The big hunter stands over his prey for a few minutes, breath rushing through blood-soaked teeth from the exertion of the kill. At Gaeldrun's words, he grins back at the half-orc ... a grisly sight, and nods. "This thing is done," he says around too-large teeth. Then he stoops to search the bugbear's body, letting Ekkie get a good, close-up look at the carnage.

Ma'Huuk roars as his inner beast explodes to the surface once more. Teeth and claws flex and gnash in anticipation of prey-meat as he steps towards the waiting fight. Totemic transformation for natural weapons and rage. Then move forward. Can someone move Ma'Huuk 4 squares to the right?

Ma'Huuk looks down at Ekkie, leaning down so his knee, shoulder, and offered hand make an impromptu stairwell for her climb into the pack. "We are moving on." Ma'Huuk stands over his grisly kill, catching his breath as his body reverts back to its original shape. He does nothin got stop Ekkie from further mutilating Versevosh's body as he turns to Several. "An epic?" he questions, clearly mystified, "And people would listen to this thing?" He bends down to dig through the dead goblin gear. "You do me much honor, Several." Finally, he looks back at Ekkie. "Was this the Goblin leader you spoke of? How many more are down here?" As he waits for an answer, he searches the ground for any signs of which way might take them to the most remaining goblins. Survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Sorry for the delay. Busy weekend. The dino-Ma’Huuk bellows his challenge to the goblin leader as he thunders across the bridge, heedless of the threatening dog slicers of the little goblin runts. Double move, ending adjacent to Yellow.

I moved your token, Gaeldrung. You said "to the bridge", so I stopped you just short of it. Would you prefer to use your full speed to move across it? If so, that would move you two more squares north on the map.

Ma’Huuk doesn’t wait. He begins a rhythmic chant that is half-yell, half-roar. The chant has a rustic, ancient sound that seems to pulse in time with your heartbeat. With each shuddering pulse, the big tribesman seems to shift, grow, and … transform. His form lengthens. His hands, which drop his deadly spear, expand into dangerous claws. His face stretches out, the bones underneath shifting and rearranging as teeth emerge to create the visage of a great saurian predator. He roars a challenge at the goblins as he stalks dangerously forward. Activate Totemic Transformation to gain natural weapons. Move forward.

Ma'Huuk gives the goblin a sarcastic grin, "Do you think?" He stands back up, pointing to the end of the hallway, "Most goblin tracks lead that way." Unless someone stops him, he sets off to follow, warily watching the hallway—and each fork—for traps. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

I'm gonna wait to see if Gaeldrung killed it before posting. I don't want to miss the turn, but if the fight's over, my actions may be better used helping other folks out of the pit than climbing down in it myself.

Ma’Huuk wastes no time, barreling through the dark to sweep the legs out from under the tiny dog-slicer-wielder. ”YOU ARE THE NIGHTSOIL MARAUDER GOBLINS?!” Close to melee, then trip. Unless the goblin has Combat Reflexes, it shouldn’t get an AoO.

Ma’Huuk leaves Gaeldrung’s religious preaching and the light of the surface behind. As they descend into the darkness, he provides his own light, whispering to life a heatless flame that rests atop his spear’s head. Casting and maintaining Light on his spear. Fort, DC 8: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 The big man wrinkles his nose, but seems otherwise unaffected, as he looks at their filthy surroundings. He gives Several a quick look, but doesn’t move to help him, focusing instead on their surroundings … and the goblin ambushers that no doubt lie ahead. Bregan wrote: ”A regular rat warren down here. Ekkie? Which way?” Ma’Huuk nods and shifts his body, so the slits in his backpack give the hidden guide a good view of their options. ”And where do we think attacks will come?” Once the goblin gives instruction, Ma’Huuk will give the group a chance to make any preparations, then marches into the gloom, spear at the ready. I don’t think we have anyone in the group that fits a traditional scouting role. Plus a few of us will be walking (loudly) around in the dark with obvious light sources, so I’m guessing our arrival won’t go unnoticed. Given that, I’d say we just take up a marching order expecting trouble. Ma’Huuk would be most happy at the front. :D

Ma’Huuk endures Gaeldrung’s intensity, the scowl never shifting on his features. When Gaeldrung turns towards Tersus once more, the Mwangi-man wipes a bit of spit from his face and listens to Bregan’s input. ”Gaeldrung is not wrong,” Ma’Huuk interjects, including both Tersus and Bregan in a look. ”Strength preys on fear and weakness. We can remove this threat today. When another threat finds this man’s family again tomorrow, though …” He shrugs, ”… we will not be here. It is your choice, Tersus. We are on the hunt today, either way.”

