Hey everyone, I have found a GM to take over the game. I'll be able to start next weekend, he's out of town this week on vacation. His name is Geoffrey and he's done a lot of White Wolf chat rooms games in the past. My company, Gooddevil Press LLC is up and running. We should have our first PDF out by GenCon. When the Moai book comes out this winter or next spring I would love to put you guys down as play tester. Just email or message me on here with what names you would like to be put in the book. I thank you all again and am sorry I have to pull out of GM duties.
@Gorgoron- I love that podcast. I work long hours in a factory and listening to my head phones is the only reason I've not gone crazy. It's the best gaming podcast I've found. @Everyone- So atop of my normal job and normal weekly gaming group I've been writing for Kobold Press and trying to start my own RPG company. I originally thought I would be able to run this game mostly from my phone on my brakes at work. That is turning out not to be trust. But instead of pulling the plug on this game I would like to bring in a 2nd GM to be the main GM while I help out. If you all can just bare with me for a couple more days. I'll do my best to get this game moving forward once again.
12 misses her CMD
She holds in a scream and for a moment she seemed to wake from a dream. Then her eyes glazed back over and she turned back to the trigger of her transfermation, Sturvok and his talk of seeking of the Toda. She breaths in deep and harnessed herself like a drawn bow while taking her last step. In the pit of her stomach her ki tighten, then calmed and burned out in a pulse of swift energy shooting two lighting stabs like a viper's fangs.
Tears in her eyes she seems so frustrated and confused. "Why are you making me do this? Why couldn't you all just to sleep?"
On the Poison, I wrote up this poison to be a low level, cheap poison. I'm listing it at 60gp still (compared to the Drow Poison at 75gp) because going to sleep is still so dangerous.
Culdren 22
For story purposes I'm going to fudge the rules a little. Culdren, you now know that you are poisoned but it will not effect you during the surprise round, but on your turn during Round 1. This will mean you make your second save (Fort DC 13) on your second round.
Hey guys, sorry I've been absent this weekend my wife kidnapped me. I know there is a fight about to start and we have a discussion going on here about the poison issue. I'll try to chime in tomorrow from work with my phone if I get time. I have the person your are fighting typed up but I would like to type up the priest or at least find compatible stats for him before the fight starts. I'll take my notes to work tomorrow so I can try and work things out. Sorry again and I'll post in the morning on this discussion.
Gorgoron, I'm going to have you go ahead a roll for the coffee as I don't see these dwarves having tea. Maybe black beer if you had asked for it, but not tea. Culdren, I am going to have the poison effect you, so you are sickened.
As the conservation moved forward Dimma brought out a tray of bread and butter from the side table. Returning to center table she begins to butter the beards and readies the toaster shaft for the fireplace. As the conversations veers toward Sturvok wanting to putting Androm Toda to the question. She starts walking toward Sturvok with a tray of bread and slices summer sausage. Bluff 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
If you guess what to start a group on Facebook or have me private message you when when I post we can do that. As I'm working a day job that is swing swift and starting a 3rd party publishing company, I'm a afraid this will be the common speed that I can dedicate to the post. I apologize if this is too slow for some of you but I would like to keep going. I just want to be up front as I rather not disappoint any of you with the slowness of the game.
Sibiliar looks at Culdren with some surprise on his face. "Antorm the archaeologist has taken' on the name Toda? As a house name or has he dropped the name Antorm all together?"
Arnor: Your Knowledge Local: New Teshla turns up nothing really, just general knowledge not worth repeating to the others.
Your Knowledge History however tells you that the "Sun Knight" was one of the first great hunters of undead, and he or she, depending on the tale, battled the Clan of the Owl with a great gorilla warfare campaign.
Arnor: Your Knowledge Local:Moai Cultral Check only tells you that their are many stone swords in Moai legends, the name Toda sounds familiar but you can't say us. However you do know of this Antorm, as all Moai in the New Teshla area do. To the Moai he is a grave robber, to the humans, he's a adventure that brings back exotic magics and magic items that help them fight their war with the undead of Old Teshla.
Just wanted to log on for a minute and report. I'm working nights this week and will need to look at my notes before moving forward. I'm hoping to do this tomorrow evening when I wake up. If there are any questions or concerns about the game play please feel free to ask. I do believe the pace of the game will quicken when I swing back to day shift in two weeks. Feel free to write what your character is thinking in the game play thread within a spoiler box. It will help my understand your character more and direct the adventure more to effect your characters for good and ill. Also, I believed we have lost Alex as his previous post have been deleted by someone. I have two people in mind to fill in if Alex does not return by the end of the weekend.
As Gorgoron is speaking the door opens quietly at the side of the room. Dimma steps in and motions an effeminate, lanky man forward. He is crown with a wild fro of brown hair with a massive streak of gray off his left temple. The gray hairs seem odd about his young face. He give Dimma a slight bow as she exits and then leans against the wall to listen to what Gorgoron is saying. High Redman Sibiliar makes note of Culdren's entry but turns his attention back to Gorgoron as well.
