Magni grunts in agreement, unslinging his hammer. There was a chill in the air that he didn't like, and he positioned himself near Alice as well, nodding at the rough human.

I guess I'm sort of assistin with the lock picking?

"Well, I think that this is about all that this dwarf's hands can do fer now," Magni says, watching Alice work on the cage. "Perhaps tis time to find the vittles and see about sleeping arrangements given the weather."

With that, Magni will head downstairs to see if the fireplace is still functioning. It can get quite cold in these winter storms.

"Lad, perhaps 'tis time to try the honey rather than the horsewhip," Magni suggests gently, patting Alice on the arm. "Can ye not see the thing wishes to be free as you and I are? Perhaps for it's freedom it'll help us with whatever yon ghoulies be waitin' fer us out in the by and by. Or perhaps, bein' as it's a magical creature, it'll be able t'lead ye to some treasure as such as ye may have yet to see. Either way, perhaps ye can try unlockin' the cage again. Desna be guidin' ye."

As he touches Alice, a small portion of divine energy will run from Magni to Alice, and Alice will feel a bit luckier all of a sudden.

Magni has gifted Alice with a Lucky Presence. The target of this luck can call upon it to roll any one ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check twice and take the better result. The decision to use this ability must be made before the roll is made. Once used, or once 1 minute passes, the effect ends. Once used, the effect ends.

"Aye, but ye can leave that t'Desna t'deal out as she feels is needed," Magni says as he makes himself comfortable. "Fer is it nae true that she watches over them as needs her help? Perhaps she'll see fit t'let little Vrixx out of his cage if'n Alice is of the prayin' persuasion or can persuaded to prayer." Magine chuckles a little to himself at his wordplay.

Magni reaches up and tugs on Alice's arm. "Don' ye think ye be layin' it on a bit thick," he whispers. "Yon wee winged one looks to be a bit frantic already. Ye're liable t' give him an awful fright at this rate."

"Desna blesses us wit' luck when we need it. Wit' a big enough hammer, you can make your luck when you want it."" Magni ponders his words for a moment. "Wit' that much fire, I'd say we have a decent sized hammer fer swingin' at the bigjobs as may need a swingin' at."

Magni will happily hand the quartz over.

"Aye, but 'tis no whether or not we believe in the gods tha' matters sometimes. Sometimes, it be whether or not the gods believe in ye," Magni says, giving Alice a wink and a nudge. "Asides, the gods seem t' see fit t'help them as helps themselves and them around'em as it were in the by an' by," the dwarf adds, hefting the bag of coins. Tying it to his belt for safekeeping, he lifts the blue quartz once more. "Oh, this wee rock be yours, ye we bairn. And fer yer freedom and th' returnin' of this rock, what are ye proposin' in trade?"

"I think yon wee one has taken the journey past the horizon and back again for all the flutterin' he be doin', fer sure, fer sure," Magni comments. "Bein' full o' the chatterin as he are, and flitterin' about, but if'n we're to free someone, let it well be to free someone who may as well make themselves understood as naught."

Magni putters around through the room, talking as he goes. "And th' blaggard Rokhar is right to have run from Orksbane, as ye're right to have admired it," he says, tipping the hammer to Alice. "Desna'd nae do things by chance, ye ken, she would nae lead her faithful astray. 'Tis by her plannin' that I've ended up with ye, ye see, fer the by and by she's let me wander aimless fer far too long." Picking up the quartz, Magni takes a moment to inspect it.

"What sort of troupe are ye all, for ye're all as funny a bunch of birds as ever held to flockin' t'gether." This question is directed primarily at Alice, though anyone can answer, and Magni lets it hang in the air for a moment.

There's some swearing in the corner from Magni, something about something being tighter than he remembers is being tighter than he remembered it. "Sunovatreerootgrowin'intath'mine," the dwarf mutters under his breath. Finally back in his armor, and with Orksbane back in his hands, the dwarf comes rushing in after Alice.

"Alrigh', where's the blaggard that thought 'twas a good idea to put a Hjalmar out of reach of his hammer and---oh," the dwarf stops thoughtfully. "Seems the villain has done scattered himself in the hopes of avoidin' the bruisin' we were t'give him."

Sorry for not posting. Getting armor on takes approx. 1 minute, so I figure that'll after Alice's next check is resolved.

While Jujo and Alice hold the conversation, Magni gives a satisfied grunt and walks over to begin collecting his equipment. "Tis back to the hands of a Hjalmir with ye," he says to his hammer, "And fer the smashin' o' the skulls o' the blaggards who thought they could do otherwise with ye."

Provided there are no immediate interruptions, Magni will begin re-equipping himself.

Magni follows close behind Jujo and Alice. While he's eager to get his gear back, his lack of armor is making him feel very under dressed for the occasion. Carefully, he looks everywhere, trying to pinpoint the location of everyone he can.

Perception check to identify if anyone else is moving around on this floor and just not speaking, i.e., enemies waiting to attack.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

"Aye, some doin' about with the auld boys upstairs is a long time coming from where this dwarf stands," Magni chuckles. "Desna'd nae like it if'n I were to let such a foul piece of mould continue on in his way, so it'll be fer the puttin' down of dogs and restorin' what's mine as me own and what it may be, and my hammer, at least till I get me true weapon back, shall be swingin' alongside ye fine folk, for their never was a Hjalmar to back down from a fight, least of all Magni!"

Magni waves the hammer that Alice has loaned him as he speaks, and stands ready to head up the stairs.

It should be noted that I've used up all of my good rolls for the day.

Knowleddge(Engineering): 1d20 ⇒ 19

Magni looks around at the structure while the woman talks. "We should be fine here. Some smoke and fire damage, but nothing t'worry about for the by."

Turning his attention to Alice, Magni walks over and begins inspecting him. "Well boyo, I see ye've done taken your fair share of damage for the day. How's about we cut a deal o' good faith, eh? Desna'll heal ye right up if'n ye're truly a decent sort, and if the chance takes it that she does, you can show me to the hammer I had with me t'other day so that I can introduce the blaggards that took it to it's business end, eh?"

Without waiting for a response, Magni places his hands over the wounds and utters a prayer to Desna.

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Magni climbs up the ladder and out of the cellar, examining the circumstances he now finds himself in. "A'right, let Magni take care of this fire and we'll get things sorted out right quick and all that."

Waving his hands, Magni mutters a small prayer to Desna.

Casting Create Water over the fire nearby.

Looking over to Alice, Magni raises an eyebrow. "Well boyo, looks as though you've had a rough shake of things in the recent here an' now if I'm not mistaken."

Has anyone tried reaching out directly to the GM?

I'm here, and I'm planning on saving Alice, because Magni needs to be able to have someone tell him where his gear is.

Looking down into the room will show, aside from a very loud lady, a humbly dressed bald dwarf in a plain, worn tunic, trousers and boots, wearing a dark grey winter cloak. Magni had a very perplexed look on his face that morphed into pleasant surprise as the door was opened. His hand had been stroking his luxurious beard, but as the door opened and hope flooded in, he sprang into action.

Moving over to the foot of the ladder, Magni threads his fingers together act as a stepping stool for the loud woman. "Oh, but if you don't get yourself out of here, lass, then we won't be able to tell anyone what the right idea is."

Here is Magni Hjalmar, Wandering Warpriest of Desna. The backstory is more of a bare bones (sorry about that, I'll flesh it out more tomorrow) and the feat/ability descriptions will be put on this profile tomorrow so their full descriptions are readily available.
