several schools worth of a$!$%#$ kids and you’ve got a recipe for making me.

I’ve been in more than my share of fights. I’ve gotten stomped out and I’ve stomped others out. Hell, I’ve been suspended so many times my high school eventually had to make a special template for my paperwork. You can thank Mr. Norman Weathers for that; that s*#~-eating waste of skin was all too happy to nail my ass to the wall for even the slightest infraction. And I’m pretty damn sure he encouraged some of his students to make my life hell specifically. Take it from me—never take English class if you can help it. It’ll never be worth the pain.

Still… it wasn’t all bad. Music class was the only time I felt I could be a normal kid, and by God did I excel there. I met my band there—Kevin and Natalie both. I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world—they were the only ones who had my back in school, and they were the first ones to stand by me when I got angry. We formed the Chain-Breakers not long after graduating and pursued our dream of making it big in music. Let’s just say that we all had PLENTY of material for songs.

We’re currently on tour, and we’ve stopped here in Phoenix for a gig.

Description & Personality

Michael is a tall, wiry young man with bone-white skin and hair that compliments his eerie, pale blue eyes. He dresses in dark muscle shirts and deep red shorts most days and wears black sneakers at almost all other times. He wears a gold crucifix on a steel chain around his neck.

Michael is a young man who is equal parts angry, determined and understanding. He’s a prickly person at first, but those who can put up with his attitude will find someone who is quite desperate for affection. Those he befriends will find him to be a fervently loyal companion; those who fall in love with him will find a devoted boyfriend. He is currently in a polyamorous relationship with Kevin and Natalie, his drummer and agent for the Chain-Breakers respectively.
