Male Human Ranger/1

Sigh...I hate the dice engine on this system. Every Check I have failed so far, not even my actual Luck with dice isn't that bad. 2nd Ranger may get left behind.

Climb to Beat DC 15 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Male Human Ranger/1

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Manak listens to the others and nods along when they suggest following the wounded Great Stag, while unable to see it for himself and his lifts up one of his throwing spears ready to hurl it once they have closed in on it after seperating it from its fellows. He gives a a grunt to the others and gestures with the spear tip. "Time to seperate the prey from the flock methinks.

Survival 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Manak follows along, keeping his weapons handy and eyes on their surroundings and tends to stick close to his sister, but for the most part he lets the loud Jushem lead them into the wilderness. As for the rest of his hunting party, Manak did not have much of an opinion. The shaman apprentice Gremm was a friendly enough sort but Manak preferred to put his trust in his own two hands not some great and unseeable Spirit.

As for Roakrak and his pet Bear Lum, Manak had a tendency to crack a rare smile whenever he saw the two going about, as the Bear tended to get into all kinds of adorable antics, none of them disruptive to his work, so he didn't mind him or his companion. His siter was a jolly sort, to him at least, and always tried to get Manak to smile, which usually worked on days when there was something to smile about. The chieftain's daughter though, she didn't seem to like Manak all that much, which suited him just fine. He had heard her assessment of him as a brute and he had shrugged it off easily.

Jushem though, he was a different story. The red-haired man was exceptionally loud even when he didn't need to be, always going on about his beast-mastery although Manak had yet to see him tame anything as of yet. He did not doubt that he was a skilled warrior and hunter, he had grown up alongside the man and trained and hunted and fought with him on several occassions. They got on well enough if Jushem focused on silence.

Manak shrugs to himself and checks the tracks again, unsure of what they were following yet. He hopes that it isn't something too terribly big, the Tribe didn't need two of its best hunters, the shaman's apprentice, chieftain's daughter and one of its only Spirit-Seers taken in ambush by a long-tooth cat or other large and powerful animal.

Manak sighs and puts aside his leathers and stands, retrieving his pack of spears, as well as his iconic heavy wood and bone club which he ties to his back. He raises a hand to Gremm to indicate he will be going to, but hsi mood is black as ever and he rarely ever smiles.

He stands quietly near the others, keeping his eyes observant but his tongue curbed. He knows from experiance spouting doom and gloom made people believe he was a Fire-stoker, or trouble maker, and with everyone's worries on the Princesses' marriage, it would not do to make them even more on edge. He simply stands still, weapons at the ready, and surveys his fellow tribe members.

Manak sees off the princess with a wave of his wide leathery hand and he rubs at his thick beard of blond hair moodily then he shrugs, grumbles something and turns back to his shop to continue working on some leathers. He glances over at his sister waving goodbyes and shakes his head silently, using his needle and gut twine to stitch together a piece of leather to another. Somehow, the owner had torn the cross stiching wide open on the front piece of the thick leather and he had been working on repairing it for quite a few days now.

He sighs and rubs at his eyes, casting another look of his brown eyes back over where the Princess and her guards had departed from. He grumbles again and says, out loud but quietly enough only his sister would hear him, "Isn't right. Chieftain is not knowing what he is doing sending off the girl like that to the Lynx."

I have a question!

How important are our characters? I realize most of us are young, but will we be allowed into any clan meetings, I suspect not because we should have to build into being respected enough for people to listen to us.

I think if we prove ourselves capable on a couple different degrees we will have actually earned the right to speak at Tribal meetings, rather than just saying "The Chief always turns to my character when he needs advice." :)

Also, unimportant but I feel I must do so :P

I claim the first d20 roll of this game MUAHAHAHA!

1d20 ⇒ 10

Edges away from Jushem in the event of Gamemasterexplodingplayerheaditus symdrome :P

The Totem doesn't really matter to me, but personally I'd rather have the Bear as our Totem, as it is both the powerful Titan of the Forests and Valleys as well as a Paragon of Wisdom. It fits for Manak anyways I think, at least in small parts. Just my suggestion.

Gremm does bring up a good point for the naming and such, since Spirits were the only things substantial as far as Gods go in this time period so if we just stick to the Mother Earth and Father Sky ideas I think that would be our best bet for the Religion.

Also, this is just a point made by me Aranik, but I for one get tired of cliches when it comes to a clan being famous for one thing or another. Yes it makes sense to have a Raven or Owl Clan for lots of Wisdom, but people can come from anywhere as can Magic in this world. I read a very good novel not a while back where the group's Magician was a Viking type guy XD All I'm saying is that it would really break the Norm if our number of spellcasters, who really AREN'T such yet if GM Raventhorn means much by that casting magic frequently is a bad idea, are from a tribe such AS the Bear, or something else you wouldn't expect.

:) my two cents.

Male Human Ranger/1

Heeeeey Aranik that's a bit harsh, what are Shano and I chopped Mammoth liver? :P Both of us can handle a bit of the martial stuff, especially since I'll be going pure class Ranger or mixing in a bit of Fighter, and Shano is gonna have a big ol animal companion soooo we can hold the frontline in combat :P

Also, for the GM should we pitch you our ideas for the Totem or would you please provide us a list that you can associate with appropriate gods and such that we can vote on which one/ones we like best?

Male Human Ranger/1

Narrati could be Manak's sister if that sounds ok, but Manak is all right either living by himself or with someone else, his place just smells like hide and leather all the time so probably not a lot of people like to spend lots of time around his hut.

Possibly, since our characters are so similar, Shano's ranger and I can also be brothers, not twins, but still related :)

Any other suggestions for Manak?

Male Human Ranger/1

"Don't bother me right now I'm fixing some hides to make into leather armor so shush! Oh, clan totem? Anything big is fine by me."

No problem with that, can easily redo feats, Rugged Northerner makes perfect sense to me since we're supposed to be living in post-ice-age world. :)
