About Lyle Brandt
Lyle Brandt was born into a farm family that lived near Restov, growing up Lyle was familiar with a lot of hard work, too many siblings and stories of the lost Kingdom of Celtara. Even as a boy Lyle was skeptical of the stories, a land full of promise, where farmers could get just as rich digging for crops as miners could digging for gold, seemed unlikely at best. Still the stories were entertaining, and they made chores easier.
In Restov, when a boy turns 16 he is required to undergo militia training, when Lyle reported for training and was tested his exceptional agility singled him out for scout training. Lyle is of mixed opinions on this, while scouts are valuable and don't have to work as hard as regular troops. There's currently a civil war brewing in Brevoy, which means it's only a matter of time before his militia unit gets called up.
Perhaps, volunteering for the colony into the Stolen Lands is a viable alternative. They might not be able bring back Celtara, but at least all he has to worry about there is bandits and monsters instead of an entire army.
