Male Dwarf Monk (Sacred Mountain) 2
I just want to note i'm still here and following the game closely, Lothar just doesn't have too much to contribute right now in terms of active skills, checks and interaction. In this situation he would be keeping a wary eye on ambushes, having assigned himself int something of a bodyguard role.

Lothar had been a quiet companion throughout the journey. Although he said precious little, he was clearly listening to many of Reginald's lessons about magic. Now the group were approaching the ruin, he brought his spear into play, keen to spot any ambush or new inhabitants the ruin may have attracted over the long years.

Lothar hurled his spear at the closest scorpion, irritated that he had not seen the ambush coming. The spear clattered against the floor, utterly missing. Lothar then moved into melee with his targeted foe... Can't see the map, GM please move me/interpret the actions stated. Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

On the journey, Lothar was even quieter than usual. In a whirlwind of battle and diplomacy, his wards and liege lords the Tharnhammers, with his humble help, had broken a force of Drow and secured the allegiance of an entire settlement. Less than a couple of months ago, Lothar had been little more than the young scion to the last of the Graelson line; a family fallen from grace and he himself forced to work in the mines to support his kin dreams of honor, glory and proving himself as a warrior idle thoughts in the daily grind. Lothar knew he had acquitted himself well in the battle, many Drow falling to his sling and spear. Truth be told, though, he felt a little out of his depth with the trials and travails that surely lay ahead. Despite his doubts, Lothar knew full well that he was more in his element than many of his kin with his keener darkvision 90 feet from years underground in the mines. Lothar assisted in setting up a rope for everyone else to descend, testing it with a strong tug and watching over the descent with a wary eye to the darkness, his loaded sling in hand. Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 Lothar will descend last- taking 10 on Climb for a 14 with the rope.

Lothar patted Nurin on the shoulder heartily. "An excellent combination; stunned from my blow he had little chance to evade your axe. Well struck, sir." Lothar felt a quiet sense of pride at his accomplishments in the battle. He had done much on this day, to honor the debt his family owed the Tharnhammer's.

Lothar eyed up the full-plate armored Drow approaching and decided that he should be his main target. He hurled his spear up at the Drow leader, the throw on-target and displaying unusual accuracy for a Dwarf with only modest agility. Thrown Spear VS Damiel (FF AC): 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 1 = 20

Lothar immediately hefted his now blood-drenched spear, the unarmored warrior left without a scratch although looking rather grim with the blood of Drow upon him. Reginald will surely be hard-pressed by the main assault. Can we spare the forces here, expecting lightning to strike the same spot twice? I will defer, Pravic, but perhaps we need every man at the front line with us now? I believe it would be wise to leave a single runner, a non-combatant; to warn of any such trick, should they try it again.

Lothar charged in to support Bali, his spear having claimed the lives of two Drow and showing no sign of stopping. Despite the raised shield of the Drow before him, Lothar was simply too swift with his lunge to be stopped, the weapon gutting another of the Elves. Attack (Charge): 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 + 2 = 18

You do yer' ancestors proud here today, my Lord. Lothar intoned in response to the battle cry. Lothar strode onto the pier, moving to take what limited cover he could behind one of its wooden posts and firing a sling stone. His shot was an excellent one, taking the Drow high who had landed in the chest, the power behind the launched stone noteworthy. Attack (Ancient Emnity, Fighting Defensively): 1d20 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 1 - 4 = 17
AC17 + any cover bonus gained+ Deflect Arrows.

Seeing Ingrid handling herself well and Ivy about to strike, Lothar surged into battle beside Pravic Fortitude: 1d20 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 5 = 19 Resisting the foul stench of the creature, Lothar joined Pravic's melee against the nasty smelling humanoid- charging forward with gusto, the talented warrior drove his spear straight into the creature's chest. Severely wounding the slave, Lothar looked to Pravic to finish the damn thing off before it could wound anyone. Spear Attack (Charge): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 = 22

Lothar was shocked but quite touched by the Gnome leader's statement. Reginald, we cannot underestimate the value of his people seeing their leader on the front lines. I will personally ensure his safety and would be honored to act as his bodyguard on the field, if you are truly willing, Lord Geirni.

