Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus nods and looks around them, watching for movement.

"Aye, we best be off. So Ameei which way?"

Yeah Kayos is fine, just been busy I guess.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus watched Sam prance and jump around after the merrily burning squirrel and shuck his head in wonder and bemusement. Then with a firm voice he says.

“No Sam Longshanks your stop your sky larking ‘bout, yon critter seems happy enough. An’ besides you want whatever else lives in these here woods down about our ears?”

His voice softens, and he gives a small smile.

“Plus a’ nit like it’s the strangest thing we’ve seen since we left.”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus looks at the strange dagger; it did indeed look magic, or at least strange. Then he saw the squirrel reappear, this he found odd when the small fluffy creature appeared to set its own tail on fire he found downright weird.

“Why is that squirrel on fire?”

he asked in a somewhat bemused tone.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus spends much of the walk in silence, mainly just enjoying the feeling of being outside again. When they fine the corpse he jogs up in support of his companions, the sight of the strange creature and the smell of its putrefaction bring a slight grimace to his face which soon passes.

“What is that?”

He’d never seen a thing like it, though it had ears similar to the elves but the bulk and colour where wrong. Lyus thought it looked to be a warrior of some kind, or maybe a brigand, a woodsman wouldn’t carry a sword.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus is slightly shock when they emerge in what looks like the woods back home, a further surprised to see his is wearing his work worn leathers and has his felling axe over his shoulder. He shrugs and looks to see that everyone else appears to be equipped, apart for Todd. He hefts his axe and nods; well at least he now had something familiar and solid to ground him. He looks towards Ameei.

“So lass which way now?”

Male Human Fighter 1

Well then, best be off.”

Lyus nods to his companions and stands up and looks around the grill. He turns to Redd and smiles.

“Thanks for the food, much appreciated.”

He then turns to Ameei.

“So which way be this door?”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus looks around trying to work out where the voice had come. He then shrugs; it wasn’t the strangest of happenings today. He looked at the others.

“Depends on how long yon door stays open. Though I’d like to equip our self’s first mind.”

He turns to Ameei and asks.

“I guess you’d be the one ta ask on both counts?”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus looks somewhat confused at Iz’s words. But thinks better of it, he then nods.

“Aye help is always good.”
Lyus the n turns to his other companions.

“If we plan on heading out early we should probably get some sleep?”

He’s realizes he has no idea on the time, but sleep would be good before venturing out to gods knew what.

Male Human Fighter 1

A sad smile lifts the corner of Lyus mouth and he gives a slight nod. He hoped that what Iz said was true. His smile brightens a little.

“Aye lass, an’ finely spoken, as for the folks at home I’m sure they’ll be all right.”

Then a though strikes him.

“Say Iz, we’re here ta fine young Grace Clover, youngest of them that run the village tavern. We was told that she came through here. Would you help us find the lass?”

Male Human Fighter 1

‘Rova, yes six months in a matter of moments by all the gods did that mean...’ The thought showed on his broad face as a down turn of his mouth and a narrowing of the eyes. Then he nodded banishing at lest the outward signs of his distress.

“Aye your Da’s well enough, still works at his carpentry. Our Rann takes him wood an’ such when needed.”

As he spoke he gave is what he hoped was a reassuring smile, obscured as it was by his expansive whiskers.

“Well as I say tis good to see ya well, an’ in such good company.”
He nods to Redd and Ameei.

“An’ my thanks to you an all for making us all so welcome.”

Then he remembers and smiles more genially and turns back to Iz.

“As for your Da eating well Aira takes him food an’ such. You know how she is.”

His eyes soften at mention of his wife. She’d care for everyone is she had time. He hoped she’d be look after herself while he was away and that he’d see her again.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus listens to Iz speak, hoping she was right. For her sake and his, the he recalls something.

“Lass I think I remember when it was you left. Tell me was it midsummer, when you was last at home? I know you meant no harm by it, an’ your Da’s fine, so try not to fret.”

It was true he seen Loric the night before in the tavern. If his reckoning was right Iz had been gone 6 mouths.

Kayos

Spoiler:
OCC: Thanks hun :), an your silly so :P lol.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus shakes his head looking troubled not sure what to say. He looks at Is the concern plain his face.

“Lass... it anit a jest, truth be told I not sure how long you been gone.”

