Why are you in Korvosa?

Meridia is in Korvosa because she has nowhere else to run to. She just got out of prison for taking the fall for a job Gaedren promised would be her last. In prison, the young Varisian discovered the word of Cayden Cailean, and has very precise ideas of how to change Korvosa for the better now that she's out.

How has Gaedren wronged you?

Gaedren betrayed Meridia instead of letting her go. She wanted her freedom after working off a debt to him, and he promised her one final job would clear her obligations. Instead, it was a setup that sent her to prison.

And, what major goal does your character have?

She wants to disrupt the corruption in Korvosa starting with Gaedren and ending with the racism against the Shoanti and unfair treatment of the poor by the nobility. No big deal. She just wants to tear down every corrupt foundation the city is built on and rebuild.
