Farmer Martin Grump has spent his entire life in the area surrounding Sandpoint. His family originally owned a single farmstead to the east of Sandpoint, but over the course of his life Grump convinced the entire farming community to stop competing for the market and pool their resources. Now, Grump is the business manager for hundreds of acres of farmland, and a farming community comprised of nearly a dozen large families. The community is almost entirely self-sustained, and Grump has even been considering forming a charter to turn it into a town in its own right.
Lyssa met Grump through Gabriel Sevilla, and even worked for him for a short time before deciding that farming wasn't for her. While Grump is, true to his name, rather surly, Lyssa always finds an open door and a bed available when she's in the area.
