Special Abilities
--------------------
Race:
Bonus Feat: Is exactly what it says on the tin.
Skilled: +1 skill rank per level.
Class:
Challenge: Once per day, a cavalier can challenge a foe to combat. As a swift action, the cavalier chooses one target within sight to challenge. The cavalier’s melee attacks deal extra damage whenever the attacks are made against the target of his challenge. This extra damage is equal to the cavalier’s level. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day for every three levels beyond 1st, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level.
Challenging a foe requires much of the cavalier’s concentration. The cavalier takes a –2 penalty to his Armor Class, except against attacks made by the target of his challenge.
The challenge remains in effect until the target is dead or unconscious or until the combat ends. Each cavalier’s challenge also includes another effect which is listed in the section describing the cavalier’s order.
Halfhearted Challenge: Sisters-in-arms vigilantly protect their allies, weakening their focus on their challenged foe. A sister-in-arms adds only half her cavalier level (minimum 1) to damage rolls against her challenge target.
Maiden's Order: A sister-in-arms does not choose an order. Instead, she is considered to belong to both the order of the dragon and the order of the lion, and she gains all of the benefits of both orders (including additional class skills and conditional skill bonuses, additional challenge benefits, and order abilities) at the appropriate levels. At 1st level, a sister-in-arms chooses which order’s edicts she must follow (Dragon)
Tactician: At 1st level, a cavalier receives a teamwork feat as a bonus feat (Scarred Legion). He must meet the prerequisites for this feat. As a standard action, the cavalier can grant this feat to all allies within 30 feet who can see and hear him. Allies retain the use of this bonus feat for 3 rounds plus 1 round for every two levels the cavalier possesses. Allies do not need to meet the prerequisites of these bonus feats. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day at 5th level and for every 5 levels thereafter.

Backstory
--------------------
Warning: The following backstory contains spoilers for the Curse of the Crimson Throne Adventure Path.
Zoey Arvanxi always hated her family. Her parents were neglectful, her older siblings cruel, and her uncle, the Lord of the family, disparaged her plain face and fierce disposition that made her difficult to court and, by extension, useless to him. The only family member she found remotely tolerable was her cousin Ileosa, ten years her senior but always willing to spare some time for her. Zoey looked up to Ileosa, and as such maintained correspondence when her favorite cousin abandoned the family to marry the king of Korvosa, and, a decade later, travelled to the city herself to join Ileosa's newly formed Gray Maiden order. This would prove to be a mistake.
While her cousin had always been a bit cruel-and honestly, few among Chelish nobility weren't cruel-it would later become publicly known that Ileosa had gone insane, and that the various acts of "imposing order" that Zoey went along with, trusting Ileosa's judgment, were actually the acts of a cruel tyrant. It didn't help that the indoctrination of the Grey Maidens, a long and drawn out process of torture and physical maiming, left the entire order as fanatical devotees, and while Zoey skipped most of it, already intensely loyal to Ileosa, it still left her as physically scarred as her sisters and easily identifiable to the masses as one of the Maidens. When all was finally said and done and a group of adventurers had revealed Ileosa's madness and slain her, Zoey was left with no choice but to flee the city with several of her sisters, becoming a band of wandering mercenaries with nothing to their names but the armor on their backs and the swords at their hips.
