Melor packs up his large tent and hefts the resultant bag onto his back with effort, but then moves on to help with re-rigging various pieces of equipment that may have come loose during their quick escape. He then moves to aid Ardax, but sees the route planning is well underway.

Melor reels from the watery blast, it seems his weapon suffers as well as the next two shots click off but fail to fire effectively. He braces himself for an incoming attack and repositions as best he can.

Assuming I have at least 1 full round to reload my weapon(yay 3 action reload lmao) Hunt the mage, Hunted shot defensive armament

After taking the time to rearm his weapon, forcefully twisting and removing the eight barrels before replacing them with another set he seemed to keep on a sling on his back, before taking the time to carefully reload the new 'spare' barrels. Melor is ready to continue with the caravan.

Upon seeing the drowned creatures he snorts, "They just don't know when to give up. For the Torrentmoot!"

He focuses up tightening his aim on the mage before letting off two shots and posturing defensively.

Melor grins as one of the ghouls is blasted apart by their combined assault. "You are holding well Ironhand, steadfast and true to your faith, do not falter now!"

He racks the weapon again causing it to bark off another triple salvo. The third shot of the weapon sounds distinctly different as an audible click happens as the barrel rolls over once more. Melor grunts, "Will need cover soon."

His weapon quickly barks Twice as he locks eyes on his chosen ghoulish abomination. The orc skirmishes back to keep them in optimal range.

Melor grabs his pack as the waterlogged hordes begin to shuffle onto land, "Elderly and children to the carts, Any who can hold a weapon get it done. We must make haste, and ready to destroy those who would desecrate our sacred time of peace."

While he wanted to keep watch, there was meaning behind the wonders of the floodroad and Melor could not sit idly by when he could despense with wisdom he'd garnered over the years and through his delves into Belkzens' storied past.

So he joined the others adding tidbits of information about how the various holds came to be and how life began to form and develop around the cycle of the flood, with Davorr

Melor doesn't want to send everyone on alert, but he moves to inform the guards to keep an eye out as something seems amiss. He then prepares his own weapon.

Having packed the essentials first and left them to the side Njinga catches Melor as he looks to be about to disassemble his large tent. He turns just before he uprooted the securing pitons of the front side.

"Hail.. though I wouldn't call myself a soldier." He rests on his knee for a moment, "An orcish march to war or one to a camp, they are very different. One a dreadful awe inspiring thing to behold filled with battle drums and Clan-hold chants. The other far more leisurely and pleasant and typically without the sound of braying horns and battle chants. I would not expect something easy, but it shan't run you to death either. We have the young and elderly to care for on our journey."

Melor's brow furrows for a few moments as he rips up the piton and begins to untie the rope securing the tent before moving to the next. "I suspect we will have scouts ahead of the pack due to recent concerns. And that troubles me."

Melor settles in having been listening to the topic of bird migrations from Davoor. But his attention quickly focuses in on Ardax. Once it's clear everything has been said, he gets up and starts to pack for the trek. Sighing a bit as he hefts his gear onto his back, checks his weaponry and readies it. No such thing as being too safe given the events of the last few days.

The orc sighs with relief, "Ahh, many thanks. Were it that I had one of your talents many seasons ago." He lets out a soft chuckle and pats his leg before ushering himself to stand.

"As I said we should tend to the others firstly. I'll check the bears to see if there is any information to where they came from."

Melor returns with the battle concluded and quickly finds his cane, returning the crossbow to the guard as well before finind a seat to tend to his wounds.

"Your zeal is warranted, but we must see to the camp first. Gather trackers, hunters, fortify... see what the chiefs want to do. But first..." He gently touches the torn flesh on his chest and arms, wincing.

"A hand of aid would be greatly appreciated."
18/39hp since Njinga's triple action heal got canceled.

Melor looks around as Njina calls for a retreat, well orcs don't retreat they tactically withdraw. Spotting one of the camp guards escorting folks away Melor shouts at him.

"Guardsman, your cross bow!" He makes a motion for the man to toss it to him and tosses his own cane to the side to distract the bear for a moment while the guard lobs it to him. Catching it he whirls about as the bear moves to snatch at him again and uses the broad object to shove at the hefty creature to buy himself time to reload the weapon. He then falls back getting ready to shoot into the fray.

Something about the air tonight feels just a bit off, and Melor shudders standing to head off from the party for the night assuming it's just the coming deluge. But then his stomach drops at the sound of screams and he turns to see the shambling zombie bears. He makes a break for his tent, but is caught off by them before he can make it.
'Very well then' he thinks to himself, 'Time to do this the old fashioned way.'

Melor braces his sturdy cane in both hands and yells at the threatening approach of the Zombear.
"Lok-Narash!"

Taking his leave Melor spends the rest of the day relaxing in the camp and speaking with various peoples. Including Davorr who seems eager to hear some stories from people.

"Hail Davorr, are you enjoying the festivities, the flood approaches soon. Have you ever experienced it or heard tale? It is said that the ancestors of the clans that tend to live in the mountains were once great druids that could call forth the ice and rain from the craggy peaks, to wash away the pains and blood in the valley to set the cycle straight once more. Why I've even discovered murals in one of the ancient tunnel-ways of our forbearers that discussed such a thing, though it is now more widely known that the floods are simply caused by the snow melt high in the mountains flooding down. But perhaps there is some truth to the matter in that druids or other elementalists were once responsible for aiding in the matter Hmm?"

Melor takes a long moment of silence as he thinks of what best to offer Ardax as advice, part of his job here is as ambassador as well as scout for who deserves the next trade deal with his clan.

"Well securing strong ties within the holds themselves is a start, but that's not telling you anything you don't already know. We must show the world abroad of Belkzen that we stand as a united front of diverse peoples, willing to work with them. Though we shall not be held under any of their laws, nor bow to any of their kings and queens out of any reason other than respect if they've earned it. Though I do not know much about the world outside Belkzen myself as I was born and raised here. So perhaps the others have more deep understanding of the wider world."

Stooping to check the beast, Melor hums. Setting his gear to the side a good distance.

"Maybe, I can track them down, but beasts of the sky are quite difficult to track." He pulls out a knife, "So we'll need something a bit more telling."

He goes to work cutting out the creature's gullet surely it eats something other than the flesh of men that might give them an indicator of where it roosts.

Melor tries to dodge but the antlers of the beast catch him in the arm before those sharp fangs lash out and tear the wound more. He bats at the creature again with the stock of his weapon before stepping away towards his allies, and rattling off another shot. "Die cur!"

Melor squints as the creatures begin to approach drawing his weapon in preparation. "We've got company." Shortly after they're upon the group attempting to steal their shadows with foul sorcery he suspects as their shadows morph.

Melor slings his weapon around and starts looking at the sight with an archaeologists eye, pulling out a hide-bound book and some charcoal to jot down notes.

"Fascinating, we should gather these things, at least keep them from the hands of anymore potential raisings. But yes we should be able to make it back to camp safely, but binding our wounds as best we can for now wouldn't be a terrible idea."
