I see it like this
What if it was a med creature on a 10 foot ledge would you still consider adjacent?
there for would would you be able to hit it 10 feet back and 10 feet up?

then answer is no
therefor adjacent should mean touching the edge of the square you occupy

therefore if you attacked the head of some thing the square your attacking is not adjacent to yours

again if you can hit a bird flying over your head your telling me that you count not hit a guy on stilts or then just a giant? how could you use a pole arm to attack people on wall the very reason it was made?

to word differently cause I am bad at explaining. what is the difference between a guard on top of wall and giant standing behind a price of paper with a wall drawn on it? nothing you would make the same attack even if the giants feet are adjacent to you

Also if you levitated your self you can still push you just not with the spell right?

the you here is your magic not your person? or am I wrong

also if we have the topic open at what force of friction do they have it says at half speed but what if you can levitated and permanented it on a sail boat could you then sail in the air assuming the right winds?

One of an eidolon’s attacks is capable of striking at foes at a distance. Pick one attack. The eidolon’s reach with that attack increases by 5 feet. Source: Advanced Player's Guide

where does it say natural attacks?
by compassion

"Energy Attacks (Su)
Pick one energy type: acid, cold, electricity, or fire. All of the eidolon’s natural attacks deal 1d6 points of energy damage of the chosen type on a successful hit. The summoner must be at least 5th level before selecting this evolution. Source: Advanced Player's Guide"

"Weapon Training (Ex)

An eidolon learns to use a weapon, gaining Simple Weapon Proficiency as a bonus feat. If 2 additional evolution points are spent, it gains proficiency with all martial weapons as well. Source: Advanced Player's Guide"

so assuming that it had the arms and either the weapons training or just the normal feet for weapons before you took the reach it would have an attack with the pole arm.
By which I mean could you say your basic weapon attack was what you were giving reach

or even a bow would it give you a reach bow that you could then shoot around corners?

RP wise it would make work you have stretching arms or a body that can uncoil such as a dragons longer neck

The set up is this say I have a pet eidolon who has bite, grab(bite), swallow whole, but also constrict, energy attack(acid), improved attack(bite), and poison

the question is what counts as the bite attacks damage
part b is does the constrict rule which says double the damage then double the acid damage
part c is that part of the swallowed damage as well
part d is there any way to make a grapple check on something you have eaten
part e if you have poison on the bite is this applied if its part of the bite damage which is the damage the swallow whole is doing
part f the improved attack and other such means such as being large or damage form feats is that doubled as well

I think the rules with the summoner over rule the monster rules which are
"...Swallowed creatures take damage equal to the eidolon’s bite damage each round plus 1d6 points of bludgeoning damage."

"constrict...Whenever the eidolon successfully grapples a foe using the grab evolution, it deals additional damage equal to the amount of damage dealt by the attack used by the grab evolution."

"...All of the eidolon’s natural attacks deal 1d6 points of energy damage of the chosen type on a successful hit."

"When a creature with constrict grapples a foe, when does it deal constrict damage?

A creature with constrict deals this additional damage every time it makes a successful grapple check against a foe. This includes the first check to establish the grapple (such as when using the grab universal monster rule)."

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate. 1 person marked this as a favorite.

so does this mean if my eidolon has the ability us use a pole arm I can take reach and have a 15 foot range on it? OR does large size natural reach kick in so if I have a large(tall) eidolon using a pole arm have a 25 foot reach? 10 for being tall 10 for reach weapon and 5 for reach evolution?

Also what is the answer to the base form issue of reach being already given by serpentine bite can then I not have a tail with reach?

this really need better key wording. one attack is confusing because there are a lot of evolution s that give 2 attacks like hooves or claws or arms

Also for stupid rule question if I have reach and grab on bite and am large does that mean I could raise my bite over 10 feet and drop something for fall damage seeing as I could reach something that high?
