I am planning on starting a Kingmaker AP with my group and i have a quick question for anyone that might have the same issue as me. I am listening to an Actual Play Podcast of Kingmaker and it feels like since the group has been in Book 2 "River runs Red" the group has been going thru characters at an alarming pace and have to keep replacing Leadership of the town. Most of the leadership is now NPC's and the PC's have lost alot of say in the matters of building the town. I was thinking to remedy that, at the start of book 2 i could have my guys roll up new adventurers to act as the group that goes out to check Hexes. I was thinking just have them roll up characters of the same level they were and RP it like the Leadership that chartered the old group has chartered the new guys to survey land while the old group acts as town leadership and have my players RP as their old guys in build mode and then their new guys when they explore

I do have a few questions with this. I am not very far into listening to this podcast and I don't know how much actual level plays into leadership of the town but if it ends up playing a big part should i scale the Leadership players Xp to match that of their new guys? Same question with gold and items for the Old guys; should it scale.

Is this a good idea; is this a bad idea. If i could get some ideas on this that would be great. I am looking to start having my group play this in about 5-6 weeks. Thanks!!

I have never played an rpg past 1 sitting with the group i used to play with. they would never call back and set up a second one. sure they would call back 2 months later and say "hey lets get a scenario going" but we would stop after that 1st meeting and never hook back up again. But with pathfinder coming out i think i might have found a good home in a group that meets 2 times a month and they are in need of a fighter. Their old one had to move for work.

I dont own the pathfinder rule book so i am using an old 3.5 book that i played with my other group to come up with ideas. So here is my idea for my 1st Character for pathfinder.

Name: Basutei Fellgrain
Race: Human
Class: Fighter

I chose human so i get 2 feats when i first make my character. My 1st 2 feats would be Power Attack so i can work my way thru the ranks of it and get all the fun stuff thats in there. And Exotic Weapon Proficiency and wield a Spiked Chain. My reasoning is i sat in on a 3.5 game in my local game shop and the fighter of that group was making the group of enemies look silly with his chain. So i was wondering what u all thought about this as a possiability? Input appericated.

To start off some background. I have only played 2 total sitting of any rpg. One being 3.5 the other being d20 modern both with the same group of people both campaigns ending after the 1st meeting. I listen to a podcast where they play a few different rgs one being 4E the other 3.5. I really enjoy them and i really want to start playing, sitting infront of a computer playing WOW gets boring. I just got married 3 months ago and she likes WOW but won't try rpgs of anykind. I found a game shop in the same place where i am trying to get a job and they have a group trying to form for pathfinder. My question is hows the best way to get my new wife keen on the idea of either me staying in town to play for 2 and a half hours on wednesdays or getting her to play and at least try it out? Serious answers please!