Calcius: Your knowledge is lower than Gorgoron's since you didn't have much reason to research the matter. However, as Gorgoron is speaking the name Ishfar sparks many memories of your home about three weeks west of New Teshla which the humans still refer to as Frontier Wilderness. It was a local legend that Ishfar's tomb was near your home town of Harris' Hunt, a Moai pyramid that what greatly over grown and had no opening.
Gorgoron- with you taking a 20 your result would be 29. You found few different entries on great and magical stone swords as they are a large part of Moai culture. The Toda was brought up in a couple stories and different versions of those stories. In most the Toda was wielded by Ishfar, the Sun Knight, just after the First Awakening. Yet some of the entries implied that it was Toda that was the Sun Knight while Ishfar was his squire and in other cases his lover. All the writings seemed to be second and third hand accounts. What most agreed on was Ishfar and Toda, or "the" Toda, were buried around 10,800 years ago. You trust that number as the keeping of calendars became part of Moai religious rites after the First Awakening, if not keeping account of history.
In the halls the lamps were lit, green light from the algae within tented the halls in multiple layers of colored shadows. The lamps lit meant that there were non-dwarven guess within the Shard Halls, non-moai too for that matter. The walk was not a short one and gave Sturvok non-wanted time to think. He passed tapestries of Thoorus in his greatness, most showing him in the form of a bear in the dwarven tradition but there were a few in the Aramir style with Thoorus depicted as a bull-man. Sturvok took in the scene more that usual as he rarely saw them in the light. The kidnapping of Shiv Feeo Sciff and Thoorus flight to save her, her being skinned by Blood Maries and Thoorus being tricked to flee the battle, and Thoorus forging her new skin of gold and then her awakening and rejection of him. There were so many lessons to be learned for the story. So many ways to apply those lessons to your life as Sturvok has been learning her in the Shard Halls. He came to the iron bond door, with runes of strength and Thoorus text burnt within the wood. He paused for a moment and entered and came into the small room that was somewhat crowded. A large fire crackled in the corner turned cloaking the room in orange and mixed with green light from the open door. High Redman Sibiliar set in a large stone bottomed chair backed in cherry and cushioned in soft leather. He smoked his fat butted pipe as he turned to see who had entered. He was dress in the red coat of his office and a fur trimmed half cloak. A smiled broke through his blond beard dyed red at the tips and he stood, “Tyro Sturvok, I be glad to see ye, lad. There be some fellas here that’a came a long way ta’ see ye as well..” Sibiliar used his pipe to point jestering out to the visitors. “This here be Gorgoron o’ the Lonely Tower, near New Teshla. He and this here moai gentleman, Calcius, have accompanied Master Arnor here upon my request. .” Gorgoron’s green eyes studied Sturvok, wore robes of a strange cut decorated in a leaf motif as did his many belts and pouches. It was his pointed ears that told Sturvok that he was one of the fair folk who fled these lands before he awoke from his last Slumber. Calcius simply glanced over his shoulder and then returned gazing into the fire.
But no. There was no dust on the table and warm air still rose through the vents up from the lower furnaces. Sturvok swallowed. His skin still tingling with panic. He had had the dream many times before, but never with this many verses of himself and none had ever spoken before. It didn’t seem odd, like he had been waiting from them to speak to him. But why now? Just then there was a light knock at the door and a moment later it opened wide enough for Dimma to stick her head in. She was still young by dwarven standards and she filled out her maid robes nice. If there had been light in the room, he would have been able to see her eyes as the brown that they were. But there was no candle lit and they were gray just like the rest of the world in the tunnels. “Master Sturvok, High Redman Sibiliar told me to wake ye if ye had not awaken by mid-cycle. There be some visitors up from the south he would like ye to meet. Some o’ them are of your people I believe Master Sturvok. I haven’t seen them me’self, but that be the work about the tunnels.” Dimma spoke slowly and with a sweet, pleasant voice and looked upon Sturvok’s face for a reaction. Like many around the Shard-Tunnels of Bjarnbyrholl, she believed he had never met any of his own people.
Three Months Ago All was black, and Sturvok flew through the emptiness. Below and above continued out endlessly, yet this seemed a natural and nothing of note. Then beside Sturvok flew another moai who bore his face. The other moai was clad in furs, with his hair in a chonmage. A moment later another Sturvok was decided the two, wearing war paint and missing his front teeth. Then there was another pulling a flute out of a leather case as he flew and began playing it. Than another wearing elven grab and refinement. One that had only one eye and another dressed only in a skirt of iron and gold.
I believe I'll start moving forward soon with the characters that are mostly wrapped up. Need time to work your back-stories into the story arch I had in mind. As the other players get ready and flesh out their characters, we can add them in as we good. I think this will be slow moving at first but I think I'll get the swing of it shortly. Finding a rhythm.