He looks around the room, the worry now creasing his brow. It was true he didn’t actually remember when she had gone missing; it was a long time he thought. They had been only gone, what a few hours, gods how long since they left the village? He ran a hand over his face.

“Lass it’s been more than a few hours. . . I wish I knew what was going on.”

He to looks to Ameei the worry still plain on his face. He need to know if what he thought was right and at the same time he hoped it wasn’t.

“Ameei I remember something from old tales I was told. That time don’t move the same in Faye lands. Is that right?”

Lyus couldn’t think straight this was too much, what had he gotten into and would he ever see Clearbrook again.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus looks a little no pulsed for a moment, he was sure he was right. Wasn’t he?

“Sorry lass I seem to be confused you are Loric’s daughter right? You’ve away for a while it’s been a year or more, I think.”

again a look of confusion clouds his face.
“But I anit sure.”

Kayos

Spoiler:
occ: Andy is rather confused also, it was the same Clearbrooke right?

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus wasn’t bothered by the looks from the others in the bar. When the girl came over he remembered her, or rather he knew her Da.

“Isabella Glas as I live an’ breath, so this is where you got to?”

He smiled and then remembered his manners.

“Sorry lass I’m Lyus Fivetrees I worked with your Da, he’ll be clad to know your safe that’s sure. Tis good to see you, how’ve you been?”

He hadn’t expected to see the young women again let alone in such a strange place. But then it did make sense he supposed. He smiled warmly and nodded at one of the vacant seats at their table.

“Sit thee down lass. How long you been here then?”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus looked at the young human women as she walked in. He could swear he knew her from somewhere. But where, he turned to Todd.

“Todd, you recognize yon girl?”

He gave a small nod in her direction.

Male Human Fighter 1

After Todd speaks Lyus nods.

“Aye Todd’s a’ fine barber, best the village as ‘ad.”

He then grins to Ameei.

“Course as young Sam said, you must have a’ interesting life in this place.”

Lyus looks around at the other customers. It was an odd but not unpleasant feeling being, well studied they where a curiosity round here he thought.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus smiles at Sam and then turns to Ameei and thinks for a moment.

“Well, there aint’ much to say ‘bout me really Ameei. Been married to my Aira for a few years now, never really gone far from Clearbrook till now course. My son Marcus is ten an’ we got another on the way.”

He smiles happily as he speaks of his family. He then gives a good natured shrug.

“N' thats bout it ta be honest. What ‘bout your self?”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus raised a shaggy eyebrow at the confirmation that where they were bound the trees could move and think and where as a live as he. Then a strange thing occurred, he felt a pang of, well guilt at his trade. It past but left an impression on his mind. He listened to Sam speak and could help but smile at the young man’s energy, he to remember Sam’s Da’s stories, He turns to Sam.

“Aye he’s a good man you’re Da.”

[i] His smile broadened behind his brisling moustache, as he said.

“An’ think on the tale your have for ‘im when we get back ah.”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus puts down his knife and fork and uses a hunk of bread to mob up the remaining gravy.

“That’s better, Aye what manner of... thing we like to bump in ta’?”

He take drains the last of his drink and wipes the foam from his moustache.

“An’ how do you mean ‘tree’s play too many games’? There, not the most playful o’ things.”

It was then a horrible though struck him.

“Unless...”

[i] He grew slightly pallid, ‘tree’s can’t move... can they?’ For a man who made his living as a lumberjack this was a rather frightening thought. [/]

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus pauses in his eating to take a deep swig from his odd summer drink and wipes is mouth with the back of his hand and goes back to his food. The etiquette for this place sounded odd, but fair enough, it wasn’t his place to judge. He carries on eating quietly and listens to the buzz of conversation around him; he felt the most content he had since he entered the forest earlier in the evening. After pausing and taking another drink he looks over at Ameei.

“So, can you tell us anything else about where we’re off t’?”

Its just how im used to writing on boards lol :).

Male Human Fighter 1

As Lyus walks over to the fire pit he glances round the room casually, ‘just like the tavern at home’. Apart for the other worldly appearance of some of the customers, this odd thoughts somewhat at ease, after perusing the meats he pointed out a few interesting looking cuts to the waitress and after thanking her he help himself to some vegetables and gravy before returning to the table. He opened his pouch and took out the leather wrapped cutlery set he always carried it had been a present from Aria, one year she had finally tired of him eating with his hands and dagger at the table so she had got him the set. He smiled at the memory and then tugged in to his foot. In between mouthfuls he looks up at Ameei and says.

