Majda is a pretty woman, though not so much that it's all consuming. She stands a little taller than the average Avistani woman, and has a fit athletic build. Her hair is typically braided and held back from her face by a headband. Her lower right leg and foot are twisted unnaturally outward, and stunted. She wears armor fashioned from thick hides, and has a small wooden shield strapped to her back. At her waist there is a wicked looking morningstar swinging from a belt loop, and a well-worn sling tied around her like a second belt. She normally smiles, freely meeting other peoples' gazes with her sparkling grey eyes.

Usually accompanying her is a huge black stallion with a long flowing mane and tail. He's outfitted with the same heavy hide armor that she wears, and has the temperament of an animal trained to fight.

Background:

Majda Orlovsky was born on her family's estate on the Choral river, in the foothills east of Mount Veshka. She is the only child of Grigori and Hevlana Orlovsky. She was born crippled, with a badly twisted right foot. Grigori and Hevlana were desperately hoping for a strong male heir, but instead they got her. They saw her as a burden to raise, and thought her likely unmarriageable. She would be nothing but a drain on the house's already strained resources. Majda would only push them further from the real Orlovskys, the ones who lived like princes. Grigori especially was ashamed to have sired a cripple. Majda's parents left her rearing mostly to servants. Hevlana did have a secret soft spot for her daughter though, and commanded that the servants provide her with anything she should want (within reason). Her youngest years were typical of any noble born youth. She spent her time with tutors, learning how to be a lady. Once she was seven years old, she was taught to ride for the first time. Majda instantly fell in love with the sensation of moving rapidly about, unhindered by her crippled leg.

From that point on it was always a battle between her and her tutors over how much time she spent on horseback as opposed to reading books or working on her needlework. She was an excellent rider, and demanded that she be taught to hunt and track by her father's woodsmen. She loved the wild, and spent as much time out where there were no walls as was possible. When Majda had her first moon blood, something strange and wonderful began to happen. Suddenly she was able to do things, randomly at first, but with greater control over time. She could create light or water at will, mend broken objects, or exert a sort of minor charm over people already inclined to listen to her. She was beautiful, smart and ultimately, very responsible for her age. All the servants loved her and doted on her like a little princess, but her parents remained icily distant and disapproving. Especially her father. The appearance of magical abilities and her constant gallivanting around the countryside had only made her worse in his eyes.

Around this time she formed a special bond with a young colt named Thunder. No one else could tame him, but from the first time Majda approached him they shared a deep spontaneous bond. Soon enough he was her horse. No one else was able to ride Thunder. He was unusually smart for a horse and very protective of Majda. By the time he grew up, she was also a woman and feeling that she had to get away from home. The situation with her parents was never going to change until she proved herself to them undeniably. She also needed time in the world to explore and develop her constantly growing magical gifts. She had heard of expeditions being set up by the Swordlords to reclaim the Stolen Lands. Something like that would be perfect. High Above is the family motto for a reason. She would win a kingdom with honeyed words and diplomacy. She would heal the land of its neglect, and make it productive for all. She would show them what a true Orlovsky can accomplish.

Personality:

Tomboy; Majda can and does do all the things that men traditionally do.

Kind; Majda tries to be nice to everyone, even people who don't deserve it.

Empathetic; Majda can sympathize with others very easily. She's sensitive to other people's feelings.

Wild Woman; Majda doesn't like cities or towns, and she hates crowds.

Independent; Majda doesn't need anyone's permission to do anything. She's also very hesitant to commit to anything that carries future obligations for her.

Non-Violent; While she has no problem with self-defense, Majda hates fighting and will do everything she can to avoid one.

Loyal; Majda is loyal unto death to those she considers friends or family.

Generous; Majda cares little for material wealth. She has an appreciation of practically usable items, but she's not greedy and more than willing to share with others as long as her own basic needs are being met.