Bali Tharnhammer wrote: Bali begins each day running the Svirfneblin through numerous drills and basic combat techniques, trying her best not to look completely discouraged by their lack of competence in the art of combat. On the other hand, Lothar is resolute and optimistic with the recruits. Bali was a formally trained, die-hard warrior but he himself was recently a civilian trained in much the same manner. He knew they didn't have long, but any training at all they could impart would improve the gnome settlement's chances. He assigned the most skilled of the militia as deputies and squad leaders (assuming Bali's nod of approval, Lothar would want to make sure she agrees) and attempted to build cohesive squad's of the Gnome conscripts and volunteers.

Lothar thought for several moments before speaking, looking to Bali Drow-Slayer for confirmation on his train of thought. Respectfully, my Lord, i would suggest we arm as many able-bodied volunteers as possible and prepare as much cover as possible for them. Your people are agile and make hard targets for the Drow crossbows; we stand a better chance if we can force them into melee, preferably against a formation of spears and longspears. Almost anyone can stab effectively with a spear- my own humble accomplishments are testament to that fact. Unless you have a large abundance of crossbows, simple spears will be our most effective weapons.

While much of Lothar's training was time spent with his kin rather than in actual battle, he was increasingly finding his ability to dodge blows and strike true consistent. Perhaps the years working in the mines had lent him some physical dexterity beyond merely the strength it had granted after all. Easily evading the fire elementals attacks on him, he continued to stab his spear into his foe, albeit wary of the wooden haft of his weapon catching aflame. Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
This streak of 20's is getting ridiculous.

Pravic, log in manually with your details then join game from the link there. Lothar had resorted to his trusted spear once more and charged one of the elementals alongside his battle brother Pravic, ramming it deep into the flames and that which lay beneath them. Attack (Can't Crit Elementals): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Indeed- foreknowledge of the Gnome's Bane prevents precious time from being wasted on magic alone. More time for crossbow bolts to be fired on their approach. Lothar had been watching the emissary closely. You have already earnt your life with this information. But I sense you are holding back some crucial detail. This detail may surely be the bargaining chip, that would mark the difference between a life clad in irons in some dark hole, to a life of comfort as a guest of the Tharnhammers or the Svirfneblins; guarded, aye, but available as a consultant for the Drow, their people and the Underdark. Irons or loyal, rewarded service.
Male Dwarf Monk (Sacred Mountain) 2
Lothar stood from the high ground where he had fought, dispassionately observing the conflict of morality. Pravic's mercy was admirable, but so was the righteousness of slaying this foul foe so they could do no further harm. Seeing that consensus had apparently been reached, Lothar set his strong arms to binding the Drow into a prisoner chain with the 100 feet of hemp rope he had stowed in his backpack.
Male Dwarf Monk (Sacred Mountain) 2
Easily ducking under the bolt of his adversary, Lothar stepped in close and using the higher ground, kicked the closest Drow in the head so hard with a wild kick that bones could audibly be heard breaking on the impact. Flurry of Blows 1 (Higher Ground, Ancient Enmity, Miss): 1d20 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 7 Flurry of Blows 2 (Higher Ground, Ancient Enmity Critical Threat): 1d20 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 1 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 25

Assume this is Surprise Round so only standard action? Having slowly snuck closer and shadowed the group of Drow as they approached the ambush point, Lothar took Grimdahl's sudden attack as his cue. He hurled his spear at the emissary, his own fury rising as he attacked the cursed Elf. The throw was exceptional, the spear taking the Elf in the back, right between his shoulder blades. Attack VS Flat-Footed AC, Critical Threat: 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 23

Lothar assessed the position and gave his recommendation. This narrow corridor here- ideally, we would want to position ourselves on both sides of it, north and south, and let the Drow get that far before we launch our attack. However... its a lot of ground to cover and likely, only half of us will get an initial volley in. I think its better we set up around Grimdahl and Reginald's position and ambush them here. Gives less time for them to spot us or our plan to go awry, too. Lothar set himself up near Reginald, taking the time to pick a spot from which he had both cover and the means to conceal himself. He kept his battle-tested spear in hand, resting his loaded sling on a rock beside him.