“Good meat this, not sure what it is mind.”

Male Human Fighter 1

I have got sniffles and I’ve only just checked the board :P. Sorry haven’t posted, family holiday.

Looks around the room takes in the odd assortment of folks and shrugs. ‘Ah well, least the food smells good.’ He thinks to himself as he sits.

“Aye, I think I’ll go for the grill an’ all. As for a drink, I’ll have a pint of glowing summer... stuff.”

He then clanked around again and says with a smile.

“Nice place here, I see that business is good.”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus looks up from his now empty glass and says.

“Aye this Grill sounds grand ma’am. An’ thanks. “

He smiles gratefully at Oriniya, he then looks at Todd and the others and says.

“S’ right we’re all out of sorts here, but we need to stick together. Last thing we need is losing someone else tonight. We all got to look out for each other.”

Then with a nod he smiles broadly at his companions.

“You know, we goin’ ta have a hell of a story to tell when we get back that’s sure.”

Then with a laugh he turns to Oriniya.

“Well ma’am lead on”.

He was still a little worried but, he wasn’t sure if it was the strange drink or just this place. He started to look forward to this well adventure really. He was sure he’d see home, Aria and Marcus again.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus nods, and takes another swig from his well... summer drink. When Ameei said about all fours he looks slightly confused.

“Begging your pardon Ameei, but are you saying you was that coli?”

After a moment he shrugs, it wasn’t the oddest thing to happen today. Then he realized that he too hadn’t eaten in some time.

“Aye some food and a bed would be welcome, and as for your company. I’d appreciate it, most like make our task the easier for having a guide that knows the land.”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus is somewhat taken aback by the impromptu comedy performance, and rather the laughing with the others he sympathise with Sam. Once the others have died down he lays a reassuring hand on the young man’s shoulder.

“Don’t get down hearten lad, we’ll find her an’ if as Todd says she wants to stay then that’s hers to say. But if she is under some sort a’... influence or other then aye we’ll rescue her right.”

He then turns to the others his face serious.

“Aye well I don’t know noting bout magic an’ such. But this place sounds trixie, all out war or skulduggery we stay low an’ try not to draw attention.”

He then turns to Oriniya and says his tone respectful.

“Thanks ma’am anything you can spare would be a grand help. As for message, if there’s nought to be done then fair enough. I’m not gonna pretend I got the first idea of how such things work, so I’ll leave it to them what do.”

Then bowing slightly to both Oriniya and Ameei Lyus says.

“Thanke Ladies you’ve been a grand help I hope one day to repay you in some way.”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus looks down at what he’s wearing; hardly the clothes to be going into a violent and unknown land full of gods knew what, at least he was wearing his work boots. He look to the others and then at Ameei and said.

“Don’t suppose you have any weapons here by chance? Or tools would do at a pinch.”

How was he going to get word to Aria, she’d be worried sick.

“Also if it’s not too much trouble do you have a messenger here? I like to let my wife and folks back at Clearbrook where we’ve gone an such. So they don’t worry too much.”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus puts down his drink an looks towards Ameei at hr mention of conflict.

“Aye are we goin’ to be stepping out in the middle of some war?”

The concern is plain on Lyus’s face and in his voice.

Male Human Fighter 1

“Todd has a point Paulus lad.”

Lyus looks at the tray of foreign drinks and takes an oddly glowing golden one. Mainly because it has less foliage then the others, and takes a drink, he smiles. It reminds him of summer when he was a small boy. ‘Odd’ he thinks to himself. Then he looks up and says matter of factly.

“Well If that’s where the lass has gone then that’s where we go. Dragons or no dragons.”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus nod’s slowly, his face become slightly less perplexed.

“So all the stuff about elves an Pixies and such aint’ just story’s for little ums?”

Now properly looking around this strange pub glade. He sees that indeed he and the other villagers appear odd and out of place, and says quietly to himself.

“Bugger.”

Male Human Fighter 1

For a moment Lyus stands looking somewhat confused before saying.

“She’s gone were with a what? Sorry Ma’am but all this is a wee bit... odd.”

