So, Ssalarn, will the new Arcforge: Technology Expanded book have something similar to the Technomancer PrC that utilizes psionic powers (particularly as a power source) instead of arcane spells ? I would be very interested in something like that-

Totally agree with you here Steve. I've been burned by a few Kickstarters -- some of which got a lot of press. I understand that this might be important from a publisher's standpoint. However, Scott and DaveMage's initial posts make me, as a KS backer, more inclined to support those publisher's who follow those guidelines.

Same here Changing Man. If you scroll up to my earlier inquiry, it looks like they anticipated a release on June 7th, but I don't think that happened (as it is now almost July). TBH, I probably wouldn't have backed the LCoB. The main reason I did was to get the Dunes of Desolation pdf early...

When it says "materials provided", its not clear if the GM means 'characters provided' or not. Yeah, what exactly does "materials provided" mean? Thanks for bringing that up Radiarch Eklesya.
I think you're on to something Shadewest. That would explain, Silent, Still, Heighten, and Quicken. Now that I look at it, its pretty obvious. However, I can't figure out why Empower Spell would earn 3 defiler points and not two (as it uses up a spell slot two levels higher). They same goes for Extend (2 defiler points, but uses up a spell slot 1 level higher) and Maximize (4 defiler points, but uses up a spell slot 3 levels higher). Hmmm...
Hi everybody. I haven't posted much here, but I need some help. For years, my group and I played 3rd/3.5 edition D&D. Two years ago we switched to 4th edition. Recently, we all got a bit burnt out and decided to switch to Pathfinder However, we were still pretty excited about Dark Sun and we want to continue playing in the Dark Sun campaign but we went to use the Pathfinder rules. I was able to find the rules on defiler magic in Dragon Magazine 315 and we really like them. Basically, the Dragan article suggests a point system whenever a character uses defiler magic. When a character uses defiling magic, they can apply a free metamagic effect to a spell the moment it is cast. However, when doing so, they earn defiler points. Gaining defiler ponts causes a negative reaction to the character, defiles the land around the character, and if a character gains so many points, they could end up an undead defiler. The article provides a table with how many defiler points a charcter earns with each metamagic effect. Here's part of the table: Make Spell Silent … 1 defiler point
So my question is how many defiler points should a character earn for the other metamagic feats listed in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and the Advanced Player's Guide? It appears that a character earns more defiler points for using certain metamagic feats and less for others. My understanding of the 3.5 rules is a little rusty, but I'm assuming they did this as some metamagic feats are more powerful than others(?) Anyway, I would like some help to determine how many points a character would earn for a Widened Spell and an Enlarged Spell. Also, we plan on using the Advanced Players Guide. So, if anybody has any suggestions for assigned defiler points to those metamagic feats (specifically Bouncing, Dazing, Disruptive, Ectoplasmic, Elemental, Focused, Intensified, Lingering, Merciful, Persistent, Reach, Selective, Sickening, and Thundering) I would greatly appreciate it. Again, thanks for the help :)
I'm wondering if somebody (Thanis Kartaleon?) would be kind enough to update this list? With the conclusion of Paizo's license to produce Dragon and Dungeon magazines effective September 2007, I chose to receive back issues of Dragon and Dungeon in place of my excess subscription issues. In addition to the awesome adventures in Dungeon, I'm trying to figure out which Campaign Workbook articles sound the most intersting. Any help is greatly appreciated. |
