About Malcolm Darr

Malcolm Darr looked around himself lazily in the crowded tavern. It was a busy night tonight, patrons squashed in like sardines in a pan, he really should report this to the fire guild but for the moment it could wait. His cloak hung wetly by the door, the crimson red of the guards and his hat sat soggily in the middle of the table. The warm food streamed in front of him and he ate it leisurely while drinking the warm cider. All in all, he'd had better, but it was warm and that was better then the temperatures outside.

Malcolm finished off the bowl and stretched his lean frame, lit up a braal, and puffed on it gratefully. It had been a long day - two homicides and a pimp that had beaten up one of his girls so badly an eye had fallen out. He counted at least 3 pick pockets working the joint but decided to wait and see what happened. Most of the crowd had figured on the night being rough, their coin pouches were tied just near where their hands could brush against them often. He waited a few more long minutes and decided the crowd was too busy, flipped the tavern owner a couple of coins, grabbed his cloak and headed upstairs to his room.

The tavern room had been his home for the last 2 years. He really hadn't planned on staying this long. But the days were interesting, the pay wasn't too bad and he liked the atmosphere of the city. Sure it was run down. Sure it was dangerous. But it kept him on his toes, and the violence was quick and challenging. His wet shoes hit the floor with a 'thwop', the cloak was hung on a hook and his rapier placed on the stand near his bed. The room was mostly barren, a few trinkets here and there, a chest and clothes. He traveled and lived lightly - it suited his style.

The rest of the clothes were pulled off and night clothes went on. The blankets were warm and heavy, the pillow was lumpy and Wallace felt relaxed. He drifted off into his normal light sleep, and wondered what new things would happen when the dawn woke him back up again.