He looks to the others for support hoping he was the only one feeling lost.

Male Human Fighter 1

With a rather relived expression Lyus walks up to Paulus and Todd.

“How do, where’d you fellows get to?”

He shakes his head a smooth’s his moustache as a look of concern darkens his face.

“Now we need to find the young lass.”

He turns to Oriniya.

“Miss Oriniya have you seen a young girl come through here?”

Lyus describes the Gracie.

Male Human Fighter 1

Sam and Kayos

Spoiler:
Lyus looks around the ‘bar’, nice but reminded him of work. He then turns to Sam, feeling a little sorry for the young man and his current predicament. He is somewhat surprised when a ferret appears from Sam’s shirt.

“Aye Sam I’m afraid the young lass is still missing.”
Lyus then also remembers his manners.

“A pleasure Miss Oriniya, would I be right in thinking that you run this fine establishment? If you wouldn’t mind having your folk see if Mr’s, Todd Peel and Paulus Crumb have ended up here an all. It’d be grand help.”

Male Human Fighter 1

Sam an Kayos

Spoiler:
Lyus felt somewhat odd, not bad or even angry. He had been rude to ignore the poor lass. With a rather relived sigh he walks up to Sam. He acknoladges the younger mans greeting.

“Glad to see your well. Call me Lyus, Mr Fivetrees is my da. Anyway we'd best be on our way”

Lyus turns to the women sitting with Sam.

“Thanks for looking after him ma’am I’m grateful. Oh an thanks for... clearing my head.”

He bows slightly to the women looking a little confused. Lyus wondered if she was one of the elves he heard of. Then he turns to Lilac.

“I’m sorry for ignoring you Miss, I wasn’t thinking, I was worried bout my companion here. And I’d never betray my wife like that. She means the world to me. So no I’ll not be playing lass sorry.”

There is no animosity in his voice, but his words are firm and his face set.

“Now Sam any idea where Todd and Paulus are, or in fact where we are? And Misty’s safe Moss’s has taken her back to the village.”

Then something clicks in Lyus's head.

"Hole? What hole?"

Male Human Fighter 1

Spoiler:
Lyus doesn’t reply as he heads for the staircase leading up and started up. Were the hells is every one? And more impotently were where his companions.

Male Human Fighter 1

Spoiler:
He ignores the last part of what Lilac says and walks down the corridor looking at the number doors on the way Lyus asks Lilac over his shoulder.

“Some kind of Inn?”

Then as an afterthought.

“Maybe you should have got a bit more dressed lass.”

He walks up to the double doors at the end and opens them.

Male Human Fighter 1

Spoiler:
Lyus had to think for a moment about that one, he had no idea.

“Well he’s younger than me, an closer to your age I’d guess.”

It was getting a little hard for Lyus to concentrate, then the image of Aira swam into focus in his mind’s eye.

“I’m sorry Lilac, but I can’t take you up on your offer. I love my wife and I need to get back to her, so I’m going to have to be on me way now lass. Besides I reckon I’m old enough to be your Da.”

He turns and walks to the door and open’s it.

Male Human Fighter 1

Spoiler:
Lyus face reddens somewhat with the sudden contact. He places his big hands carefully on Lilac’s shoulders and pushes her away gently, an apologetic expression on his broad face.

“Now lass, I’m sorry but I'm married. You’re a pretty young girl I’m sure you’ll make a young fella very happy one day. But I have to find my friend Sam, have you seen him, young fella dark hair, taller than me and rake thin?”

He didn’t want to upset the girl. She was very pretty but all Lyus could think of was Aira, gods she must be worried sick.

Male Human Fighter 1

Spoiler:
Lyus ricks a quick look towards the bed and then wished he hadn’t. At least he’d found the door.

“Well ma’am I can’t stop long, got to find young Sam and the little um... hang on did you stay bring me here?”

His mind suddenly focused he turns to look the young women in the eye.

“Who are you and what is this place?”

Male Human Fighter 1

Spoiler:
Lyus is understandably shocked; he realizes that the young woman on the bed is pretty much naked. With a slightly embarrassed cough he turns away from the bed.
“Sorry ma’am didn’t mean to disturb you. I’ll just be on my way.”
Feeling somewhat wrong footed by the whole thing he blows out the lantern and sets it on the floor, and looks around for a door.