Ma'Huuk turns fully to look at Gaeldrung, as if seeing him for the first time. "YOUR Lord in Iron, Gaeldrung. What right do you have to demand this thing from this man? If this man wishes to live as a coward, that is a choice that is between himself and whatever gods he prays to." He reaches across and claps Gaeldrung mightily on the shoulder, a strike that would likely send most men sprawling, but only shifts the stout half-orc a half-step. "I respect your strength, Gaeldrung. But you do not speak for me. And you do not speak for this man. He will choose his actions this day. As will you and I."

"I do not think that's smart," Ma'Huuk says with a frown over at Gaeldrung. "We were tasked to remove this threat. If this man is no warrior, there is no reason to put him ... and us in danger more having him along."

Ma’Huuk face palms. (At Ekkie, not at Several.) ”Ekkie!” he grunts back over his shoulder at the goblin, ”Shut your mouth!” He looks back at the man, ”Then maybe we can be your goof friends. This goblin is helping us hunt down the others. Help us now with information, and we will find this big goblin and put him in his place.” He looks at the man’s facility, ”The cellar? Is that where these little demons come from?” Can Ma’Huuk identify what or who the big one is that is threatening Tersus?

Ma’Huuk does his best to listen to the little creature’s story … fighting to understand her through two distinct language barriers. (Both of them being poor Taldan speakers, it seems.) Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 At the Knackery, Ma’Huuk is caught off-guard with Several’s approach, but happily goes with it … meaning he stays as quiet as he always does when people are using talents he doesn’t have. Something off to the side catches his eye, though. ”You have had a fire recently.” He points to the burned remains of a large shed off to the side of the main building. ”What happened?”
Lvl 3 Human :: HP 36/36 :: AC 16 CMD 17 :: Fort +10 Ref +2 Will +8 :: Init +7 Perception +7
Ma’Huuk stands impassive through Shelia’s interview with the little goblin. If he’s surprised at the plan, it doesn’t show. All that shows is eagerness to get to take action. ”I will do this thing. Of carrying a goblin in my pack.” He looks down at Ekkie, ”You will be in for a ride, no? Plus,” he shrugs, showing a big, white smile as his dark eyes touch on his fellow pathfinders, ”Pathfinders will show you what a team is that is worth joining.” Without waiting for anything official, he pulls a crude knife from his belt and begins cutting view-slits in his pack. Happy with his work—despite its messy, ramshackle appearance—he opens it for the goblin to see. ”Two things, little goblin. One? Do not take anything from in here. And two? DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN HERE.” I”m more or less ready to go smash some oversized gobbo heads. >:D

Ma’Huuk recovers what appears to be a three-inch claw or talon. Anyone knowledgeable in animals will recognize it as a dinosaur claw … a deinonychus, to be exact, with gold-inlaid runes along one side. The big tribesman holds it, stares at it, his features hardening. He watches the little goblin freak out about the skull, and then speak to the air. His features go from glower to concerned scowl. ”You speak to this brother? Plarg?” He looks to his teammates, making a face that clearly says ’is this creature mad?’ I don’t recognize the name Shelia Heidmarch. Should we as players know it from this scenario?

His deep voice continues in its strange, foreign cadence, ”I was thinking this creature who was stealing our things might have a reason to do it. And maybe this creature would speak easier if it had both arms.” He looks to Gaeldrung, shrugging his massive shoulders, ”But if you are saying you came to steal from us on purpose, maybe I will regret putting your arm back on.” Then again, he says, leaning in close to look levelly at the goblin in her eye, ”Maybe a goblin will want to change her mind? Maybe w are better friends to have than these Nightsoil Marauder goblins.” ”What did you take?”

Ma'Huuk, who'd been reaching to grab the goblin's arm at the moment of its removal, scrunches his face at the bloody mess. But he doesn't hesitate to reach down, bloody his hand to retrieve the arm, and proceed to jam it back into its bleeding, ragged socket. With his other hand, he draws out a wand and begins muttering chants to bring it to life against the destroyed shoulder joint. After a few moments of wand-work, the arm is back on. Crooked and misaligned, but most likely functional. He doesn't let the arm go, securing the little beast as his wand brings it to consciousness. Basically he'll spend whatever charges are necessary to stabilize her, then bring her back to consciousness once she's firmly grappled. Let me know how many CLW wand charges that'll cost me.

I have no options at range, either ... and I don't exactly have line of sight to the bugger even if I did. :/ Ma'Huuk crashes into the busy street, but gets mired in the jostling of locals and their wares. SHOVE PEOPLE ASIDE, DC13: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12; sheesh. This just wasn't meant to be. In a few heartbeats, he's stumbling slowly towards the other side, but nowhere near in time. He growls in frustration, looking around for his teammates for any sign of the direction of the pursuit.
