- - SPECIAL ABILITIES - -
Archaeologist's Luck (Ex) - Fortune favors the Archaeologist. As a swift action, an Archaeologist can call on fortune's favor, giving him a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls. He can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + his Charisma modifier. Maintaining this bonus is a free action, but it ends immediately if the Archaeologist is killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action to maintain it each round. Archaeologist's luck is treated as bardic performance for the purposes of feats, abilities, effects, and the like that affect bardic performance. Like bardic performance, it cannot be maintained at the same time as other performance abilities. This bonus increases to +2 at 5th level, +3 at 11th level, and +4 at 17th level. (13 uses per day with +2 bonus)
Armored Casting (Ex) - You can cast bard spells while wearing light armor and use a shield without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance.
Bardic Knowledge (Ex) - You add +3 to all Knowledge checks and may make all Knowledge skill checks untrained.
Rogue Talent: Canny Observer (Ex) - When a rogue with this talent makes a Perception check to hear the details of a conversation or to find concealed or secret objects (including doors and traps), she gains a +4 bonus.
Clever Explorer (Ex) - At 2nd level, an Archaeologist gains a bonus equal to half his class level on Disable Device and Perception checks. He can disable intricate and complex devices in half the normal amount of time (minimum 1 round) and open a lock as a standard action. At 6th level, an Archaeologist can take 10 on Disable Device checks, even if distracted or endangered, and can disarm magical traps. This ability replaces the versatile performance ability.
Evasion (Ex) - You can avoid damage from many area-effect attacks. If you make a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, you instead take no damage. Evasion can only be used if you are wearing light armor or no armor. If you are helpless, you do not gain the benefit of evasion.
Lore Master (Ex) - You have become a master of lore and can take 10 on any Knowledge skill check that you have ranks in. You can choose not to take 10 and can instead roll normally. In addition, 1 times per day, you can take 20 on any Knowledge skill check as a standard action.
Rogue Talents - At 4th level, an Archaeologist gains a rogue talent. He gains an additional rogue talent for every four levels of Archaeologist gained after 4th level. Otherwise, this works as the rogue's rogue talent ability.
Trap Sense (Ex) You gain a +2 bonus on Reflex saves made to avoid traps, and a +2 dodge bonus to AC against attacks made by traps.
Uncanny Dodge (Ex) You can react to danger before your senses would normally allow you to do so. You cannot be caught flat-footed, nor do you lose your Dexterity bonus to AC if the attacker is invisible. You still lose your Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized. You can still lose your Dexterity bonus to AC if an opponent successfully uses the feint action against you.

- - TRAITS - -
Fast-Talker - You had a knack at getting yourself into trouble as a child, and as a result developed a silver tongue at an early age. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Bluff checks, and Bluff is always a class skill for you.
Scholar of Ruins (Knowledge (Dungeoneering)) - From the moment you could walk and talk, the ruins of ancient civilizations have fascinated you. Because of this, you have special insight into geography as well as expertise in exploring lost places. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Knowledge (geography) and Knowledge (dungeoneering) checks. One of these skills (your choice) is always a class skill for you.

- - BACKGROUND - -
Lorne Richter is not a well-liked man. Not in his chosen field, nor in the social circles through which he drifts almost aimlessly. Charm and derring-do will only get one so far, you see, when rumors of tomb-robbing and swindling are never more than a few steps behind. Particularly when said rumors happen to be true.

Lorne is an archaeologist, an explorer of the vast mysteries of Golarion's past. The present has its charms, but it is the past that truly holds Lorne's interest- well, the past, and the promise of fame and riches given to those who uncover its secrets... and in the pursuit of these things, he can be quite ruthless. He is not an evil man, and would never kill or steal from the innocent, but when it comes to manipulation or using someone if it suits his needs. His scheming has cost him partnership in a number of archaeological associations and gotten him driven out of a university or two, but he refuses to see this as his own fault.

This extends to his family, as well. Lorne has several siblings, including his brother Eddie, whose geokinetic talents have served Lorne well in his archaeological exploits. He repeatedly claims to his brother that he is always just a few steps away from the discovery that will make him rich and famous, and that he will share that wealth with the rest of the family, but who knows if he really means it?

While he is no diabolist, he is comfortable enough living in Cheliax that he is no longer disturbed by the open worship of devils there. In fact, he is no great fan of the gods, though he does not openly scorn them or deny their existence; how he wishes he could! Rather, he chooses to ignore them, placing his faith solely in his own abilities.

While he has charm to spare, he has yet to experience a meaningful romantic relationship... something that has begun to disturb him as he enters his thirtieth year. Perhaps he should start working on that...

- - APPEARANCE - -
Lorne is an average bloke of average height, slightly-above-average looks, and far above-average fashion sense (at least by his own opinion). He has almost-shoulder length brown hair that he keeps impeccably feathered and wears an eternal five-o'-clock shadow.
