Thanks for running and thanks to everybody for the introduction to PbP! I hope I see you all around.

Instead of a day job role, Lykos will be rebuilding Nakondis (one of my slotted boons). I have to succeed at a DC 16 profession check.

"What's he doing with webbing? Be careful Chk'tarish!"

Lykos fires off more magic missiles at Ipsoth in support.

Magic missiles: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4, 4) + 3 = 14

Lykos lets his magic do the talking as he launches a magical barrage at Ipsoth.

Magic missile full round: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1, 4) + 3 = 11

Lykos rushes up by the edge of the trees, pulling his laser pistol out. He'll let Chk'tarish do the up close fighting but can't help out with anything behind all of these trees.

Lykos is ready to go.

Lykos's stealth ability is... not stealthy. I'm fine going in guns blazing unless a majority want to try stealth, but as Chk'tarish pointed out, we have a giant Renkroda.

Lykos, having no idea what he's doing, tries to project calming thoughts toward the creature.

"Easy there... Nice renkroda..."

Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 10

Seeing the giant Renkroda fall, Lykos rushes forward with Spanner.

"How can I help?"

If Spanner needs help with Engineering, Lykos can aid another automatically. +10 to Engineering checks.

Would life science help here? Mysticism, somehow? Lykos will make some initial checks to examine the Renkroda.

Life science: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 With the Cyberborn theme, Lykos treats life science checks as having a DC of 5 lower than normal if they pertain to cybernetic augmentation techniques, if applicable.
Mysticism: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

Lykos continues laying down covering fire for Chk'tarish. Every little bit helps, or at least he hopes so.

Azimuth laser pistol: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7

Unfortunately, it's not very effective.

Lykos attempts to provide some covering fire for Chk'tarish, lacking any reliable way of dealing substantive non-lethal damage to the Renkroda.

"That's more like it. Be careful, Charles!"

Lykos peers through the trees and takes another shot at the remaining Lashunta.

Azimuth laser pistol: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 - 4 = 10

"This is just not working out for me. I'm never going to hit as long as we're on these vehicles."

Not wanting to expand all of his magic, Lykos steadies his pistol on the Lashunta that hit the vehicle again.

"Here goes nothing!

"As expected, there went nothing." Lykos says in frustration.

We still add the -4 to our ranged attacks because of the vehicle movement, right?

I believe they're riding a renkroda and aren't in vehicles. They damaged our vehicles not the other way around. Are you targeting the lashunta I damaged earlier?

With the jeeps pounding along in hot pursuit of the renkroda, Lykos surveys the situation.

"I don't have anything non-lethal to fire at Vossi and my odds of hitting one of the Lashuntas with a gun are probably pretty low. Fortunately I have one thing that will hit them."

Lykos concentrates and unleashes a magical barrage at the Lashunta that managed to hit our vehicle.

"It looks like it depends on if we want our best people driving or shooting," Lykos comments. "I can hop in the driver's seat of one of these if we want our best people shooting. Otherwise I'll just grab one of the passenger seats and see how I can be useful once we get wherever we're going."

"I can pilot okay," Lykos says, eyeing the vehicles. "Probably better than I could shoot, anyway. Or I suppose I could just be along for the ride."

Lykos has a +8 to pilot (3 ranks) but only a +4 to gunnery (+2 BAB).

"Of course we will try to take the renkroda alive," Lykos says, nodding. "We cannot give the ecological terrorists more propaganda of dead renkrodas, even if they're at blame for putting it in danger.

We've had time to take a ten minute rest at some point since the first combat, right?

Lykos jumps in, too. "Let's go save that renkroda!"

Lykos gives a knowing wink to the studio audience.

"Radaszam, any luck with those vehicles?" Lykos calls out. "These mercs say Ipsoth's people are probably going to be trying something big!"

Lykos holsters his pistol and nods in agreement.

Lykos continues firing at the remaining formian.

Azimuth laser pistol: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

"Finally! Got you!"

Damage: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 3) + 2 = 9

The formian takes an additional 1d4 burn damage at the start of its turn.

Following Tiktik's lead, Lykos moves to get a better shot at Green and blasts away.

Azimuth laser pistol: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Seeing the formian rush forward at his friend Chk'tarish, Lykos moves to try to distract the merc.

Pulling out his azimuth laser pistol while moving from behind the tent but still a few feet back from his other compansions, (move action) Lykos shouts "Hey, get away from him!" at the formian whily trying to lay down covering fire for Chk'tarish. (standard action)

Azimuth laser pistol: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Lykos curses under his breath as his shots uselessly fly well over the formian's head.

As Lykos hears Spinner read out a "instinct redirection transducer", his ears perk up.

"Let me take a look at that!" Lykos exclaims, hurrying over. "I might be able to figure out what it does."

Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 +4 vs traps
Computers: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Mysticism: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 +4 vs traps

Lykos's Cyberborn theme also gives him -5 to the DC of Engineering checks involving cybernetic augmentations, if that applies here.

After recovering from the feeling of compsikanias swarming all over him, Lykos begins walking back toward the bodies.

"Now that that's over, does the human match the description we were given of Carthas? We can at least report in that we found him, and whoever this lashunta is."

Overwhelmed by the distracting swarm, Lykos moves away from the creatures as quickly as he can. Move action

"What on Castrovel are these?"

Lykos moves forward to a position adjacent to the tiny dinosaur creatures. (Do I move me on the map? I moved Lykos.)

He feels a familiar tension as he activates a biotech implantation in his throat and unleashes a cone of electrical energy at the creatures!

Lykos leans into the conversation, trying to think of something to say. He starts to speak a few words, "Yes, I also thin..." before becoming distracted the engineering design of the enclosure.

Lykos will head over to the animal pen.

Lykos thanks the guards and is ready to enter the gala.

"Maybe I'll go check out that animal pen..."

"Renkrodas? Now that you mention it..."

Continuing the conversation with Chk'tarlsh in Vercite

Lykos will have purchased formal attire before embarking on the yacht.

He looks down at Radaszam and remarks, "Do you know anyone attending the gala with an interest in robotics or cybernetic enhancements? That's more my forte than zoology and ecology, but I'll do my best to make a good impression for the Society."

Lykos smiles, returns the greeting, and begins speaking to Chk'tarlsh in Vercite.

It is nice to meet you. My name is Lykos. I don't believe I've ever been on a yacht before. Neither the unique planetary rotation of Verces, nor my interests, has led to much time on an ocean.

The verthani is wearing normal clothes and has an azimuth laser pistol at his side.
