Background:
Mehilindra was born in the city of Westcrown. Her family, the Longstrides, are merchants of reasonable means, making their living in the city trading in imports from various regions, Absalom, Taldor, Varisia, and even having a small bit of import business from the Tien lands across the northern mountains. Often times the nobility of Westcrown being what it is, having strange tastes or exotic wants, being able to provide both the mundane and the exotic is a necessity.

Mehilindra spent much of her formative years working with the caravans and the port officers, often spending time with the guards and learning about logistics. They also spent a good deal of time teaching her about various kinds of weapons, and even training her with a rubeus, a wooden training sword, which they gave her as a gift.

At the age of ten, in order to satisfy the conditions of a contract agreement, Mehilindra was sent to train and learn at a temple of Iomedae. She trained until the time that she was twenty five years of age, where she was inducted into full knighthood, as a Paladin of the Inheritor.

Her training consisted of learning about not only combat and defense of others, but also of the healing arts, and training to learn to speak well in public settings. It was amazing to some of the priests and clerics how her devotion and compassionate heart helped her to learn some of the more intricate applications of healing, and as such qualified to join the Ordinis Hospitium, a group of knights and clerics at the temple devoted to the healing arts.
The one that that always got her into trouble was her violent temper, which she inherited from her father. As she grew as a paladin esquire, her anger often manifested in battle rage aimed at those who both practiced and harbored injustice and evil. At times, her anger was so unshakable that poeple often thought her possessed by something, some spirit of justice or perhaps vengence as she sought to visit justice or punishment on wrongdoers. This lead to many many hours of training in meditation and anger management, which now often leaves her seemingly detached, and emotionally absent. Abandoning her emotions has become her coping mechanism at times because she is unable to trust in them, and trust that she could hold her anger if she gave them free reign.

Upon her return to the city just a month ago, Mehilindra was astonished to see what has happened. Her parents quickly ushered her into the house, and bid her to hide her holy symbols and armor, as they did not want the hellknights to come knocking down their door. More piled on, as she witness public beatings by priests of Asmodeus, guardsmen hauling off poeple without any suspicion of law, and citizens averting their glance and hushing their children in order to try and make themselves less apparent so that they would not attract attention to themselves.

Leaving her ceremonial armor behind, and most of her travelling gear, taking just bare supplies and unmarked armor and weapons, carrying only her trusted silver holy symbol given to her by the Hopitaler order's head cleric, Mehilindra seeks to try and find others in the city to battle the evil of a city that has lost itself. She seethes as she must stay her hand against injustice and evil, in order bring about the good that is needed. But she will do her best to affect the change nonetheless.
