When she does act, Mae does not hesitate. With her finest royal yell, she charges the undead atrocities, magic shield ready to bash!!! Free Action: Rage!

"So then, you'll be twiddling your thumbs, handsome." replies Mae, springing to form up behind Rowing, swinging her morningstar and favouring the arcanist with a toothy grin.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 Mae's ears prick up, facing east. "Yes, that sound. It's coming from the east." The doughty warrioress peers into the blackness and waves her morningstar meaningfully. "Sounds like chains. Or a heavy flail. Or could be the stomping of something large caparisoned in armor that rattles. A cage on legs?"

Mae stares at the bleached field before them. "Hmpph. They really don't clean up around here!" She takes in the nature of the doors and the chains. "So an armless creature dwells on the other side, and occasionally gets let in to eat folk?" Still, the brave brave warrior stands her ground, not keen to enter - her fingers tensing on her morningstar.

Not one to miss an opportunity to insert herself for an immature reason in the midst of events of plane-shattering importance, Mae pouts. "B-but I wanted to go next to Lu-elly. She likes me!"

"Oh right. This makes perfect sense. People I can see are invisible, but people who are invisible aren't here. Would someone please kindly explain to me what the dev...ehrmmm. Oh never mind...." Slightly catching on, Mae taps the pedestal and waits to turn invisible.

After listening to such dire predictions, Mae is somewhat nervous...or sheepish. Hard to tell. Whatever the mood, she is distinctly uncomfortable. She holds her hand in front of the woman's face, and moves it to and fro. "Alright, Miss pressy-ents - what did I just do, and will I ever do it again?" Just to be extra tricky, Mae remembers herself and waves the hand a second time, to be sure reality and control have not been wrested from her royal self.

That's the mental image I had too - if the pit is created where he is, then he would be depending from the chain into the cavity made below him, by his leg where it is chain'd and thus, initially, upside down...

I'm happy to be challenged as to whether or not to murder things. :) I think we are up to the roleplaying challenge of seeing if we don't get into a party wide confrontation over a moral quandary. Makes a change from murder hoboing anyways...

Mae moves toward the demon, casually swinging her morningstar. But she does not charge, nor move within his reach. "So....are we to murder him? Can we at least let him off the chain...make it less....murdery?" I'm a bit confused - are we trying to kill him?

Mae walks slightly backwards toward the demon, still chatting with Steph and Miagnik. "Scary? I'm very unimpressed. He looks like something the cat dragged in after a good night on the town, a town in which the choices were extremely limited."

Mae, apparently thinking this is a test, where the answer is "either must", not "or not if they don't want", focuses sharply on the word "dangerous" - the flustered princess neglects to resort to haughty indignation, and quickly panics. She points at Windel. "Him!"

Mae looks the jumped up dwarfdemon up and down. "Careful how many orders you give Lulu. One wrong move and I'll brain you down so hard your toes will start thinking on their own." Mae turns to...someone else. Anyone really. In her most softest yet convincingly authoritative voice: "Now we just need to close that door and open the other one." [smiles]

Mae listens with growing excitement as first Miagnik has been showing he's paid attention to just how great and powerful Mae is, and then rattles off his plan for demonic domination. Trying not to show it, Mae settles herself. Eyeing Hal carefully, she takes a fairly infamous stance then whispers to her sister. "Actually Stephanie, if you are going to do this "wresting of power", best you put it under my command. Strictly on a deference to authority kind of protocol of course." |