Male Human Fighter 1

Spoiler:
“Ah bugger.”
Lyus looks down to the now dark lantern, or where he thought the lantern was. He takes his tinderbox from the pouch on his belt and tries to relight the lantern. Listening for any noise as he does so.

Male Human Fighter 1

“Good plan Paulus”

After some time following the trail Lyus then looks up at the others a says in a some what confused manner.

“Thats damned odd. The tracks have stopped.”

He points out to the others where the trail stops between the three trees.

“See beyond here no more tracks.”

Then he looks up and shines the lantern in to the three large trees in turn.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus follows the others lighting their way. He nods as they reach the spot, he watched Paulus in his search.

"You got the trail Paulus?"

He then turns to his youngest brother and nods.

"Aye Moss makes sure she gets home safe. An when you have go tell Aira what we're doing right, quietly mind and tell her not to worry right."

As they go he shakes his head.

"Silly younger bugger."

He says under his breath as he watches his brother and the girl head back. Then turning to Todd he says.

"As you say Todd, lets go."

Survival to follow the tracks.
1d20+5=18

Holding the lantern low he starts to follow the trail.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus nods, that made sense. He turns to Todd

“So Todd you think we should head back to the village and raise a search party?”

Then Lyus has a though.

“Hang on, may it not be better just us go. The thing is, a lot of folk not used to the woods especially at night, and some of um worst for drink and merriment. Well my thinking is we’d end up sending a search party for the search party.”

Lyus looks at the others.

“Plus don’t want to worry everyone, and we do have guests.”

Male Human Fighter 1

So that was it, the younger of the three sisters had gone a wandering, Lyus mused to himself.

“Aye less don’t fret, Sam knows these woods like his own foot.”

Lyus nods and gives Misty a reassuring grin. He then shot his brother a warning look.
If he pulls anything funny I’ll brain him, Lyus thought.

“Right then, let’s go. Misty, lead on.”

Lyus stepped up next to the girl holding the lantern around waist level so not to blind anyone. Then as an after though Lyus turns to Paulus and nods at the coli

“Ere Paulus who’s dogs that?”

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus after running back to the group opened the lantern and lit it from his tinder box. Thankfully it was already full of oil, when it was burning brightly he looked at the others in turn then turns to look at Misty.

“So what happened Misty?”

His voice though concerned was also gentle; he didn’t want to distress the poor girl anymore. He hadn’t heard the exchange between Misty and the others.

“You mentioned someone had gone missing? Not to worry sure we’ll fine um. Where you see um last?”

He assumed that Sam had gone on ahead, some how gotten himself lost.

Male Human Fighter 1

After he speaks he looks back to the woods and narrows his eyes and tries to pick out what coming at them.

At seeing the obvious distress on Misty's face and the lack of Sam, plus the girls words, Lyus feared the worst. He turns to Paulus and says.

"Right I'm going back and grabbing a lantern. Don't anyone move deeper in till I'm back."

Lyus heads off at a flat out spirit. This was starting to sound less and less like the lovers tryst Moss assumed it to be, and more sinister by the moment.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus jogs ahead to get level with Moss, he looks forward a peers into the darkened wood at the sound of running feet. He lays his firmly hand on Moss's shoulder and says quietly.

"You may not need to go after um Moss."

After he speaks he looks back to the woods and narrows his eyes and tries to pick out whats coming at them.

Perception

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus saw the worried expression on Paulus face.

"You can head back if you like Paulus, I'm sure me an Todd can handle things. I'd not blame you, but I got to shift. Moss is a right bugger once he gets a notion into his thick skull."

Lyus turned and jogged after Todd and his brother, he was in time to hear the tall end of what Todd was saying.

"You pay heed to Mr Peel Moss, stop being such an Arse."

He was starting to lose his patients with his little brother. Plus he shared Paulus concern, the woods weren't safe at night.

Male Human Fighter 1

Lyus nodded, the younger man had a point.

"Aye your right Paulus, a light would of been handy. As for young Moss he maybe pigheaded but I hope he has more sense then to do anything daft."

As they walk on Lyus smiled and said.

"An call me Lyus, Mr Fivetrees makes me feel old."

Lyus really hope Moss wasn't planing on doing anything stupid.
